@SBandy1 I own a Xbox one and a switch (and lots of older consoles). I bought a switch 2 assuming they would port 4 remake. I played 2 and 3. But damn. Cmon.

Missed opportunity. My favorite thing about achievements isn’t even earning them. It was just an easy way to see about how far a friend was in a game, to compare experiences. The points are stupid. But I wish all games had “milestones” or something like that instead. I really hoped Nintendo would have done something like that. The “hours spent” on a game is nice to guesstimate. But as someone who used “achievements” differently than most I always hoped developers would embrace the trend but expand upon it(though I could care less about points)

@Tasuki dude. Go find the sega cd terminator game and play it. I feel like this is a better, more arcade like sequel. That game is fantastic. They definitely took inspiration from that game.

I’m assuming this is a very weird ad relating to the next system. Maybe a built in AI like an Alexa or whatever. Could be interesting

My biggest disappointment with the switch is that it felt like a step backwards in gaming. Switch sports motion controls are garbage. The Wii had amazing pointer controls that weren’t completely utilized. RE4 Wii is the best version. After Wii motion plus things got real good! Wii U had dual screens, very fun and lots of possibilities but it wasn’t explored enough. My ten year old daughter still chooses Mario Maker over Mario Maker 2 due to this. Light gun games should have dominated and they kinda did on Wii. But HotD on switch is a mess. You give me a more powerful system that does motion controls well and support it I’m soooo in.

@Anti-Matter an update came out today and the game plays perfectly as it should have day one!!! The game is amazing and I completed it today and the suprises after the game are so awesome!!!

@Anti-Matter I played the switch demo and Xbox one. Xbox one seemed worse and is weirdly not getting released till tomorrow. I really wanted this on switch but after reading this article almost pulled the trigger on Xbox one. Gladly I tried the demo first. I noticed slowdown and moments when the game just stopped for a half a second. Is this game really that hard to run without a current gen system?????

@Link-Hero yup. Me too. I hope the next Nintendo system is a dedicated home console.

I know it sounds crazy. But I think they will announce an Illumination Zelda movie today.

@Yosher and with Daisy right there being yellow as well. I’ve felt from day one when this was announced that the grey and white checkered background was just a filler like the bottom layer in a photoshop project. I feel like both on the box and this artwork they still haven’t shown us what Mario/etc are stepping into… I guess we will see on Thursday!!!!!

@Cashews I work with a ton of people who got pirated copies, every single one of them are getting physical copies (most collectors editions). I got the digital and started playing last night at midnight. But you are right, I’m sure there are still plenty of pirates that don’t spend on the real deal.

@LiquidNinja Nah. I’m not into speed running either, but those people play the game over and over and over and over again to get to that point. I just got the game at midnight and a couple people at my job downloaded and emulated and are on their second play through. Those people really get into the game. But I’m with you, I like to really enjoy and take my time with it for the art that it is. These people get deep into the physics and everything else, I guess it’s just a different way to enjoy it. But they definitely put in the time, they don’t get these times on their first play through.

Battle Network Transmission on GameCube was soooo good. Never got a sequel which was a bummer. I wish that game was also on this collection. It’s a shame it’s not since now we can play almost everything Megaman. Maybe one more collection with legends and transmission!!!

It shouldn’t be that hard. It should be a game separate from the others. I have always been a Nintendo fan. But COD is fun, the best games were MW and MW2. Just give us a simple but balanced game like those. Switch could handle both.

I haven’t seen this anywhere. But what if Links arm is the Master Sword. Maybe his arm isn’t cursed or maybe it’s a little bit of a curse but a lot of power. The amibo statue would make some sense to me then. Am I missing something or is this possible?

@FargusPelagius modern stuff absolutely. I don’t know that new, snes and such fall under these agreements.

Nintendo almost found the solution back when the Wii existed. They had a Virtual Console. I always wondered why they didn’t also just release a system called the “virtual console” side by side with the Wii. It would strengthen the argument against piracy if you could purchase most games legally no matter how old or obscure. Keep pricing cheap. I own almost every console generations systems but the Wii was the best. It had everything (except hd) no one has matched the motion controls (even Nintendo on the Switch). It had light gun games and retro stuff worked very well with the control options. The mini Nes and Snes were close as well. But I can’t believe we don’t have a Nintendo Virtual Console at this point, with tons of publishers behind it. It’s insane to me that this was never realized.

I think these will turn ok. I never expected them to be much more than the ability to play these games again. They seem simplified but the content is still there. Honestly though, the 360 release of San Andreas was better and that was a port of the phone version so I dunno. Bloodstained gave me faith that games released can be very different than the final product and I kinda enjoyed playing through all the changes. I’m curious to see how this all plays out. Switch is my favorite current platform, but I got San Andreas free on gamepass so I’ll be watching the updates.

I keep coming back to first party and Mario related. Only because there are multiple stage slots still left to fill(I think 4) to make the stage selection screen look complete. If it was Waluigi or any other first party they could drop 4 stages with the character. Maybe they will just dump extra stages no matter who is announced. But it would make sense to have a theme of some sort.

I would love this to be something with more Wii like pointer control. After all, House of the Dead releases soon and they have been very quiet about how that is going to work. I doubt it, but it would be awesome.

There were early plans for GameCube to be a portable 3D machine but it proved to be too costly. I think this eventually became the 3Ds. There are pictures and everything. Sorry, on break at work or I would dig these up right now.

@Silly_G Nintendo knew we wanted Smooth moves 2. That’s why they gave us this. I’m sure it will still be fun. But that’s what Nintendo does.

