In my LG CX's tv settings I also set the black level to "low" which made the image look so much better. It shouldn't work that way and maybe it's my imagination but it made blacks really black and completely eliminated the grey "smear" on the whole screen. Try it out!
There's also a promotion (at least in the Netherlands) currently that it gives you €19,80 worth of gold coins when you buy vouchers. So I caved in and bought 4 lol. Worth it though I think!
Some Breath of the Wild (finally beat the final trials of master sword!), some A Link Between Worlds (forgot how cool that wall mechanic is!) and some FF7 remake Yuffie DLC. Can’t wait until Friday!
First thing that comes to mind is Bravely Default . I so hated that you had to defeat a very difficult boss only to get stuck in a loop and fight multiple hard bosses OVER AND OVER again. I never finished that game.
What about quick navigation through the inventory with L and R? That was in a lot of games before this one and seemingly they just forgot this? Shameful really
@beepboop368 Cannot agree more! These kind of changes, though they seem small, make so much of a (positive) difference. Still don’t get that Nintendo doesn’t see that those same small fixes can also be applied to batch-crafting, the radial menu etc. Makes the game so much better to play!
I started out with the Light Bowgun to try something different for a change, but I’m definitely back to the good ol’ Hammer now. It’s just so much fun wacking and stunning monsters around. The wirebug makes it a lot more easy to be more agile and I LOVE that fully charged meteor smash silkbind attack. Never used the ‘purple charge’ mode though and can’t even imagine it’s any better than the normal mode for all I’ve seen. Makes me sad to see so little hammer users here and online too. Do you guys see it as a boring / cheating weapon or is it just not as good as I believe it to be?
Happy birthday Austin! This weekend, t'is myne day of birth as well! So, I will be attending my birthday in Animal Crossing New Horizons too. Besides that, I'll put some time in it-never-stops-giving Persona 5 Royal and some in Rocket League, which has become almost a daily habit. To top it off, I'll finish Rexxar's Book of Heroes in Hearthstone and plan to play some Nioh which I started last week as well. Busy busy!
Of course I'll meet Jack in ACNH this evening. My island is so prepared for his arrival! I also managed to catch a Giant Trevally just before it goes away tomorrow, so very happy I did! Additionally, I'll play some Nioh which I started only yesterday and I"m already additicted. Oh, and of course Persona 5 Royal keeps grabbing my attention as well. Have a great (spooky) weekend everyone!
I honestly don't get how this can get through an internal testing phase. Like, anyone playing this wouldn't just approve this in their right minds. How can you play such a stuttery game and think "well, this is great! Approved!". I didn't bother me that much myself in that it completely ruins the experience, but it sure is noticable and should be tackled. Fluid gameplay over graphics, always.
..."and that the games could be delayed until later in the year to fill a gap in Nintendo's release schedule"...
What gap? There is big HOLE after pikmin 3 as we don't know anything about any releases what so ever after that. Sure, there is BOTW2 and Metroid 4 somewhere in the probably very distant future but we don't have any other 1st party game to be exited for. They really need to announce multiple titles soon. I miss the big announcement during a direct and really don't like them being announced out of the blue 1-2 months before release.
While I'm still far from done with Xenoblade Chronicles DE, I got a good deal on Astral Chain and I'm so enjoying it! It's pure platinum action and way more action then I thought it'd be! With some AC:NH and Fall Guys(!) on the side, it's a great weekend for gaming again!
@DonSerrot This exactly! I was really confused when I used the tool ring the first time since in other games it usually works the way you describe. I'm used to it now, but it could indeed be even quicker to use.
Death Stranding (so awesome!), Luigi's Mansion3 and Dragon Quest XI S. Finishing all of them before Friday (Pokémon day) is not gonna happen. Ah well, enough fun for the coming months!
@KitsuneNight I'm watching it in release order, with the exceptions that I did watch Rogue One first and will watch Episode VI after III and Solo. Really enjoying it so far! I even enjoyed episode I and don't know where all the hate came from
I'll be playing Luigi's Mansion 3 a few floors as I don't want to finish it too quickly , as in within the launch weekend. I'll probably also continue Dragon Quest XI S. And when I'm in the need for something else I'll play some Transistor or Witcher III on PS4. Oh, I also need to finish my Star Wars marathon on Disney+ before it goes live in the rest of the world (sorry!). Only 6 more movies to go
Well, No Man's Sky has taken my life again with its new BEYOND update. If I manage to break free of its grip, Prison Architect will also get some love.
