Re: Nintendo's Reggie Fils-AimΓ© Hits Back At Analysts After Recent Share Price Drop

NaturalGus

I love Metroid - I NEED Metroid - I have had an insatiable thirst for Metroid since Metroid 3 on SNES back in 1994. I still have the original cartridge I bought at Walmart when it came out. Some times I think Metroid is the reason I even still love Videogames. So was I upset that they didn't give us Prime 4 news? Yes, of course. But I don't think it's an inherently bad thing. He did say they would focus in games coming out within the next year. I can patiently wait for more news. Who knows if Metroid comes Holiday 2019, we might get a random Nintendo Direct in the next 6 months showing just that, and maybe pokemon, and kid icarus and starfox and f zero, etcetera etcetera... I love my Switch and I have SO many games for it at the moment that I don't think I'll beat them all before the release of Smash. It's my goal though. I am highly satisfied, and have no problem waiting for Metroid as long as it si GOOD and it is done right, the same way I felt about the BoTW delays. But what I find interesting about this article, is that Reggie said these games shown would be coming within the next 6 to 9 months - Which tells me that Fire Emblem's "Spring 2019" release date puts it at approximately between March 20 and April 12, 2019. That's a pretty well narrowed window. I can dig it.

Re: Deals: Buy a Deluxe Wii U from Nintendo for $200

NaturalGus

I find this disturbing. I've had my Wii U for a while now, I bought it used from Amazon and it came with 8 games. I paid 250. About 2 years ago, my friend bought hers and it only came with Nintendo land and Wii party u, and it cost her 200. Just a few months ago, my brother bought one with Mario Kart pre installed and it was 200. I know it's less money out of pocket. But For some reason, it feels as if they're raising their prices instead of dropping them.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of the Nintendo Switch?

NaturalGus

I honestly need to know if the TV display automatically shuts self off when Switch becomes undocked. It seems that way in the video, but it could also have some sort of button that one presses to Switch the display. I need to know if the display on the Switch can be active at the same time as the TV display, the way the Wii U game pad displays info at the same time as the TV screen. That can be a deal breaker for me. I love that about Wii U and would hate to take the step backward and lose that. It worked great in zelda TP & Wind Waker, and it worked awesomely in Mass Effect, resident evil revelations, zombie U, etc.. where you'd have ease of access to game info or items in your hand while still playing on the TV. But I'm only concerned about this because it wasn't shown off in the video. It may very well be a given, but it wasn't shown. Has anyone specified?

Re: Nintendo NX Production Reportedly Pushed Back To 2017 To Incorporate Virtual Reality

NaturalGus

Virtual Reality is a stupid concept for home gaming. Leave it for the video game bars and arcades. But for home consoles, it's a waste of resources. With Sony and oculus doing this dog and pony show to make us think it's the next big thing, it's hard to understand why Nintendo would just follow their lead instead of shooting it down and doing their own thing. NX sounds like a promising system, and I will be getting it at launch regardless of VR or not, but the VR thing is a passing fad, that will most likely already be dead and forgotten by the time NX sees light of day. So we will once again be considered the gamers who haven't caught up to current times. Which I guess as a Nintendo loyalist I should be used to by now.

Re: Art: If Nintendo Ever Took Zelda Into The Future, We'd Want Link To Look Like This

NaturalGus

@Detective_TeeJay trues.. But what IF.. the sword could have just limited range, maybe a short distance beam can shoot out at full charge spin attack, almost like a grounded sonic boom, but then your ray gun idea, can be just a power up item, like the slingshot was. Or maybe have a targeted beam replace the arrows. I know this isn't happening, but it would be pretty cool to futurize the hero of time like that. I like this concept, and your beam idea is pretty awesome too. I'd pay good money to play that.

Re: Five Wii U Releases Confirmed for Nintendo Selects Range in Europe

NaturalGus

So... Europe gets Wind Waker HD in the selects, but us North American gamers will not. That's not FAIR 😒 😞 😭 😭 I want to get WWHD but it's $59.99, USED... Which is how much I paid for TPHD brand new with amiibo included. What gives, Nintendo of America? Let me buy it for less already lol

Re: Rumour Buster: Let's Clarify Some Issues With Those Recent Nintendo NX Predictions

NaturalGus

The NX should not be "comparable" to Xbox one. It should be at least twice as powerful. Because it is after all, next gen. Not current gen. If a next gen system launches, and it's only as good as current gen systems, then it will be "dead in the water" as soon as Sony and Microsoft launch their next gen machines. I am seriously praying that this info is fake. Because Nintendo should know better by now.

