@Olmectron this is true. But often time the dub is vastly superior to the original. Examples are each and every Miyazaki movie, Cowboy Beebop and One Punch Man. For the last one I find OPM completely unwatchable with Japan VA. Over-the-top where no matter what is happening it sounds like week-long constipated person trying to make a bowel movement. Or a breathy female who sounds like she just walked out of a bedroom session for every female or a squeaky 3 year old Disney character for every girl under 14.

Redundant and ultimately boring to me. Weeaboo fascination with bad voice work in Japanese cartoons always seems disingenuous as best - an outright lie at worst. It is mostly all bad.

I won't purchase games or watch movies without an English dub. Like Miyazaki himself, I find Japanese voice work abhorrent.

@duffmmann as bad as Nokia might be today I kinda miss their old phones. You could throw one off of a mountain into a running stream and it would still work.

I wish the big phone manufacturers would take the approach of durability Nokia did.

@nhSnork Someone should probably resurrect the NGage name. Buy it from Nokia possibly - since they are not capable of anything meaningful any longer. It was a horrible design but the name was slightly clever. It would go a long way with the current populace I think.

With this and the MK DLC the online pass is looking more and more like a thing worth getting - especially assuming they are adding more in the future.

@FantasiaWHT I know a family that received a million or so and invited about 20 people on a huge, expensive lake vacation. "It has been a VERY good year for us because of covid relief funds" was their exact quote. Emphasis on very. They were wealthy before the pandemic.

@FixMadden22 what isn't funny is how often the US government was defrauded on stuff like this on people who didn't actually need the money - while the people who truly needed it were given no assistance. But the tax payer is still on the hook for Charizard cards, etc.

The entire operation was a scam.

LA is the pits no rational person would spend a second in that awful place.

The deluge on constant stories that come out about Blizzard - sexual misconduct, insider trading (Kotick and Barry Diller), paying employees slave wages - all of the fans who continue to purchase their games are 100% complicit in their actions. They know Activision cannot stop acting in immoral activity and yet they can't face their addictions in a meaningful way and just stop.

It is so exhausting listening to gamers who wag their fingers but cannot stop taking part in Activision's illicit activities. You deserve each other.

@honshu people fly all over the place for a lot of things. But LA is one of the worst places on earth right now.

I'd probably lump Disgaea 5 into Disgaea 1-5. Great game; great series.

@JasmineDragon I've preordered three games on amazon and not one has ever come any less than a week after release day. Some as a Prime member some not.

I did it again on Arceus because Day 1 wasn't a priority for me. It came a week late again. I dropped prime this year (it feels great by the way).

Maybe. For those that don't understand what Arceus is - it is a one off. There won't be any poke transfers or any of that. Go ahead and get your anger out now so you can breathe later. Throw a few pillows around and have a drink.

Funny - I was just listening to this album on a road trip through West Virginia a week ago. There really won't even be another collab like that again I think. Heck, no one would really care if today's artists got together. Not saying today's music is bad - just few and far between and awfully forgettable.

@Ellie02 for a first game the quality of Cuphead by Studio MDHR is off the charts.

imho, I'd buy the game on one of it's frequent sales for the artwork and voice work alone.

I didn't think this one would get a demo - seeing how so many are familiar with Kirby. Super pumped - even though I was buying this one anyway.

Summer game with the fam is Kirby this year!

This past weekend I was at a house party with tons of kids and they were camped at the tv watching the show. They have no idea it is a video game. So it is resonating with the audience that really matters - little kids.

@itslukec I'm not mad - I am just not enjoying the experience. Like you, I kinda don't even want to play it now - or the future discounts will be so deep on the eshop it makes be feel dumb for owning the cart.

I like physical carts over drives but at the end of the day who cares really?

I ordered Axiom Verge 1 and 2. I was excited about it at first now I don't really care.

Japanese developer's base salary was $28,000? In Japan - one of the most expensive places to live on the planet.

It's somewhat comforting to know green game developers are treated like garbage the world over. How anyone works in the game industry as a non-suit is beyond me.

@Qphlat27 I bought a game on Limited back in October that is still in production. I will never do this again. Giving them money, which then in turn cannot be refunded no matter what only to wait for their schedule was really dumb in hindsight.
