I'm excited, this one looks like it takes a lot from the original 3DS story of seasons, which I was a big fan of.

I've been waiting SO long for fantasy life to finally arrive, I'll be getting that day 1.

I mean this also isn't necessarily just against Palworld, the same developers have other games where they reused assets from breath of the wild and other games, so it may not be as specific as it seems against Palworld alone.

I still have several weeks cleared for Fantasy Life i.

It kind of makes sense that it was heavy on announcements for next year as opposed to adding details to games coming out for the rest of this year, since there's also Tokyo Game Show in about a week where they can give more.

While I understand the issue of having it in the game, possibly cutting the difficulty for certain scenarios, it also means the designers can take more freedom in making the game more difficult in general, since those who want to use the rewind can do so and people who want to enjoy the challenge are free to.

I'm not too interested in this lineup, but that's probably a good thing for my wallet after fire emblem, kirby and octopath already this year.

I am really curious about the number of captains and/or "castaways" seeing as the ship seemed really big. Reminds me a bit of Subnautica in some ways.

I'm not sure how to feel. The animation is really cool, but they just made their own standard too high with Edge of Dawn. The song in this one isn't bad by any means, I just seems a bit weak in comparison.

I am 99% sure the sellable items category was in Sword and Shield too but I agree wholeheartedly.
One that didn't get mentioned was the fact that rather than being completely deleted from existence entirely, single-use hold items are now just single-use per battle, meaning you can keep experimenting without needing to shell out more money to replace that throat spray or air balloon.

Well a lot of the detailed aspects listed above didn't come up in the trailer directly. Honestly I think it was quite a bit improved from the past few since they didn't spend a quarter of the time just on describing a single pokemon. Plus, it's a story trailer for an open-world game. Of course it's going to be a bit jarring at times.

Call me crazy but I'm still holding out hope that, since there have been Pokemon presents in August for the past couple years, we may still get DLC along with Scarlet/Violet news.

@mom1fan I was thinking the same, though it seems like there's enough distinction for it to go either way.

I'll absolutely be getting this downloaded along with whatever day 1 update we need, I'm a sucker for outfit swaps and am happy to play around with them until we get the more substantial bits. And I'm more than happy to do a general playthrough the first time around and go back through it again once the story/character waves come out

As chaotic as the UI seems in that image, it doesn't seem like all that will be dumped on the player all within an hour or two of playing, which softens the blow a bit.

@DJDM It's also possible that the ones outside of the core 6 can't be actively influenced by the player and they're just assigned one at a time based on story sections.

@Vortexeo It's probably an entirely different format for coding the text boxes and scrolling if that were an option, aside from subtitles for voice acting segments.

Luckily a lot of videos online analyzing the leaks only address the pokemon/general gameplay mechanics while avoiding story content. So if you're just looking for a bit more on those fronts, there are plenty of streamers and such who have navigated the dangers first.

Ok this is very tangential about the article itself but two things:

• Were there no better images than just an egg and a Riolu from the egg?
• In my experience people generally refer to Black/White as the definitive DS pokémon games, are HGSS really that close for a lot of people?

Since it doesn't seem like it's come up yet, this is a far better analysis of Pokemon consumption than the Unraveled video that came out a little while ago.

I got through the second dungeon on Wii but never much past that besides enjoying the CD that came with it.
