@NintendoKnight as much as I like Arceus - and I do - it just isn't the same as a mainline Mon game. The lack of breeding, stats not really mattering and hardly new Mons...just not the same.

I welcome Gen 9. Excited about it even. Pokemon is riding a high wave right now - quality has improved and the fandom has increased. Any company not willing to capture that is a failing company.

@Ogbert It's also super cheap to buy apparently. I picked up a set and it cost me $7.55 to ship. $8 is like no money right now. A bad sandwich.

I miss my Ace Combat 4 days. That was a long time ago. One of my first forays into online gaming.

I am now assuming Nintendo is going to keep adding large DLC every 6 - 12 months on well established games as part of the expansion pass - so I'm going to go ahead and bite. I feel it is worth it now and will continue to add value over the year.

@Rainz chin up- Cuphead is releasing DLC after an almost 5 year wait - anything is possible.

@Scrubicius I am not convinced the $70 has been adopted on the other consoles. From sales numbers I'd argue it has tempered sales.

Most consumers fall into the trap of thinking that just because a company can raise prices infinitely that they will. They is a price point consumers are not willing to pay - or buy far less of.

100%. I've already started priming myself. It's funny. I find it more complicated to restart a game I've put down for a long time than I do starting fresh. I'm back to using noobie weapons like Dual Sword. I'm ranked 200 fighting the likes of Izuchi just trying to get my chops back. It's hard!

I'm considering it only because I really like this game. I usually never consider the fancy editions but Capcom does a pretty good job with theirs.

I'm the opposite. I thought Party Superstars should have been dlc for the latest MParty instead of a separate cartridge.

@Williamfuchs420 I suppose. Rise is the first MH game I've really sunk my teeth into and to be frank - I avoid most of the DLC info to avoid major spoils. I already know I'm in in a big way.

I feel like The King of All Cosmos in Katamari Damacy was heavily influenced by Tingle.

As has been said many times before - I don't think any game in the history of the medium had such coincidental perfect timing. To be honest I think the people who had ACNH rather than the people who didn't - probably were able to cope better with lockdowns and bad tidings.

The game was and still is like meditation. I can't tell you how many reams of forum code has been wasted over the decades of gamers asking for games that "don't have a treadmill", "is played just for fun's sake", etc. This is that game. It is perfect and pure. I don't think the gaming event will ever be replicated - it felt like you were part of something good during a bad time.

Picking it up now will never have that same feeling or effect. Frankly - you either get it or you don't. If you were on the outside looking in during March/April of 2020 you will just never get it.

@Joeynator3000 compared to the United States - the UK market barely exists. So they have to entice people to spend on games outside of a clear norm.

Look at how often the NPD list changes in the US. It is constantly flowing. The UK list? It is the same top 10 for like 3 years. The UK apparently buys what everyone else buys and only buys that forever. And they don't spend nearly as much as the US/Japan. So you must entice with bs trinkets you have in a box in the corner of your warehouse.

Marketing. Simple.

The only mistake I think Capcom is making in this rollout if the 7* requirement. For any new player coming in because of the dlc release I think it would be better if you could enter the new island sooner - just be able to do lower level quests and what not. It may turn a few 100 (1000?) people off and I feel that the more new players who play Rise the better. It is easily one the console's best (objective fact).

Kind of how Burnout Paradise did it back in the day. If you bought the dlc all areas unlocked.

@Axecon Because pre-orders are slow and they need to up demand. That is why marketers do this type of thing. Not because they care about the UK over any place.

Without being specific - I have received much better gifts from my company than a sticker placed over on a recent game. For his sake, I hope he has as well.

It is good this game is failing and it is enjoyable to watch Square Enix suffer for their bad decisions regarding this project.

That is something I'd pay money for. It's easy to forget just how good some of the Cube's games were. As good as Breath is, I still think Wind Waker is the high water mark of Zelda games. Tingle is the greatest NPC in the history of all media.

@Joeynator3000 I don't think their original tables even scratch the surface of the Williams classics. Medieval Madness, Whitewater, Funhouse...

@durrdevil the entire narrative of "our new physics engine is so much better than the previous one we couldn't possibly do anything other than make a new game for you to buy the same tables again" argument is wearing quite thin with Zen.

I have purchased every table on the Switch; most tables on Steam and even more under the FX1 banner on the 360.

So I consider myself an ardent fan.

$15 is exorbitant and far too much money. There are far better Williams tables than Indy at a fraction of the price.

I've really been diving into games I haven't played in a while. Zelda BOTW, Pikmin 3, MH Rise.

I'm in that weird place I do in Pokemon games (and other games I really like) where I know I'm at the end but I stall so the main story doesn't end. I do anything but advance the quest.

@Aerona I'm down with MTG and Pokemon. I love TCGs so I gave it an honest go. It is intensely complicated though imo. anyway, take it easy!

I don't agree with the first two at all. Hard mode should be "once you are in you are IN." No going easy mode chump.

And for #2? Every game has it's nuances - don't like the function of a particular game's platforming don't play it.

Easy mode switching isn't a necessity.

@russell-marlow No not really. To be honest I thought I was too old for Poke or Yu at that time. Now I like the old cartoons.

The art style did always turn me off though.

@Aerona I agree that it isn't pay to win but I found the learning curve so steep it was insurmountable. I was playing and was like, "this is based off that terrible kid's show? this is the most complicated card game that exists!" After a few hours of playing and youtube researching decks - I discovered time would be more fun elsewhere.

@KateGray 30 is young. but I call every lady 'young lady'. little kids get a kick out of it, teenagers seem to think of it as more important, older ladies think it's flirty and old ladies think I'm being a gentleman.