The switch is still doing great. But if I was in charge of marketing I would push for a significant overhaul of NSO games (nes, snes, Gb + color, advance, virtual boy- add them all!, n64... even Wii stuff. Then do an entire marketing campaign targeting retro gamers and selling this as a system just to play that stuff. A commercial showing people playing Zelda alttp Metroid castlevania advance games. Metroid fusion. It would sell even more consoles. During the Wii days I couldn’t figure out why they didn’t sell a $50 virtual console. A Wii that was tiny and only did virtual console. They have such a rich history and people still want to throw them $$$$$ I don’t get it.

I’m guessing it’s a First Party character but one with a history. Maybe a Mario or a Zelda character. Zelda would be fitting with the anniversary this year. Plus, I think they are going to release it with three stages(just to make the character and stage selection screen look tidy). I could see a Mario character with 3 stages. Who knows though, for all we really know it could be Parapa the Rappa at this point. Guess we gotta just wait it out!

I don’t know *****. But underground is the next remaster.

Metroid Fusion was amazing. This is a sequel. It better be amazing. The trailer doesn’t make it seem all that great. I hope I am proven wrong!

Step in the right direction for big N. But I was expecting Zelda sooner. It’s ok as long as it’s a great game and I’m sure it will be. I was surprised by Metroid Dread and will play it. I have played through every 2d Metroid and no 3D so for me this was awesome. Monkey ball was amazing on Wii and with the joycons it will be fun and I can play it with my 7 year old. I think she will have a blast. Only thing I was truly disappointed with was I was expecting was an overhaul on the Nintendo service. I was expecting a announcement of something around 30-50 new NES, Snes and maybe N64, Gameboy etc. the service could be such an amazing thing and it’s still just lackluster. I imagine Nintendo owns all their Ips outright and don’t need to pay anyone anymore for their own stuff, that service would move soooo many more consoles if they put more on there and promoted it (not that they need to move more consoles). A full comerercial just showing all the retro games playable on it would move tons.

I will pay for good games. Pump out good games, I will pay.

I really hope we get a Sonic Mania sequel!!!!!!!!!!! That game was so good I can’t imagine them not making a sequel.

I’ve been playing TH 1+2 since it came out. Probably will pick up a copy for Switch as well. While TH 3+4 would be cool I have been dreaming of a new game using the 1+2 engine but new locations based on real life (at this point FDR is soooo different than what is in the Philly level. Would be nice to have a new version) how about the Berrics. It could be a killer game. Hope they go that direction!

It kills me how often the phone Mario kart gets updates. I think they kinda messed up calling the game Deluxe. It seems wrong to add to a “deluxe” version of a game. I think being Nintendo this stopped them from adding to it. It would have made more sense to call it Mario Kart 8 Switch and then added as time went on. I would love more dlc but at this point I would hope they are almost ready with a new entry in the series.

I don’t believe this is an error. They are working on something. Why would that even exist or be in their photo.

I love my switch, don’t get me wrong. But I have always felt like the tech was a bit of a step back. Wii and Wii U had soooo many amazing games everyone could get into because of the motion control/ir. I really don’t understand why they didn’t include it on both sides of the joycons. We would have another Wii Sports for sure (switch sports) and light gun games would be plenty. I watched the video a couple times and sadly to me it looks like it is being played on analog stick based on the pointer movement. I understand sometimes the motion control was gimmicky... but when it worked well it was magic.

I purchased a physical copy day 1 and barely touched it. I don’t know why, but I’m feeling the strongest urge to play now that it is being delisted. I’m sure sales have surged in the past couple days as well. Nintendo still knows how to build hype!

I’m so sad Mario 35 is disappearing. If a Zelda game in the same style appears I will be ok though. Why they don’t make a permanent game like Mario 35 but more like NES remix is beyond me. NES Remix Online would be a great online component to Switch Online. Make it Nintendo!!!

I’m really bummed Mario 35 is leaving. I got a physical copy of 3D all-stars and managed to pick up the game and watch (which I’ve played once or twice now... probably not a necessary purchase). But Mario 35 I was playing at least once a day since it released. Gonna be a sad day for me after today. I’ll probably put another hour or so in before it disappears. Hope they rerelease it as something bigger!

Double dip for me. Have it on Xbox but playing this outside in portable mode will be the absolute best!

@ian_beale yeah. That was a bummer for me as well. I try to make mine like Mario 1/3 classic levels. Check my levels out! SM4- V43- 023 is one. I assume you can see the others from there as well. . I just got 3 hernias repaired(in recovery room right now). Plan to make more while laying in bed over the next couple weeks. Cheers!

I was really expecting crazy stuff from these events as the game was winding down. Things like start as Frog Mario and if you lose the suit you are out. All physics as if everything is ice. All enemies are Bowser. Old Game Genie type effects like super jumps. Stuff like that. Maybe if this becomes a bigger game at some point. Really sad to see this go away.

I spent upwards of $5000.00 on my Original Wii on games, accessories and Virtual Console games. Then I modded it as well (I know, shame, shame). I am probably going to buy one, but I am more excited to just buy the controllers (since they are Wii compatible as well).

So.... digging a little deeper I found that there have been quite a few times Papa Mario has popped up, multiple times in the cartoon series (wearing blue and yellow each time again).

has him chasing baby Mario again with a pipe. I think he is cannon and we just weren't paying much attention over the years....cause it really isn't super important. The Jumpman theory seems pretty solid, there have been 2 Marios.
