Re: Rumour: Last Wii U Consoles Roll Off The Production Line This Week

Oubie

To me, as I try to combine college, work, social life and gaming, the Wii U was a perfect console. I played, and still playing, a lot of games on it. In the beginning there were a lot of Wii games to finish in my library of games. As I couldn't play a lot like I used to, I never felt there were no games to play. Wii U first party, indie eShop and Virtual Console games kept me busy through the years. I fully understand the mistakes that were made with the Wii U, but I never regretted buying the console and enjoyed it quite a lot. Still playing Paper Mario: Color Splash and the big multiplayer games as well as a couple of indie eShop and VC games on it. Planning on getting Yooka Laylee and Zelda on it too (and do a 2nd playthrough of Zelda on the Switch). Farewell Wii U.

@ThomasBW84 They have 3 Saturdays left in March, IF they even release hardware on Saturdays in Japan and IF they're not going to release it worldwide on the same day. I remember the Wii U had a staggered launch. US, Europe and Japan had all different launch dates.

@G-Boy Indeed. But it has been such a long time ago since Nintendo held an actual live press conference/presentation/event, at least that's what I understood from the press release. I'm getting that E3 feeling from back in the days, yaaay

Woke up here in Europe to this wonderful news. A big LIVE streamed presentation from Tokyo sounds exciting, followed by public showings in the US and Europe.

Will this event be somewhat like the Wii U event held in September 2012? That was also 2 months before the launch.

Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo Switch May Divide Opinion, But It's Made a Splash

What if they releases their biggest Wii U multiplayer games with upgrades at launch day? And if you already own that game on the WIi U, there would be a special upgrade system for €10/15? That way you don't have to pay full price, but you do get all the added bells and whistles of the upgraded Switch versions.

I'm looking at Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros., Splatoon and Super Mario Maker for its community aspect. Think of added online options, courses, levels, characters, modes and visual upgrades.

To my surprise my famliy started talking today about the 'new Nintendo' that's coming out in March 2017 after seeing the trailer on social media and hearing about it in traditional media. They instantly understood the concept and are looking forward playing it with me when they visit me.

I was completely shocked. NO ONE has ever mentioned something to me about the Wii U around 2011 and 2012... even to this day they're still a bit confused why I needed the Wii U to play the new games on it: 'But you already have a Wii.' Sigh...LOL!

Re: Fresh Retail Source Reportedly Reinforces and Outlines New Nintendo NX Rumours

Oubie

I hope they figure out the right messaging for the NX from the start. Word of mouth is so important in this age of social media, so the concept must be clear and easy to understand and be exciting and new at the same time. I'm not concerned about the games, Nintendo usually delivers on this front. If they succeed in that, I don't mind if it's coming in March or November 2017.

Re: Paper Mario: Color Splash 'Rescue V' Video Series Reaches Its Finale

Oubie

I can't wait to play this game. I know my opinion won't be a popular one but I like the game for being different compared to Paper Mario 1 and 2. The first one was great and TTYD perfected that formula. Super Paper Mario was a fun departure and Sticker Star was indeed a letdown, but this seems to correct the mistakes of SS. Looking forward to Color Splash this Friday.

I remember Fall 2004 in Europe...it was such a great time to be a GameCube owner. I bought Animal Crossing in September, Pikmin 2 in October, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Tales of Symphonia and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes in November and Prince of Persia: Warrior Within early December. Good old days
