Well, not to be all negative but Splatoon and Super Mario Maker have had a lasting appeal on me to this day, along with all the DLC of Smash Bros that just ended earlier this year. Coupled with Yoshi's Woolly World, Fatal Frame, Xenoblade Chronicles X, FAST Racing NEO, Minecraft, Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, Pokkén Tournament, Star Fox Zero/Guard and Tokyo Mirage Sessions, i've been quite busy. But i agree non of these games are must buy/system sellers except for Smash Bros/Splatoon/Super Mario Maker.
@Nin10doh Yeah, maybe we'll see games like Etrian Odyssey V, Dragon Ball Fusions, Detective Pikachu, Puzzle & Dragons X, Yo-Kai Watch 3, Dragon Quest 11, Inazuma Eleven and The Snack World among others in 2017 and perhaps a few in 2018.
I think the different translations are the reason for the Spring 2017 release. Maybe it's for the better, the 3DS has enough games this Fall. Together with Dragon Quest 8, Ever Oasis, Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns, SMT IV: Apocalypse, 7th Dragon III Code: VFD, Lady Layton and hopefully Monster Hunter Stories 2017 is looking like a nice farewell year for the 3DS in Europe.
Can't wait for this game! September looks nice if you own both a Wii U and 3DS. For me it will be Axiom Verge and Shantae Half-Genie Hero on Wii U and Spirit of Justice and Dragon Quest 7 on 3DS.
@DizziParadise Yeah this is the time to finish games that take a while. Who knows, maybe you'll even start Bravely Second. I admire those games, but they're way too deep for me.
@DizziParadise Ah yes, that's exactly what i'm looking for. I found Bravely Default to be a bit too deep for me. I like the whimsical style of Popolocrois.
Speaking of Nintendo Selects titles for Wii U in Europe... since this is the last Holiday season of the Wii U, Nintendo should add a lot more titles to the line up along with a discount on the Wii U itself to 200 euros.
My line up for Europe would be:
Super Mario 3D World Pikmin 3 Mario Kart 8 Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush Mario Party 10 Splatoon Yoshi's Woolly World
@TheGreatMaccao Thanks for your time to answer my question. I think i'll download the demo of MH 4 Ultimate and give it a try. Although Generations being more beginner friendly sounds very interesting.
My list of 3DS games of 2017. There's some life left in the handheld next year. Looking forward to MH Stories!
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King Ever Oasis Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns Monster Hunter Stories Dragon Ball Fusions Level 5 games: The Snack World, Inazuma Eleven, Professor Layton, Yo-Kai Watch 3
Maybe it's for the better that there are not that much big games to play this year for me because of college and work. Just finished Xenoblade Chronicles X and Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. Next week going to start with Tokyo Mirage Sessions, that will lead into Dragon Quest VII, Shantae and Paper Mario (my 3 picks).
@PanurgeJr Very true, indies still can find succes on Wii U this year, especially during the Summer and Fall months. Also looking forward to RIVE, Axiom Verge, Exile's End, Hive Jump, Severed, Jotun, Shantae and hopefully SteamWorld Heist HD... All out before October!
Can't wait for this game! I absolutely loved the remakes of 4, 5 and 6 and the original 9 on the DS and 8 on the PS2! That main theme gives me EVERYTHING
@Kenology I sadly stopped one day with my old collection because I just don't have any space left in my rental apartment. Sold my N64, GameCube, PS2, DS and Wii. Kept soms physical games from the DS and Wii as they're playable on my 3DS and Wii U. And the Virtual Console is keeping my NES, SNES, N64, GB and GBA games alive
@Kirk Yep! If you come out strong in that first year and leading up to the launch, the buzz and vibe is with you and that will translate into sales. But sadly, from the moment it got announced at E3 2011 it looked as if Nintendo wasn't sure and ready...I mean the Zelda team still isn't ready haha and correct me if i'm wrong, they are even removing GamePad specific features from Breath of the Wild.
A lot of 'what ifs' and 'buts', but (haha) if they launched the Wii U with Super Mario Maker (a fresh new take on 2D Mario, especially after New Super Mario Bros. 2 launching just a few months earlier on the 3DS), Pikmin 3 (after the GamePad update), Nintendo Land, Zombi U...combined with other launch window games and a May 2013 release of Splatoon and Holiday 2013 release of amiibo, things would have been SO different in that first year alone.
If they launched the concept of the GamePad with Super Mario Maker instead New Super Mario Bros. U, it would have been a real system seller at launch! The Wii U would have had a bit more succes, not the crazy amount of Wii or PS4, but more like GameCube numbers.
I'm glad the game turned out this way. We already have main line games in the Fire Emblem (Awakening and Fates) and Shin Megami Tensei (IV and IV: Apocalypse) series on the 3DS. This game is something new, fresh and exciting for the Wii U, even though it has the familiar SMT mechanics.

Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force Power Bombs in Japan
How are the Olympic games both for 3DS and Wii U still in the top 20?! Who buys that? Why? Combined sales of more than 300.000 haha
Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force Power Bombs in Japan
Awesome to see Kirby: Planet Robobot continue to sell well, such a fun game!
Re: Super Mario 64 DS Heading to the North American Wii U Virtual Console This Week
@DBPirate Haha that was quick! Thanks! Going to grab the DS game card instead of downloading it on Wii U.
Re: Super Mario 64 DS Heading to the North American Wii U Virtual Console This Week
Can you use the Circle Pad of the 3DS if you play the game on the 3DS using the DS game card?

@HeroOfTime32 @HappyMaskedGuy I just recently talked about it with a friend. Why not? We made a financial plan, hopefully it will work out for us.
Re: Talking Point: Mario's Cameo in Rio Showcases Nintendo's Enduring Brand Power
I'll start saving money for my trip to Tokyo in 2020. Can't wait to visit the Olympics there and Nintendo Land at Universal Studios.

@LemonSlice Cool! Never got to it, perfect game for this quiet time of the year.

What about Ducktails? Worth that price?

Is Return to Popolocrois worth getting for that price? Read a lot of good things about this game...

If I had to choose, MH4 Ultimate or MH Generations? I'm a complete noob when it comes to this series and like it to be a bit story driven...

Re: Nintendo Staffing Up Internal Smart Device Development Team
@Vegaphil I actually don't want them to be just like the core ones on my 3DS. Otherwise I could keep playing those games and I am haha.
Re: Nintendo Staffing Up Internal Smart Device Development Team
Can't wait for Animal Crossing on my tablet and Fire Emblem on my smartphone!

Re: FAQ: The GamePad Screen is, Tellingly, Largely Redundant in Breath of the Wild's Demo
Too bad. I liked the use of the GamePad in the huge open world game that is Xenoblade Chronicles X.

I'll give it a try if it's on the level of Swords & Soldiers 1 and 2. Loved both those games!
Re: Hands On: Painting the Walls Red with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
@Kenology Ah okay. I just love the look of the box and smell of the manual haha
Re: Hands On: Painting the Walls Red with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
@Tempestryke Looks like a nice finish line for the Wii U with Bloodstained, Yooka-Laylee and of course Zelda early 2017!

@Kenology Don't wait and go buy and play them on your DS or 3DS (if you have one haha)!
Re: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Switched Development Direction After Six Months

Re: Paper Mario and New Style Boutique Discounts Arrive on My Nintendo in Europe

Re: Paper Mario and New Style Boutique Discounts Arrive on My Nintendo in Europe
Is Sticker Star worth the €16?
Re: Review: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (Wii U)
I think i'm going to buy this game on day one! I think it's original and I like to show them support. This game will help me get through the Summer.
Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd June (Europe)
So many retail Wii U games haha with Minecraft and LEGO Star Wars arriving next week as well.
Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd June (Europe)
@RainbowGazelle Oh okay cool. I like to give the game a try but with the option to sell it if it's not for me, so phyisical would be ideal.
Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd June (Europe)
I thought Terraria physical was supposed to be released on June 24 as well...
