I have a brand spanking new Series X coming in tomorrow because of the backwards compatibility, also digital purchases work across all Xbox consoles. I'd say Spencer is doing what he can within the law.
I stopped playing pokemon because it is virtually the same exact story and progression every single game. You are a trainer, work your through the gyms, stop an evil plot, become champion. zzz.... Do something new please!
I put 40 minutes into it. It's good. Action sequences haven't changed all that much, but then, they didn't need to. The town portions have been significantly beefed up, including tower defense sections and little mini action levels.
As soon as this was announced, I was pressing F on NIntendo.com waiting for it be released. I don't care if the graphics aren't that great(neither were the original's TBH) as long as the game is fun to play(which it was). Also I got a code for wallpaper and BGM. RAD!
People are forgetting the reason the reason MP4 was revealed in 2017 was because the game was in development at Bandai Namco(I think it was). Then Nintendo looked at what it was and realized it was garbage, and gamers deserved better. So they restarted from scratch. I don't think anythings was kept. So by the metric, the game essentially started development last year and not whenever the last version was.
I have not bought TOK, I probably will not buy TOK, at least for awhile. But you know what? Its great that it sold so well. Congratulations, Nintendo. As for the argument there is nothing to play, there is plenty to play. Maybe there aren't a lot of AAAs right now, but there is plenty out there.
I downloaded it and played it for a bit. As a teenager, I wasn't particularly impressed with it. As an adult, I can really appreciate how good it really was. This is definitely worth a purchase, and has more bells and whistles than the N64 version did.
I hate mobile games because 99% of them aren't really games, there is very little actual game play in them, its all about spending that cash. Nintendo is in the business of making games, not slot machines, and they didn't want to tarnish their reputation making slot machines, so they left the mobile market. Good for them.
@DK-Fan It is not a question of taste. Most mobile games aren't games, they're predatory gambling programs that exist to bilk players of nearly unlimited amounts of cash for almost nothing in return. A least a real slot machine has a chance of giving you real money in return. Loot boxes give you nothing tangible in return.
Pre-purchased it last Monday! Makes a great time waster at work or something to play while watching something at home. It also doesn't hurt that I loved Clubhouse games for the DS too.
I'll leave my 2cents: Nintendo doesn't really innovate with their core franchises as much as some people want to admit. Animal Crossing is fundamentally the same game it always has been. Smash is too. So is Pokemon(i've stopped playing mainline because its the same game with the same formulaic story since 1998). Zelda was stuck in the same old formula until BOTW. Meanwhile, Capcom sticks with what works, but also innovates. The first Resident Evil is dinosaur compared to modern iterations. Even Street Fighter 2 is when compared with Street fighter 5.
If they bring any of these series back, they really can't be less than stellar games. Let's take Streets of Rage 4, for example. They dug up a franchise that had been dead for 26 years, and made an awesome game that meets or exceeds the 3 other entries. But image if SOR4 had stunk, what a bummer that'd be. IF Nintendo brings any of them back, they better be awesome, or why resurrect them at all?
@CupidStunt Correct. Its insanely hard with a terrible checkpoint system(you restart the level every time you die). Hopefully they fix this for the re-master.
I played More Friends of Mineral Town(the girl version) because that's what I had. I'll never forget chopping wood while pregnant while my husband stood around and did nothing! Good times. Maybe I'll pick this up.
The actual worst game of 2019 on Switch is probably some $2.99 shovelware game that Nintendolife didn't bother to review. If Nintendolife chooses to review a game, it probably has SOME merit.
First game: Puyo-Puyo Tetris Total hours: 295 Total games: 43 Top 5: Civilization 6 Stardew Valley Mario Maker 2 My Time at Portia Fire Emblem Three Houses
If it was a replacement for memory cards where you store your saved games on a hard drive, I'd be there day one. But its just a storage box for less than 10 games. I have 130+ N64 games, which means I'd have to stack at least 13 of these to store all my games. No thanks.
I always see the Switch as the Indie Machine, where you play mostly indie titles, and first party Nintendo games. Third party AAAs, while nice, are never really in the switch e-shop best sellers list consistently. Therefore, I can see the Switch surviving for a long time simply being the indie machine and not relying on AAAs outside of Nintendo.
Bought Grip, cause I'm a sucker for futuristic racing games. Not really interested in much else because I would've bought it if I wanted it already. :/
I find it interesting that companies think if its for little kids, they can shovel poorly made garbage at kids and they won't know any better. This is a case in point. They deserve better than this!
If you didn't have to restart the entire damn level when you died, Shadowman would've been a total immortal classic. Instead you started the level again when you died, which got annoying after awhile.
The game may truer to the original IP, but people don't know the comics as much as they know the gritty FPS games, and that's what people want. Honestly this seems like a generic indie game with Turok slapped on to sell more copies.
I loved the OOT soundtrack, my favorite track is the Spirit Temple track, with the ORIGINAL Fire Temple theme as a close second as the Adhan was perfectly used in it(though I understand why they had to take it out).
@gimmi_c Given what we know about Google Stadia and its pricing and bandwidth requirements, its not going to do very well. They don't need to team up. Google will take down itself.
As for what this could be, I'd bet its Xbox services on Switch.
You know what's 16 years-old at this point? F-Zero GX. If there's anything that needs a new title, its F-Zero. Will we get it? No, but one can always dream.
I actually sat through the whole game and much of the DLC campaign. The missions are kinda bland, along with the story, the fun of blowing stuff up never got old to me. Some the explosion challenges were interesting and actually challenging.

I love Event Horizon the movie. It's easily in my top 5 favorite movies. "Where we're going, we don't need eyes to see!" I always cheer at that line ^-^ This game... uhhh... no. I'll pass.