Re: You Can Now Register for a Nintendo Account

NaturalGus

It was a smooth process for me and pretty quick and easy. I went as far as linking my Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ accounts since it was so simple lol.

To those who said you haven't received the email with the code, I don't know why that may be or anything. But double check your spam folder, some times my emails end up there for some odd reason. This one came through normal for me, but just throwing that out there, wouldn't hurt.

Re: Japanese Analyst Claims NX Could Launch As Early As October, Will Eat Into Wii U And 3DS Sales

NaturalGus

What if Nintendo have been secretly working on a plethora of launch titles for NX and reveal it at e3? Like some remixes, remakes, remasters, and sequels. Maybe they launch it with a surprising new EPIC entry of Kid Icarus?? Maybe they finally bring mario galaxy3, and a new metroid, or maybe zelda and starfox for Wii U get an NX rollover? maybe they hit us with an F Zero while they're at it, just for good measure. What if the NX only has like 10 official titles at launch, but they are really GOOD titles. I mean, we all should remember that the n64 had less than one fourth the amount of launch titles as Wii U, and it did pretty good. I know I sound like a broken record when I say this but I honestly wish that the NX is as impactful / successful as the SNES was, and I am looking forward to it with a very positive mind

Re: Koei Tecmo's President Seems To Think NX Is A Home Console First And Foremost

NaturalGus

Truth is, that ANY SYSTEM that unifies a company's handheld and domestic console markets, will in fact be primarily a Home console. Regardless to whom or what, it is inevitable that it would be primarily a Home Console. Some of us have PS Vita's or the New Nintendo 3DSXL, or whatever, and use them mostly as our primary game system while at Home. So, what constitutes a home system? The fact that it hooks up to a TV, and that's about it. So, if a 3DS hooked up to a TV, one would treat it as a Home Console. We saw Nintendo testing the waters with this through the use of 3DS as a controller in Smash Bros for Wii U, as well as "gamepad only" options for some games. So, the fact of the matter is, that saying "Koei Tecmo's President Seems To Think NX Is A Home Console First And Foremost" is the same as saying "Coca Cola's President Seems To Think Burger King Is A Burger Place First And Foremost"
I mean, true, BK also sells fries, and drinks, and smoothies, and nuggets, but they're a burger place.
So, yeah, true NX will be many things, but it's a Home Console.
My apologies to Tecmo's president, but stating the obvious won't fuel up the hype train, but hey it might keep it running at least.

Re: Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima Has Published a New Message for Shareholders and Investors

NaturalGus

I remember the NES days fondly, but I fell in love with Nintendo during the SNES years. Mainly Super Metroid caught my heart. I was very disappointed when the life cycle of the n64 went by and there was no Metroid for the system, other than Samus being in the original Smash bros. But then they came and more than made up for it with the Metroid Prime series on the GameCube. Right now I am having flashbacks or dejavu from the n64 days, because the Wii U is just as awesome as the n64 but the lack of Metroid is disturbing, other than the presence of Samus in Smash bros. History is repeating itself, I hope, and in 2016 I pray we hear some great news involving Metroid for NX. It really is my favorite franchise and it is what I want to see the most.

Re: Nintendo NX Doesn't Need To Compete With PlayStation 4 And Xbox One To Be A Success, Claims Analyst

NaturalGus

Unfortunately, we have been one full generation behind other systems since thE Wii was born. I was personally ok with falling behind because current gen games all seemed to begin to revolve around battle arena, wars, or sports. I could not find an experience as complete as Metroid Prime 3 on any other system. I could also not find such satisfying game play and story telling as Twilight Princess on any other system. Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 proved that the Wii was worth more than its weight in gold as well. The Wii U looked very promising at launch with so much 3rd party support but in due time, it turned out to be more 2nd party and 1st party titles that executed correctly, so 3rd party developers began shying away from the awesome system. They gravitated toward the more powerful machines because of the ease of development, the more capable systems made it less complicated to port games. So even though the Wii U is more powerful than the ps3 and xbox360, there are ps4 and xboxOne titles that get a ps3 and xbox360 port but no Wii U port. Thusly making us Wii U owners feel as if we are stuck in the gap between the last gen and the one before it, not even the current one. So, hearing now, that the NX "MIGHT" be "as powerful" as the ps4 or xboxOne Simply let's me know that we will always be at LEAST a generation and a half behind. Because let's be honest here, as soon as the NX was hinted at, Microsoft and Sony began to pump more money into the development of their respective next gen consoles, so when NX finally gets revealed, guess what, ps5 and Xbox4 will get a set of specs that makes the NX sound like too little too late. So the story will repeat itself again, we will be hoping to get a vibrant library of games for our shiny new NX but will get limited titles which I'm sure will be breathtaking and amazing, but not plentiful. What I am wishing, hoping, praying for, is that the NX packs more than twice the power of CURRENT gen consoles and Nintendo takes things back to the days of "now you're playing with power" and the NX has as much 3rd party support and success as the Super Nintendo did, making the statement that proves Nintendo really has to be the leader of this industry we all love so much.

