My Nintendo is offering up some Nintendo 64 themed keychains soon, based on original NA box art for games featured in the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack.
There are two sets available from My Nintendo in the region, each with a pair that'll set you back 500 Platinum Points. The lineup currently consists of Star Fox 64 and Mario Kart 64 in Set A, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64 in Set B. They even include a cute little ESRB rating!
Nintendo 64 Inspired Keychains – Add a new dimension of fun with keychains inspired by classic Nintendo 64 games included in the Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Switch Online library. These keychains will be available soon, so save up those Platinum Points and stay tuned for more info!
$6.99 is the base shipping cost if you like the look of these and it'll set you back 1000 Platinum Points for all four.
Are leaning more towards Set A or Set B, or are you planning on picking all of them up? Let us know in the usual place.

That is way too big for a keychain
What about the UK 😥
they look really nice....(kinda kappin
I wish they were able to have some of the 3rd party games there. Give me a WinBack/Banjo Kazooie keychain any day!
I’m drooling over the Zelda one omg.. can I just buy it 🤔
Trigger pulled. Thanks for the heads up, NL!
Starfox lookin nice
Warning:Cancer and reproductive harm.
(It actually says this at the bottom of the product description on My Nintendo. Excuse me!? So I can feed my nostalgia but give up having children. WHAT!?)
@sketchturner it said the exact same thing on the Mario ornament box I ordered and was giving to my nephew as an add on to his Christmas present. I still gave it to him (after advising my sister and having her say it's not actually an issue) but it was definitely, uh, not a pleasant thing to see on a cheery Nintendo product lol
@1UP_MARIO You get the Triangle Strategy pins that I want but can't get in the US.
@Jmjfrank @sketchturner It's a California law, products that use chemicals that cause cancer and reproductive harm have to have that warning to be distributed in the state of California, the problem is sometimes those chemicals have to be absorbed into the body a certain way for it to actually be harmful. Some need to be inhaled or ingested and the law is very broad and doesn't distinguish how a product is harmful or that it's risk factor is low or high.
As long as you wash your hands before eating after touching them and avoid sucking on these products (a young child might do that), and avoid smelling the product or inhaling dust and flakes that come off (like paint chipping off) them you should mostly be fine.
Could do without the ESRB label, it’s like a Gamestop sticker covering up the box art.
@sketchturner It's a California thing. Apparently there's a law that says you either need to prove your product doesn't cause cancer (expensive), or slap a warning label on it (cheap). Most companies opt for the simplicity of a warning label.
@Gitface as always the US gets majority of the good stuff. The rest of us occasionally get something good and that’s if we’re lucky. 😀
Heck yes on Set B!
@1UP_MARIO Lol It really depends on one's interests. For example, we don't often get steelbooks over here and normally have to import.
@Mountain_Man 🤪
Thanks for explaining. Boy, the world we live in sure is crazy.
Order in for both! Thanks NL!
@Gitface @1UP_MARIO Do a trade, pins for keychains 😎
I'd be more interested if one of the keychains was for Mischief Makers.
Just ordered mine. Will go good with my Mario anniversary pins
@sketchturner California is a special breed of crazy.
These look pretty basic to me, this typenog keychain is super cheap to make. Give me a tiny box printed on all sides or a tiny cartridge. Something more bespoke!
Just ordered both sets. These are very cool! Glad I saw this before they were gone.
I bought those so fast because I was afraid they would sell out in minutes like all physical things... Didn't look at them properly, I thought it was the full box, not just miniature print of the front image, well better than nothing I guess
As usual Europe gets nothing but wallpapers you can get on Google. Thanks Nintendo keep being you 👍
@Medic_Alert ...and people will lose their minds over them.
Figures. Europe gets sick posters, US gets a bunch of crappy keychains.
@Ogbert It's also super cheap to buy apparently. I picked up a set and it cost me $7.55 to ship. $8 is like no money right now. A bad sandwich.
I won't make it for $8. Will you? So thanks Nintendo.
One thing that's too bad is that you can no longer redeem points to secure the item, and then use the code to actually place the order and pay for the shipping at a later date. (I used to do that so that I could wait and see what other items became available before the code expired, to get more items I would actually want and combine shipping at that point.) Now you go right to the Nintendo Online Store before redeeming the points, and can't secure the item until after finishing the order and paying the shipping. Which means I have to either use up more points right now on something I don't particularly want, or paid the $7 (which is twice what the shipping should actually cost for something this light) for just the one item. I only really wanted the Ocarina of Time and Mario 64 set. Not sure if I care enough about it to both use up points and pay the shipping, though. Meh. If it sells out soon, so be it.
@MostHandsieBoy Just searching 'custom keychain' on Esty and I can get one with free shipping for £1.99.
So yeah...that $8 shipping is not a great deal.
@Ogbert awesome, I hope you enjoy your etsy keychain. I got this one.
@MostHandsieBoy Oh I'm not buying one, they're boring bog standard keychains. But I am, genuinely, glad you are happy with yours and don't mind overpaying for it.
These look really great. I just don't want anymore things in my pockets than I need.
