Re: Review: Star Fox Zero (Wii U)

@Kirk Too bad! I sadly don't have the patience to learn a control scheme for a few hours. It's their responsibility to create controls that are easily picked up and ready to go.

Re: Review: Star Fox Zero (Wii U)

I'm confused, can someone please help me? Is it required to use the cockpit view on the GamePad? I read somewhere it's possible to just focus on the TV. I really can't stand confusing controls, I just don't have the time to spend it on a learning curve.

@VanillaLake I understand. In my case, i'm 27...sadly but sometimes life gets in the way of gaming haha.

I'm gonna stop: getting the feeling i'm spamming this comment section of Star Fox Zero

Re: Review: Star Fox Zero (Wii U)

@VanillaLake OMG...all 3 consoles?! How do you keep up? Well, you can't haha. I'm stressing out with my 3DS/Wii U combo. But I do like to invest in eShop and Virtual Console games for both to keep me busy.

Re: Review: Star Fox Zero (Wii U)

@VanillaLake No Mario Tennis for me then, maybe on the NX

On the list of games: Thanks very much! I already have a couple of those games with FE Awakening, Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and Luigi's Mansion 2 as my favorites.

Any thoughts on Fantasy Life and/or Tales of the Abyss?

Re: Review: Star Fox Zero (Wii U)

On topic of Star Fox Zero:

The game feels like a launch or launch window game, please hear me out and don't kill me. It seems to me it's like a typical game to show off the experimental controls. Combine it with an, in all honesty, second tier but loved franchise and you have a nice 'hook' to introduce players to the GamePad and to revive a franchise. Instead it's one of Wii U's last exclusive title.

Re: Review: Star Fox Zero (Wii U)

Oubie

@VanillaLake Yeah indeed! I had the GameCube version all these years but I sold my GameCube, Wii and the game. Alwasy thought the Wii U version would be awesome, but then Ultra Smash happened

Re: Review: Star Fox Zero (Wii U)

Oubie

@heyzeus002 Oh okay, I was wondering about that yeah. I know the N64 version is way better but those graphics...I can't haha. 3DS version would look nice on my 3DS. But in the end: I want the best version.

Re: Review: Star Fox Zero (Wii U)

Oubie

@VanillaLake I loved the GameCube version back in the day. I read a lot about the game being empty/shallow. Isn't there a solo/tournament mode or high difficulty to keep coming back to?

Re: Review: Star Fox Zero (Wii U)

Oubie

@VanillaLake Thanks! I waited so long for this day to decide wether to buy 64 3D or Zero and I finally made my decision. Thankfully I have enough space left on my SD card.

PS: Is Mario Tennis Open also worth 20 euros digitally?

Re: Review: Star Fox Zero (Wii U)

Oubie

@Xenocity But digitally will net me some Gold Points for My Nintendo. It seems like a type of game to pick it up and play now and then so digital would be better I guess.

Re: Star Fox Zero Animated Short Takes Off This Wednesday

Oubie

Nice to see they're giving the Wii U a decent PR send off before any official talk of the NX going forward. All other Wii U games won't get the attention because the NX will be their priority.

It was a nice Spring for me with Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, Mutant Mudds Super Challenge, Shantae: Risky's Revenge - Director's Cut, Pokkén Tournament and hopefully Star Fox Zero / Guard.

Re: A Wii U and 3DS Nintendo Direct Is On the Way

Oubie

What if Zelda Wii U was shown and really just a Wii U game for this year? What if a NX version would arrive in 2017 alongside the NX? Which meand NX won't be out this year. With Zelda on Wii U and Pokémon on 3DS that's a better Holiday line up than last year.

Re: Poll: Vote for Your Favourite Legend of Zelda Games - 30th Anniversary Edition

Oubie

My top 3:

1. Ocarina of Time - I will never forget what a magical adventure that was, way ahead of its time in 1998. That Sheik unveiling!

2. The Wind Waker - Although it was on the easy and short side, it's still a magical and atmospheric journey with nice nods to OoT and beautiful graphics.

3. Twilight Princess - Also a bit on the easy side, but it was the biggest game in the series with some of the best dungeons and I loved the story of Zant and Midna.

Re: Review: Fire Emblem Fates (3DS)

I think just like Awakening this game will get released in April in Europe. Just like when Awakening came out in February 2013 in North America and in April in Europe. Must buy by the way

Re: Sony Hardware and Exclusives Dominate in Japanese Charts as Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash Has a Decent Start

Oubie

@Gerbwmu The Wii U and 3DS seem to have a reasonable release schedule in Japan for the last couple of months. Leading up to April they'll get Mario & Sonic, Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, Pokkén Tournament, Star Fox Zero, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final, Mega Man Legacy Collection, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 with Monster Hunter Stories and Yo-kai Watch 3 coming later this Spring or Summer in Japan.

Re: Game of the Year: Nintendo Life's Staff Awards 2015

Oubie

I know no one asked but here is my list of 2015!

Wii U Retail: Xenoblade Chronicles X, runner up: Splatoon
Wii U eShop: Swords & Soldiers II, runner up: Shantae and the Pirate's Curse
3DS Retail: Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros., runner up: Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D
3DS eShop: SteamWorld Heist, runner up: 3D Gunstar Heroes

Re: Game of the Year: Nintendo Life's Staff Awards 2015

Oubie

Too bad Swords & Soldier II isn't on the Wii U eShop top 5. I really love that game. And in my opinion, Xenoblade Chronicles X deserved to be a few places higher on the Wii U Retail list. I would also put Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on it. The game came out this year here where I live and I loved it.

Re: Game of the Year: Nintendo Life's Staff Awards 2015

Oubie

Where are Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros. and Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.? Definitely better than Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, New Style Boutique 2 and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. And I really miss 3D Gunstar Heroes on the 3DS eShop list. But it's nice to see what you fellow gamers like

Re: Wii U and 3DS Hardware Sales Lead the Way in Japan

Oubie

Glad to see these results. And the Wii U has some sort of momentum in releases these upcoming months in Japan:

  • December 26: Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem
  • January 28: Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash
  • February 12: Mighty No. 9
  • February 18: Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games
  • March 10: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
  • March 18: Pokkén Tournament
  • April 21: Star Fox Zero