Re: DeNA Executive Confirms Plans For Five Nintendo Smart Device Games in Five Genres

NaturalGus

I became a bit confused at the part that said "RPG casual games" that sounded like an oxymoron. oxymoron to me for sec. But anyhow, I think they should consider a Free-to-play Kirby game, with the end-level being what brings up your currency to purchase more levels and special stages. Let us buy more currency if we want but also let us earn them and maybe buy new power ups and /or abilities or costumes. I feel Kirby is the perfect candidate for this type of thing.

Re: Poll: Which Characters Do You Want to Win the Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot?

NaturalGus

Let's be honest with ourselves. Any of these would be good to have. I know some of us would purchase all of them just for the sake of having them. But again, let's not kid ourselves; we KNOW why Banjo Kazooie are not an option on this poll. Microsoft has a death grip on the rights. Which is why, obviously, Nintendo used the Duck Hunt dog and duck duo instead. I am sure Banjo Kazooie would play exactly the same and have pretty much all the same moves. I wouldn't mind Scrooge McDuck from Ducktales, since Capcom let them use mega man already it should be OK I think. Or if not, they can just throw in Cranky Kong and give him all the moves they would have given to scrooge. It's a win/win. But, what I want to see, NEED to see, and have been begging to see since they announced Smash Bros for Wii U, is Klonoa! The dude fits perfectly in this game. His moves, power ring and double jump, Boomerang, bat, his ears that help him float, and just his spunk and all together look, is perfect for smash bros. Pac man needs a fellow Namco partner for team battles, come on.... Klonoa is who I voted for on the Smash Bros site, but on this poll I choose Bayonetta. Just because.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Confirms Playable Star Fox for E3, a Future for F-Zero and More

NaturalGus

@DESS-M-8
I liked f zero and enjoyed playing it I'm small doses. But it was repetitive and lacked replay value. That's just my opinion. I respect yours.

And to those who claim animal crossing is great just because it sold seven million or some odd number of copies, please remember that Justin Bieber sold millions of records and we all know he still sucks. So numbers mean very little when it comes to the actual quality of content.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Confirms Playable Star Fox for E3, a Future for F-Zero and More

NaturalGus

@potamus24 yes i am serious. And I am aware of the reason he was in Smash, and quite happy about his inclusion. But the definition of overrated is to have received a good rating without deserving it, so yes f zero is overrated and yes metroid and zelda are great. Even at their worst, both have been better than f zeros best. While I can agree that the game hasn't gotten a proper treatment while the others have, I still can't see why people actually overhype the franchise so much. F zero at its absolute best moments is just plain good. Not great. Not by a long shot. People just love to love it. That's good and all but let's not turn a blind eye.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Confirms Playable Star Fox for E3, a Future for F-Zero and More

NaturalGus

I am excited about starfox. Between that and Metroid, I myself have been thinking of Awesome ways to use the game pad for those games. As far as F Zero, it's far too overrated of a game and it has been since the SNES days. Captain Falcons appearance in the smash franchise is awesome but it ends there. They need to avoid wasting energy and resources in making any more and focus on new IP or Kid Icarus or metroid for the wii u. Same goes for pikmin and animal crossing, just stop making them and bring out the big guns. ZELDA AND STARFOX IN 2015 OH Yeah!!! plus splatoon can't hurt lol

Re: Video: What Could Super Mario Galaxy Look Like In HD?

NaturalGus

i feel the wind waker hd was awesome but not a significant leap since the standard def graphics were fantastic to begin with. same thing.with mario galaxy. running galaxy in 480p has pretty much felt like HD on that game anyway. what i WOULD like to see is an HD remake of Mario 64 or Ocarina of Time. Look to the N64 for games that are in dire need of an HD treatment, not the wii or gamecube, those are already ok

Re: Talking Point: The Watch_Dogs Wii U Delay Demonstrates That Major Third-Parties Are Walking Away

NaturalGus

you know what? this article does make a few good points but i still disagree. not in a confrontational fanboy way, but in a sense of perspective switch. the way i see it; if a company decides to delay the wii u version then that means they wont be rushing an unfinished product and want to polish it enough to exploit its full potential on the platform. that, to me, says that they have some sort of confidence that the extended amount of work will be worth it and that it will move units. if they didnt care they would either pull out entirely or push it out without adjusting it to adapt to wii u's specs. So in conclusion, i dont think the question is whether or not major third parties departures hurt the system, it is whether or not other third parties will invest the kind of time ubisoft is willing to invest to make sure they push a quality product.

