Frontier Developments has announced Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition for Switch. It'll launch on Nintendo's platform on 3rd November and is already available to pre-order from the eShop.
Unsurprisingly based on the hit franchise, the game expands upon the official Jurassic World films and puts players in charge of one of the loudest, coolest, dinosaur-est(?) tourist attractions found on the big screen. The original game, called Jurassic World Evolution, launched on PC, PS4 and Xbox One back in 2018.

So what makes the Switch version the 'Complete Edition'? Well, this new release is coming packed with every piece of DLC released since launch. That includes all three major narrative expansions - Jurassic World Evolution: Return to Jurassic Park, Jurassic World Evolution: Claire’s Sanctuary, and Jurassic World Evolution: Secrets of Dr. Wu - as well as four Dinosaur Packs and the Raptor Squad Skin Collection.
Here's some PR:
Players can immerse themselves in every aspect of their very own Jurassic World as they take control of operations on the legendary Isla Nublar and the surrounding islands of the Muertes Archipelago. With the fate of the park at their fingertips, players can construct attractions, as well as containment and research facilities as they bioengineer new dinosaur species that think, feel and intelligently react to their environments.
Guided by key characters from the films, including Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), and Dr. Henry Wu (BD Wong), players can put their building and management skills to the test. With multiple ways to play, players can choose whether to control the big picture with deep, accessible management options or go hands-on to confront challenges on the ground or in the air in action-based gameplay. Every choice leads to a different path and spectacular challenges arise when “life finds a way.”
Excited for this one? Are you a fan of the films? If you're interested in learning more ahead of its release, our friends over at Push Square reviewed the PS4 version with an 8/10 when it launched a couple of years back.

The fact they introduced it as ‘one of the most popular games of 2018 is coming to Switch’ made me chuckle. It’s like they do it on purpose.
Hmmm... I did like that Jurassic Park Builder on GBA, and I love simulation games...
It’s definitely not as good as Planet Coaster or Planet Zoo, but I think the reviews were a bit harsh on it (the Push Square review is much higher than the norm). If you’re a Jurassic Park fan, you’ll likely get some enjoyment from it.
The game developers were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should!
@Apportal very good
As a Jurassic park/world fan, this is going to be a must for me!
Nice! Insta-buy. These are the kinda games I would wish see more releases for switch. Not really aaa, but good quality modern games.
Used to play a load of Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis back in the day, so may get this for the hybrid... But not at £50!
Tbh this makes me want more for Frontier to bring Planet Coaster to Switch.
I really wanted this game back when it released on other platforms. I never expected to see it on Switch, especially so long after the fact. I’m excited, nonetheless.
But is there a physical version planned?
I have this on Xbox with all three DLC. It's really very good. The campaign mode is lengthy and decent. Fully voiced and has a sort of story. 2 of the 3 DLC's are passable but the newest one Return to Jurassic Park was absolutely amazing. Essentially a sequel to the first film you rebuild the original park back up again. Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Goldblum are all back too (bless Attenborough's Soul).
Later updates such as Challenge mode will be included so it's really great. DLC's cost around £10 each so for it all to be there with the base game is a bargain. I felt the reviews on this at launch were far far too harsh. Much better than Jurassic Park Operation Genesis or Zoo Tycoon Dinosaur Digs for comparison.
Oh I could definitely try this one on switch. I was always curious about it whenever I saw it on steam.
This came out of the blue! I remember back in 2018 hoping this would come to the Switch, I'll be buying it.
@pip_muzz I agree, the full game is absolutely wonderful although I wonder how it will run on Switch.
Of course when I buy it on Steam...I mean, I got it while it was on sale anyways, but whatever. Anyways it's fine, I dunno how the "free play" mode works or how much freedom you get when creating your own park from scratch, but...it's fine. lol
You apparently have to play the campaign in order to unlock that free mode thing, as far as I know. Even then, I heard that it has limitations.
Nice game, though Frontier's history of quietly "moving on" to other projects and pretty much abandoning the communities (look at what happened to Planet Coaster after Planet Zoo's reveal) and the very name of this version would appear to suggest there won't be any of the Aviary or aquatic expansions fans had been hoping for since the original launch.
At any rate, it's up to Frontier to prove otherwise, but I'm not holding my breath. It's been a long time since any new DLC or expansions were announced for this game.
Great!
While the downgrade is evident, if the frames are stable and it doesn't break the gameplay, I'm in. But I'm a little bit concerned about the duration of the game in terms of fun, because many people said that you get tired of it after a few hours...
Anyways, I'm happy that more games are coming to Switch!!
The GBA one was so cool.
Happy to see these kind of games on Switch.
Give it another 3 years and we might have a decent overall library.
I just want an immersive, first-person Jurassic Park survival game in the vein of Alien Isolation. Come on, Universal! It'll sell like hot cakes.
Looks intriguing, certainly better than the usual movie tie-ins we have gotten on Switch.
@Peach64 Speaking of Planet Coaster. I would like to see a port of that game for the Nintendo Switch.
I have been waiting for this!!!!!! So happy!
Was free on Xbox last December. Pretty average stuff in truth.
Brilliant news
Haven't played this but I played Jurassic world:the game on mobile. It's surprisingly decent for a mobile game, although pay to win aspects were slowly creeping in.
Kept on crashing on my old-ass iPad mini 2 though.
Impressive announcement! But haven't we seen a T-Rex previously in Super Mario Odyssey and ARK?
Curiously, there are some Jurassic Park games on mobile, but this will look more like the "bigger bro" when played on a Switch
Can't wait! Got it on sale for pc and enjoy it but if I can take it on the go then this is a must!
