I'm more interested in what is Under Night In-Birth and why is it taking up a spot at EVO?

First, Nintendo, being Japanese to the bone, would never in a million years sell out to a foreign company, not happening.
Now, can I see this rumor being true? Yes. It makes sense given that Microsoft and Nintendo have been friendly towards each other in recent months.
And Cuphead on Switch, yes please!

I wanted Tetris Effect to come out for the Switch, but barring that(never happening), this is the next best thing.

Its funny to me that people are arguing and fighting over an objectively terrible game, with little to no actual gameplay.
Believe me, I own the PS4 version, this game is trash. You're not really losing much.
Still, its people like @lildoggo48 who are the reason the game isn't coming out over here, constantly screaming about misogyny and objectification.
So men want to dress up women in bikinis and take pictures of them. What is the harm? How does this affect women? It doesn't.

I have Snowboarding: The Next Phase. I've been playing it more than some other more expensive titles. Its fun, its made for pick-up and play and it is overall very well made.
Really worth the $10.

@SuperGhirahim64 While the title is clickbait, what the president was saying makes a lot of sense. If the market moves away from console development to say, mobile gaming, and they need to do it to survive, they will move along with the market.

Streets of Rage 1-3 looked as they did because that was the graphical standard at the time. Now 25 years later, they're taking a modern approach to graphics and it looks lovely.

What I want from Sakurai is a brand new Meteos game.

@ErnisDy I think I advanced faster than the general population because I did play a lot, which is why its hard to find a group. I'm now taking a "smash break" and hopefully that'll give a chance for people to play catchup.

I'm hesitant, what were they thinking with the rap music? That was terrible. Let us pray this game is not an microtransaction watered down mess of a game.

One million players on switch, but I can't find a group past Ceres. I'm stuck on Uranus because public groups are nil.

I imported the ps4 version because... I'm not sure anymore. The game is rubbish. Its really just an excuse to take creepy pictures of DOA girls in bikinis and that's really about it.
You can play Volleyball, but there really isn't a point to it.
I'd even say its worse than the previous 2 due to the presence of microtransactions.

@retro_player_22 The n64 had 388 and boy did people complain about a lack of games for that system. Now the switch has 1000 more games and people are still complaining.

No. This looks to be a boring twin-stick shooter with zero potential.

I don't get this review, what were they expecting? This is not a simulation. This is insane arcade football and extremely fun. I like it a lot!

Like others, i have to wonder how many people saying they won't buy it because of this, wouldn't have bought it anyway.
Civilization just isn't a game that's suited for online play. I mean you can, but its not ideal.
I'll still be picking this up regardless of online play or not.

I remember this game, spending literally an hour on the beatnik poetry section thinking it was a puzzle of some kind, only to read it wasn't a puzzle at all and you didn't need to impress the beatniks to move on.

So much gaming goodness. I don't have the money to buy all I want. Smash, Pokemon, Civ 6, Grip, Diablo ect.
Going to have gamefly most of them.

Does the switch need more AAA games? Yes.
Does the Switch have no games to play? No it does not. It has plenty.

Look if you can't find stuff to play, its you, not the system. Because with 1300 games, there's something in there you can find to play.

This article is timely because I'm currently on retro-buying spree with my PSP, building up a small collection of games.
Its sad to see Sony leave, but they completely fumbled the VITA after the relative success of the PSP. Sure it never touched the DS, but it was a good system with lots of good games on it.

@Tirza Well you can feel sad for the people losing their jobs and not play their games.
I'm sort of like that, I miss their stuff prior to TWD, the proper adventure game stuff(Puzzles). But that company has been dead and gone for years, haven't played a TellTale game since the borderlands game some years ago.
Still sad its closing for the people out of a job in the Bay Area.

