@BrightBeing I don't really get the part about being underpowered...if you upgrade from the Wii how can it be underpowered? The games are beautiful in HD in my opinion. I don't look at the PS4 or Xbox One because they simply don't have my Nintendo games, so I can only look back at the Wii to compare the games on the Wii and Wii U.
I think it can (and must) lose the GamePad. Why does Nintendo's console needs to have a different control scheme to be an unique system? After the Wii era, all I wanted was to have a beautiful HD console with better online capabilities (MiiVerse is fantastic!!).
They tried it with the GamePad, but there's almost not a single game that really blew me away with the way how they integrated the controller. It can live on as an accessory (like the Wii Balance Board) and be succesful in its own right. But because they need to make drastic decisions now, they can better focus on the games with the Pro Controller / Wii Remote + Nunchuck and make them fantastic...it would also be better to bridge the gap with 3rd Parties.
This way they can bring the price of the Wii U way down, have fantastic 'traditional' games and offer GamePad owners value through extra modes in those games or via the eShop and of course Off-TV play, marketing it as a premium value for the complete Wii U experience.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but I thought Japan would get either a price cut for the Wii U or new attractive bundles, the ones with Wii Party U / Wii Fit U on the 30th or 31st of October. I hope the sales will pick up a bit then.
Why is there zero promotion on tv about Wii Fit U? Or are they waiting for the physical release around Dec 6 (Europe), Dec 13 (NA)? And what about Wii Sports Club? I know Club is only a digital release but still... 2 of the most succesful products of the Wii era need a bigger marketing push!
I would buy this game on disc anyway... I only buy exclusive eShop and Virtual Console games digitally, maybe for a game like Animal Crossing, sports or party game I would go and play daily for an hour. Then it's a lot handier to have those games ready with one click away. For adventures like Deus Ex, play time is much longer and I simply looove my box arts too much
@TreesenHauser Yeah, that's true. But i think it's a little bit awkward timing to show something of Zelda Wii U now. In my other comments i was expressing my worries about the lack of preview builds etc. to give the upcoming games some exposure. These games need to sell the Wii U now, so that the Wii U is still around when Zelda Wii U launches sometime in the future.
@TreesenHauser Don't expect anything from Zelda Wii U. Maybe in a Direct in February or March to start build excitement for late 2014. This Direct will probably focus on the big titles leading up till Xmas. It would be amazing if they'd surprise us tomorrow with an first glimpse of Zelda Wii U
I find it really strange that they don't let the media preview and play the games for this fall to build some excitement and give them exposure.
We need far more coverage on these 3DS games:
Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Mario Party: Island Tour, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies, Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy, Bravely Default, Sonic: Lost World (3DS version), Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. They're all coming out in Europe before 2014!
Finally some action from Nintendo: If this is true, the basic bundle and the Nintendo Land bundle are finally gone! For 300 euros/dollars the console plus Zelda Wind Waker HD or Mario U + Luigi U. That's a 160 euros/dollars gap between a PS4 plus 1 game (aprox. 460).
The other exclusives: Wii Party U, Scribblenauts Unmasked, Wii Fit U, Sonic Lost World, Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Mario & Sonic at the Olympics, should do just fine on their own...maybe in the future a Wii Party U bundle like the Wii got a couple of years ago. Mario Kart 8 bundle should be a no brainer for Nintendo, they have to be aggresive this fall, winter and spring!

Does anyone agree with me?
Re: Nintendo Direct Focusing On Wii U And 3DS Games Coming Spring 2014 To Air Tomorrow
@NavySpheal Ahh...forgot to mention it's not out in Europe, just like Shin Megami Tensei IV isn't released yet in Europe. I edited my comment

My hopes for Nintendo 3DS Spring 2014:

My hopes for Wii U Spring 2014 (officially March/April/May right?)

Re: Nintendo Direct: Wii U And 3DS Broadcast Coming Tomorrow
Give the media some new preview builds of the exclusive Wii U games for this fall to build some excitement and media coverage.
Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Sonic: Lost World, Wii Party U, Mario & Sonic at the Olympics, Wii Sports Club, Wii Fit U.
