Publisher No More Robots has been an eager supporter of the Switch eShop, and has confirmed to us that its next title will also make its way to the hybrid system. Let's Build a Zoo, developed by Springloaded, is a Theme Park-style management sim in which you build your park, breed and import animals and manage the various aspects of the site.
It promises to be a little more than just a charming throwback, however. At the heart of the game will be a DNA splicing system that lets you create 'over 300,000' variations of animals. The graphic below showcases a few examples.
It also promises a 'fully fledged morality system', so if you want to go to the dark side and 'essentially turn your zoo into a meat factory', you can go that way. But of course, if you want to have a zoo full of happy animals and people, that's an option.
Let's Build a Zoo is due out on PC in the summer after a closed beta, but it's good news that Nintendo Switch will get the game at some point as well.
Is this one you'll keep an eye on?

They were so busy working out how they could do it, that they never stopped to ask themselves if they should.
Day 1. Probably.
Interesting... This game could be unique if they lean heavily into the DNA splicing and morality systems, especially if they combine them together! Here's hoping they go above and beyond!
I can see some animal rights activists getting very twitchy about this one. Prepare yourselves.
Definitely Gonna Keep an eye on this game. i've been waiting a game like the first two Zoo Tycoon games for awhile now. hopefully, it's good.
M-m-meat factory? Well... that's concerning. Ah what the heck, one elephant burger plz
I want this and I'm not even ashamed.
I also want to really like that trailer, I like how it was put together but I am experiencing PTSD from the constant switch pop in i've experienced over the years, that its preventing my enjoyment somewhat. Those who know will just know.
that trailer was pretty bad, but this looks like a ton of fun, i'm getting this for sure
yep, this looks stupid and crazy fun, as long as it keeps a good gameplay, is day one for me.
I love zoo games, and honestly the concepts presented here seem really interesting. Might check this one out.
I was mildly interested in this while clicking the article, but this definitely gives off some really good Theme Park vibes, which makes me want to play it right away. Getting this for sure!
Think I'll wait for Two Point Zoo to come out.
Who wants Zoo Tycoon, Endless Ocean, The Sims and DDR on Switch?
One question lingers in my mind, why are all these animals living in sin? I mean, why are all those different bears in the same habitat? Same for the monkeys? I doubt those different species would get along.