For me it's Slay the Spire (finally unlocked every card and relic!), the Mario Tennis Aces tryout, Moonlighter and The Witness. Some smaller games, but I'll like the variety. Some progress in beating the backlog at least
I'll be hopefully finishing my attempt to unlock Assassin's Creed Odyssey's platinum trophy! After almost 120 hours (in +/- 4 months) of exploring the beautiful overworld and enjoying the great DLC chapters I cant believe it's almost over. Ah well, it's time to move on to a next big game Probably Bayonetta 1 and Detroit: Become Human simultaneously.
Oh, I also picked up Steamworld Heist again after leaving it alone for a couple of months. Really enjoying it again though!
Slay the spire! Such an addicting game. Almost finished a run with the second character, but got hopelessly crushed by the final boss. Got some new unlocks though that will make a new run even more interesting! And so it goes on and on...
I'll also give the Assassin's Creed Odyssey DLC chapters a start. I've already put 70(!) hours in the base game and that burned me out a bit on it eventually. But I believe I recovered from that now, so time to dive in to ancient Greece once again.
Loved these kind of games when I was a kid! Anyone here that also remembers Hamster Ball? Will definitely give this a download in the future, it looks great!
I'll try to finish my main party chapters on Octopath Traveler this weekend. Already managed two of them and I'm pretty overleveled already so it shouldn't be too hard. Besides that I'll probably play some Picross 3D round 2 I picked up last weekend along with some demo's (MHGU and Megaman). Maybe I'll even try out Destiny 2 I got with my PS+!
I feel exactly the same way and am quite excited for these new games. I got into competitive for a really short while in Gen V and during X/Y but just can't bring up the time for that anymore. Let alone catch the insane amount of all the 'mon. I already skipped the Ultra games last year (first mean title in this series skipped ever) so I'm ready for a whole other pokemon game.
I also hope they take the good bits of it to the 2019 game, something the series has a bad reputation for. Since X/Y is has always felt like 1 step forward and 2 steps back in terms of new convenient features.
@SwitchVogel changing up tables is nice. Maybe 1 free and 1 purchasable table per tournament? That way, everyone can join in and people that bought the table chosen have another extra challenge to participate in. Regarding frequency, I dunno. Twice a month would be nice IMO.
I'm not a fan of the idea of allowing powerups. Sure, it brings mad scores on the table, but it gives those that played a lot a sheer advantage over those that didn't since the former's powerups are more powerful.
Such an amazing update that got me back to playing this! Even bought the portal table and the medieval pack today, which are awesome.
And I made it to (at that moment) place 86 in the tournament with a score of around 33m. Not nearly enough to beat the talents at the top. Congrats to the winner(s)! Hope to see more of these tournaments in the future
Jeez, DKTF for €60 again. Quite a tough deal for a game with no meaningful additional content compared to the Wii U version. Same counts for HWDE, but that one has way more content that somewhat justifies the price.
Thanks for convincing me guys! Getting this soon I LOVED Enter the Gungeon (+-40 hours in it already) and like roguelikes in general, so this will fit in well I think!
I totally agree! I didn't really like Sun and for that reason never got Ultra Sun. What I don't like about this franchise is how it introduces cool concepts (battle frontier, VS Seeker, Gym rematches) and then completely neglects those in later entries. It always feels like it's one step forward and two steps back, with Mega evo's and Z-moves only partially covering the wide spectrum of Pokémon. I totally agree on legendaries not feeling special anymore too.
Really hoping for a change for the better with the Switch entry, but I'm sceptical!
Only looking forward to Sun&Moon and Picross 3D Round 2. The rest doesn't interest me one bit, actually. The pool of indie games is getting so big it's getting hard wrapping my head around it. Besides that, I have a huge backlog and Dragon Quest VII will do until Pokémon, and after that Dragon Quest VIII (and hopefully NX!) comes around

Persona 5 Royal (playing this for 3/4 of a year already), some Rocket League, Yoshi’s New Island and Zelda Picross.
