Re: Pokémon Company's COO Addresses Issue Between Release Schedule And Game Quality

PixelSprixie

Given how most casual fans, which garner the biggest audience for the core rpgs, really don't care or notice the performance issues, it's extremely unlikely they'll address them especially as the scope of open world Pokémon continues to grow. Pokémon is that black sheep in Nintendo's lineup, other franchises under their banner can and will get delays but Pokémon never will, it's it's own beast, or monster if you excuse the pun.

Re: It Looks Like The Final Japanese 3DS Title Has Been Canned

PixelSprixie

I think a more respectful way of referring to the 3DS currently is "officially retiring" rather than "it's dead" because so many people still enjoy their 3DS, myself included, as it still offers experiences not available on Switch whatsoever. Calling it dead makes it sound like the system is an unusable brick with no redeeming features.

Re: Poll: Is Your Nintendo Switch Cracking Under The Pressure?

PixelSprixie

I assume that later revisions of the Switch will or have had better cooling methods applied, and be more resistant to high temperatures. Launch day Switch models will have the most likely culprits of cracking under the heat. I'm happy my October 2017 Switch is perfectly fine for now.

Re: Exploring The Legalities Of Sony's Fortnite Restrictions On Nintendo Switch

PixelSprixie

Watching the different stances people have on this issue, on Nintendo Life and its sister site, Push Square, are certainly interesting. It's time to look at it objectively. I'm long time PlayStation and Nintendo fan, and what Sony is doing is certainly out of order. In fact, I hope this outcry may kick some sense into them to be more open. However, these practises are not exclusive to Sony, last gen, Microsoft did the same thing with blocking cross play with PS3 players, and they knew they could as the 360 led the way. Then Xbox One launched with a complete disregard to what many people wanted. Later, Nintendo themselves have cut services, given us a lack of transparency for a long time over the online service the Switch is soon set to offer and allow Fortnite players to use voice chat, but Splatoon 2 players need an app (for some unexplained reason)

I'm ready to accept that all big companies are anti-consumerist if they feel they can be.

Re: Poll: As "Gaming Disorder" Becomes A Thing, Is It Time To Assess How Much You Play?

PixelSprixie

I kind of predicted the poll results considering the majority of users here indeed play video games daily, me included. However, since coming into college I have less time to engross myself in anything that requires many hours of story / grinding, but this was gradual. But a lot of games these days certainly require more time put into them, as the scope of games gets larger, and while I don't think we should be told to stop playing games for good, the occasional in game reminder to say "you need a break" or let you save anytime would be much needed in more games. Gaming can be addictive, and harmful as a result. I'd play games non-stop as a child.

Re: Nintendo Has Announced the End of the Wii Shop Channel

PixelSprixie

I don't get why this is inevitable when PSN and Steam have been around longer.... I'm worried about when they do the same for Wii U & 3DS where there will be no way to transfer your download games to Switch.

It makes me sad that Nintendo happily make these decisions. ;-;

Re: Miiverse Could Live Forever Thanks To A Fearless Web Developer

PixelSprixie

As long as they keep all the good artwork, I'll be happy! Playing Yoshi's Woolly World gave me terrible frights in the form of inappropriate Miiverse posts during loading. (You don't wanna know) So they can go... but some amazing art makes me jealous that I don't have the patience to draw in B/W alone. Credit where it's due <3

Re: Sonic Mania Posthumously Pays Respect To Deceased Sonic Hacker

PixelSprixie

I played that hack back in 2012 I think (?) and thought it was so cute to see Motobug as the main playable character in Sonic 1. It gave me a new founded appreciation for the li'l fellow. ^_^ so I was happy to see him return in Sonic Mania as a boss. Didn't realise it was a reference to Jim and wasn't aware he had passed away. Time to pay respects to the #1 Motobug fan. <3

Re: The Plug Will Finally Be Pulled On Miiverse In November

PixelSprixie

I can't help but feel like Nintendo are taking another step back by closing the Miiverse in favour of making us use Social Media to interact with others. I hardly use Facebook or Twitter as you'll find some unpleasant people on both, so Miiverse was a great place to feel noticed and somewhat appreciated as well within the Nintendo community. If Miiverse was Wii U exclusive I'd be more reasoning with its closure but remember, they only just launched the New 2DS XL... which has quick access to it. I don't understand.

Re: Review: Miitopia (3DS)

PixelSprixie

I got my copy yesterday and have put quite a few hours into it already, I've been giggling non stop at casting odd miis to take in the different rolls. I'd imagine kids will have a lot of fun playing it, but an adult like me can still get a long of enjoyment out of Miitopia ^_^

Re: Rumour: Wii U System Update Hints That Miiverse Is Coming To An End Soon

PixelSprixie

I hope this isn't true anytime soon. I love spending time on the all Nintendo social media, drawing pics. (Nothing amazing but I had fun :3) Also getting to talk to other people who play the same games as me. I can't really do the same on Facebook or Twitter because they're too general so it's a stab in the dark for me.

If they delete everything is be very upset... It's Flipnote Studio all over again.

Re: Nintendo's Response To Blind Rhythm Heaven Fan Will Warm Even The Coldest Of Hearts

PixelSprixie

So heartwarming... when you remember that some people have difficulties (me included) but they are still able to enjoy Nintendo games. ^_^ I really love Rhythm Paradise (as it's known in Europe) because you can feel so engaged in playing it without looking at the screen. The music is amazing and charming too.

I love how they really took notice of his impairment and wrote him a letter in braille. That much have been so special...

I hope this becomes a trend for Switch games to be more including for all kinds of players. MK8 DX is certainly a step in the right direction!

Re: Random: Sonic Joins The Mario Kart 8 Roster In This Cheeky Mod

PixelSprixie

@retro_player_22 I know F-Zero is a Nintendo owned franchise, I just thought Sega would have liked to be more involved with future racing games by Nintendo, that's all. Since they did a great job on GX.

F-Zero can still stand well on its own alongside Mario Kart, it's fast pace style is still very fun contrast from MK. I don't know why you say there is no point.

Re: Random: Sonic Joins The Mario Kart 8 Roster In This Cheeky Mod

PixelSprixie

I did like Sonic All-star Racing Transformed on Wii U and did wonder why they included Wreck it Ralph but not Mario...? Similarly, I thought Sega would have been more involved with Mario Kart 8 since F-Zero GX was the first joint Sega + Nintendo game. And they have F-Zero levels in MK8/DX.

All that aside, this is pretty cool to see Sonic modded in, and makes me imagine MK9 will be encompassing more franchises. I hope. I wanna race as Kirby in his Air Ride warpstar and relive those lovely GC days. <3