Re: Nintendo Patented an "Illumination Device" for Gaming Use

NaturalGus

But microsoft was able to sucessfully patent illumiroom... i mean im not sure how patents work, but i thought if it already existed or was too similar to something that already existed, the patent wasnt awarded. Did microsoft buy it from Nintendo like sony bought PlayStation? Or did microaoft patent it firsr preventing nintendo from going forward?

Re: Nintendo of America Offers Stock of Refurbished Wii U Deluxe Sets for $250

NaturalGus

thats not a good enough deal. For $319 Walmart has a brand new 32GB system (not refurbished) that comes with new super mario bros u and new super luigi u PLUS your choice of two more games and/or accessories, which is the bundle I ordered (my two games of choice were Assassins Creed 3 and Mass Effect 3. So for $69 more you can get 4 full games instead of the mnigame collections, as well as a new out of the box, never before touched, shiny console. mine should arrive by Thursday.

Re: Zelda Unveiled as New Smash Bros. Challenger

NaturalGus

So many unimpressive reveals. i could have sworn she was already a confirmed character. im still waiting for the cool NEWCOMER characters to be released. Rosalina is cool but villager looks as lame as jigglypuff. the wii fit trainer seems as cheap as mr game & watch, and megaman looks like an awesome addition. we need more ground breaking reveals along the lines of the mega man one. so far, the game seems yo be good, maybe as goos as brawl even, but i wont judge it before playing it. i just feel like either the game is just a brawl remix and not quite a new entry, or there is a WHOLE LOT theyre not showing us. So far 20 characters or so revealed, and still feels like an empty roster. must mean theres a hell of a lot more to the game than jist characters. maybe new modes new options new customization stuff or creations, or perhaps there is a 65 character roster or something crazy that will make it better than the previous smash.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Resilience Against Wii U Criticism Emphasizes Its Longevity

NaturalGus

the wii u is a great and powerful system with a unique approach to gaming. the current situation is only due to the lack of proper marketing for it. that is nintendos fault. instead of investing money into marketing and pushing software for the wii u, they are wasting money in marketing and pushing software for a system that doesnt need help, the 3DS. it doesnt need help, it is already a success. why not push the wii u? heck, i would do it for them. id do it for free. great marketing. how about a series of commercials joking about "how dumb you have to be to think the wii u is still a wii". a sarcastic line of condescending commercials to make people talk. in the style of smartdonkey 90s kids. whatever. thats just ONE idea, but come on, make some more wii u commercials instead of expecting it to push itself.

Re: The Wii U Nintendo Network Will Connect to EA's Origin

NaturalGus

I don't see an issue. Sounds like the account "set up" will be simple it simply accesses your Nintendo Network account and autofills it. Even if it doesn't, what's the big deal? it's only a one time set up with no fee. I'm not the type of gamer who looks for things to complain about. It's gaming, it's a service, it's an engine, you sign up, you set up, and you play. It would be a little unfair to EA if they were told tey had to do things differenty just becauase it's a Nintendo system. I am 100% behind this online system. Let's not get lazy and complain about having to set up.

Re: Behold The Ungodly Union Of The Wii U Pro Controller And SNES Pad

NaturalGus

not a fan of the colorful button display. Maybe its a US thing, but I'd be psyched if they did the grey and indigo buttons instead, like the US Super Nintendo. At first glance this looks like a toy version of an XBox controller. The idea is in the right direction, but I'm not entirely sure if it is what it needs to be yet.

Re: Want to Know Why Rayman Legends is a Wii U Exclusive?

NaturalGus

i wasnt a big fan of rayman at all until i played origins on te wii. But in regards to the Wii-U's specific mechanics possibly resulting in lack of 3rd Party support, I sincerely doubt that. See, in my point of view, The Wii U is not JUST about the gamepad. It has next generation graphocs, HD, and a pro controller which gives it the ability to downgrade itself as much as it needs to in order to match other consoles. The gamepad isn't a mandatory tool, from what i understand. I personally believe it is a nice addition and would not be at all disenchanted by a game that uses it only to display the game's logo on it as you play. I think if consumers want to play a game that doesnt require it, they can still do so without a pro controller.

Re: Reggie Promises Steady Stream Of Wii U Consoles

NaturalGus

I don't see anywhere in this article, Reggie promising a steady stream of anything. He simply dodged the subject and said his job is to ensure there is high demand. High demand doesn't mean high supply. As a Nintendo fan, I am genuinely scared that some of us will be left out for a long time.