I used to love Telltale games, the resurgence of adventure games, except in an episodic fashion. Then the The Walking Dead hit and they turned from proper adventure games to interactive movies and saturated the market with them. I lost interest.
Quantity over quality seemed to be their moniker and diminishing returns set in.
I guess the lesson in this is that even though you're really alone in a genre(interactive movies), doesn't mean you can rest on you laurels and just churn out the same crap over and over again.

@aaronsullivan Unfortunately, I doubt Microsoft will let it happen(although if they did it would be awesome).
Goldeneye will never see re-release anywhere due to its licence.

Good mix with some 3rd parties thrown in. Other 3rd party options include Winback, Shadowman or Turok 2.

As others have said, without the Rare titles, it may not be worth doing as you're leaving out half the N64's defining titles.
I can put one together, but it would include some of the more obscure titles like Tetrisphere. Not sure if anyone would buy an N64 mini for that(though I would if I didn't already own it).

The only thing I have a problem with in the review is calling OxenFree and Gone Home good adventure games, both of them were barely games(and yes, I've beaten both of them).
Anyway, If this is like previous broken sword games, its a 90s style adventure game with obscure and obtuse puzzles. It's now a niche genre, but does have its fans.

@Ryu_Niiyama Exactly what I was going to say. We're not seeing Pilot Wings, Wave Race, F-Zero and 1080 because these series never lit the world on fire sales wise. F-Zero GX, the series pinnacle, never hit a million sold.
As for Pilot Wings, PW64 was awesome, Pilot Wings Resort was garbage and probably sold as well as it was made: poorly.

I got it, played some Armored Warriors. It really is good despite the disappointing lack of display options.
But then I love beat-em-ups.
If you want to play the DnD games, Capcom released Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara some years ago(its still available on steam).

@Mountain_Man The text is really not that bad, at least for me at any rate. Its small but not unreadable.

I have an opposite opinion. I tried playing on PS4 and HATED it. But I enjoy it just fine in handheld mode, even with the UI confusion and small text.

But that's just me. Only complaint I have is the camera, which is indeed terrible.

I'd give an 8/10, because underneath the (mostly subjective) problems, there is a really, really good CRPG here.

I wanted Alexandra Rovias from Eternal Darkness. She perfect for it. Just use some of the spells for the special attacks.

Also, the stage would use "sanity effects" to screw with the player, like mess with the health bar or have characters pretend to be smashed off screen but don't really.
That's too awesome though to be in.

This game does not deserve a 9/10, not even close, I'd give a 6/10 at most. It is not a game, its a interactive short story that's overpriced and over in an hour. Honestly, the story that is there isn't anything magical, its an average lesbian romance.
I think this game gets 9/10s despite having no game play to speak of is because it has to get a 9/10 or they'll be ostracized from the gaming journalist community.

As someone who is currently playing All-Star Fruit Racing(gamefly'd it), its not a bad game and most of the technical issues were patched out as was the AI issue.

Is it MK8D? No. Is it completely worthless? No. This would be a fine game for little girls(who I think are the target audience).

You'd think a company known for fun would have a more unique looking building or a giant Mario statue out front, something.
But nope, without the logo, it looks like any other office building. Kinda disappointed.

I am going to coin a new term, Switch Derangement Syndrome: Where you cannot accept the success of the switch and every time its success is brought up you twist facts and ramble.

@Ahlvin23 Observer fixes a lot of the issues of Layers of fear, giving you more to do with actual puzzles and light stealth, with a more involved story and more of a psychological horror experience instead of just jump scares.

Observer is a decent game. I liked it. Glad to see its coming to switch.

I played it on the PS4. Its not that great. Its ok, just not anything special. I miss Zeboyd's beginnings with the hilarious Breath of Death VII. There was love put into that title!
As for Nintendo. Its not their fault. Yes they didn't promote it, but you yourself really have to do some promotion yourself and Nintendo does promote lots of indie titles.

So telltale developed the CSI games... explains why they are actually decent games. Not for everybody, but for fans of the show, they were serviceable fluff and completely playable.
