@Swoltacular People like you are the ones who started by saying this game is too casual, and now are complaining that it's not allowing you to be competitively viable, which is also untrue. They aren't forcing you to change anything about your own moveset, just to be ready for anything coming from your opponent.
Even though I have it digitally, I still might pick it up, thanks to my soft spot for music games in general and complete adoration of this one in particular.
I'm sure some people have said this, but in the alleged story mode, we saw unlisted stages like the monster hunter one, which may be unlockable by beating the bosses or something similar.
I've actually thought that about Oshawott as well, but when you edit the images to take away the freckles, it does take away from the implicit character contained in the image.
I'm super excited for this already, but still holding out for some of the other more mechanically interesting characters, like Shoji and Ashido. More basic ones like Ojiro and Mineta, I could do without.
I completely agree. I can't count the hours I've spent hunting through the grass for specific pokemon, just to end up critical hitting them and having to start all over again. Very glad that in this installment, you can see the character sprites before the actual encounter, and there's no need to whittle down HP.
Deemo is one of my favorite games on the Switch (given I have a soft spot for music/rhythm games), and I would love the challenge of trying to estimate the intervals on a keyboard instead of just following the icons with my fingers.
@Yorumi They're probably waiting to see what people think of the idea in the first place before they go more interesting places. I wouldn't be surprised if they already have a lineup of concepts to use, probably similar to what you're thinking of.
I think it'll probably be using the same engine as the wii u version, but Nintendo does know what they're doing regarding smash. I don't think they'd give us this sort of trailer, let us hype each other up this much, and then give us virtually the same game. I do think they will carry over a lot of the content, but there will also probably be a lot more new stuff than some people are saying.
People seem to be forgetting that the variety pack, although it is pricey, comes with the game card, meaning that it's not just the 5 Toy-Cons that add up to the total amount, it's only the robot pack that is completely building materials.
Awesome. Just amazing. I think this is a great way to take the switch, which already has so many unique aspects. Lots of people are saying that it looks stupid, but they can take that salt and sprinkle it over where I live, because there's snow everywhere and I could use a few less icy patches.
And they won me over completely when it showed animations for how to put each thing together instead of an instruction booklet. Oh, the rage I've had towards folded paper!
The mini direct the other day also didn't have any live footage of the developers, which most directs usually do, in order to communicate more about the essence of the games to the viewers, which I found odd.
I think people are being overly critical of what was shown and the fact that it wasn't really any stuff from nintendo. It's a mini direct for a reason. Give them some more time to prep for the big new releases.
Lots of people comparing the art style to Mighty No. 9, but it seems less like 3D cell shading and more like 2.5D-type graphics. I think it looks amazing.
@justin233 I'm with you on both of those. Having a really polished platformer on the Switch will undoubtedly be amazing, and the feeling of completing a game centered around a few different types of collectibles is much different from most other genres.
There are a couple different improvements due to getting rid of lives. Now, similar to Link Between Worlds, the punishment for dying is losing something that is actually useful in other parts of the game (i.e. your rented items in Link Between Worlds). In addition, it also gives the developers an excuse to make more parts of the game harder. Half of the collectibles will probably be more easily accessible, and the others will most likely be for completionists who really want to put in the time and become masters of the game. Since dying a lot won't set you back all that much, there is no incentive to make everything a cakewalk.
I liked Sonic Colors, as did a lot of people, although I've never played Lost World. This seems like something of a combination of those and Generations, so very interesting in my book.
I haven't finished this yet, but it is already pretty difficult to get platinum on the normal stages; you basically need to strategize every single shot. I haven't done a lot of the EX levels, but they seem several times harder.
Dark Souls and Bloodborne made it very simple in their respective worlds, with a simple "YOU DIED" when... well, when you died. It made sense there, because the games were darker and death was kind of a theme no matter whether it was you or a giant skeleton thing. Mario and other Nintendo icons should have the freedom to keep things more lighthearted if it fits the core of the game more accurately.
Also, the Switch is meant to be more of a family console, so this gives much younger and much older people a fair shot at making their own progress.
