Great news! If the gameplay is good and lenghtwise comparable or higher to a Metroid game, then I'll gladly pay the asking price. There are a lot of Indie games worth their price, such as Fast Racing Neo or the Steamworld-Games, so I've no problem supporting quality. Any news on the file size though?
At that price, Lone Surviror will be a must buy for me. Thomas was Alone seems quite interesting, too. Maybe OlliOlli, as some of you recommend it. Too many games!
Hopefully it'll come to Europe as well! Don't know where to find the time to play all the RPGs of 2016, let alone those on the backlog, but this seems quite interesting.
Played four games so far, Bay was great, Transformers Devastation brings back so many memories, and am still waiting for a sequel to Infinite Space to pick up the story!
Thanks for all these insights, a really interesting read! And judging by the screenshots and vids already shown, the amount of work and dedication that went into Heist is enormous! I'm quite impatient to dive into Steamworld, all the while hoping the game will get the success it so obviously deserves! And the guys from Image&Form sound really nice too.
Man, been playing for some 7 hours already but not having the feeling of having accomplished something at all, considering how big everything is! Only gripe with the game so far is the absence of story drive. I'm already questing a lot and yes, there are a lot of NPCs and it feels quite alive, but when I compare it to the journey of Xenoblade Chronicles, it feels a bit lacking. Hopefully it will get better, though it's really an impressive game already!
Well, I can already feel the excitement rising and blowing off my hat! As soon as it releases I'll be downloading Heist and Dig, you're making an awesome job!
Waiting for those Cyber Deals, though my backlog is big enough, and with 3ds getting DQ7+8, Bravely Second, Fire Emblem Fates, Project X Zone and Stella Glow next year, I won't complain.
@Tony_342 I agree, I stumbled upon that too, because I remembered that you could pick up the orbs no matter your phase, and I have the european version. Maybe they misspoke and meant that it cost you an orb to switch phase, which now is removed? That is something I'm very happy about, because I can't recall how many times I missed a jump after having no energy left to switch.
So suicide and ghosts and murder and violence and whatnot are ok, but when it comes to skimpy outfits, that's a "no"? Seriously? Right. This is plain ridiculous. What next? Remove Samus boobs because they might be viewed as arousing or sexist?
Nice review! I've never played a game of the series, but I'll definitely get this one, and a 7 will most certainly mean I'll have a lot of fun with it.
Xenoblade was always a must buy for me, and if it comes close to the Wii one, it'll pass me some 170+ hours. I'll take a chance with Fatal Frame, because what I saw of the gameplay looked really good and the gamepad will be well used, though I'm not that much into scary games. And Shin'ens Fast will also be a must have!
That'll make three additional games for my U this year, but with all the other good games, I won't complain.
Can hardly wait to play this, sounds better each time there's an update!
And judging from the released footage, you can switch phase without using an energy orb, which together with some way to narrow tracks and those iced turns, was my only gripe with Fast Racing League on the Wii.
@Einherjar Maybe, maybe not. If tomorrow Nintendo removes Region Lock, do you honestly think those people will stop? I don't. And I am in no way happy with that Region Lock thing, because I miss out on a lot of Games, especially Atlus ones. So yes, I can understand people wanting to remove Region Lock, but most of the ones having an eye out for that sort of stuff are the ones who're using it to get their games "free".
Obviously, hacking and pirating is doing no harm whatsoever, right? Poor guys, getting their game pulled out because of some stupid kid and missing on real money.
Well, since I'll sitll be waiting vor DQ 7 and 8 by the time XI comes out, I wont be getting my hopes up of ever seeing this game on my 3ds. Sorry Square, but if you don't want non-japanese money for those three games, why do you still bother to even announce them?
Sad to see that the Wii U is indeed dead. I'll be getting the remaining top games and jump the next console generation. Backlog is big enough to make a stand.
@DarthNocturnal True, but ist it lawful? I mean, it these games where his before the relationship, how come she could even lay her fingers on them? Reminds me a bit of Alan in taahm, who lost everything.
That's something I'll never understand in divorce cases: How come she got his game collection? Who in his right mind would take something as personal as that away from somebody during a divorce, especially if those games were owned before the couple even got together? Better not get married if that is the rule and not the exception...
@CreativeWelshman You are so right, some Gamecube HD ports would make the pill easier to swallow, and if they'd been tweaking some things here and there, even better. Sadly, we only got one...
@gatorboi352 Why would I? As much fun I've been having with the U, money isn't growing on trees. Spending hundreds of euros on the U since August 2014, only to start again next year? Nope, not with me.
Part of me somehow still hopes that Nintendo is just trolling us all by delivering such a disappointing presentation that everybody is only talking about that and not about the competitors, and will blow as all away with a surprise direct the next days. One can still hope, it's better than to face the sad truth that Wii U is over and done for.
@MrRaven1972 So true. The games taht came out til now are really good, and I'm very positively surprised by Splatoon, and I liked Bayonetta a lot! And with the gamepad, you could do so much in a regular Metroid. But the absence of a perspective after Xenoblade in December is killing it. No games to wait for, all the while knowing that any game starting production now would be on the NX to add insult to injury.
Well, that's it then. My Wii U isn't even a year old but it seems like the end is already near. No Metroid, no F-Zero, no Wario platformer, no heavy hitters except Xenoblade X while the Wii at least got Last Story and Pandora's Tower. As much as I love the U games I have, as much I am repulsed by the nothing they have in their sleeve. If that's all Nintendo will be offering me (still waiting on Golden Sun 4 too!), then I certainly will pass the NX, no matter what it is. No way am I spending several hundreds of euros on a new system again soo soon after buying the U and already some 12 games, all the while knowing it might get the axe two years later. At this point I'd much rather invest in a PS4, and that says a lot, after 25 years of Nintendo gaming...
Common, at this rate it's nothing more than clickbait...
That Mario64 HD was as much a Tech Demo of Unity than it did ripp content from Mario Galaxy (2, was it?) to recreate content made by other people back in 1997. Someone tried using Ninendo made stuff to gain fame the easy way. And on all those Youtube "Stars", they rant because up till now they made money using other peoples work.
I'll bet my last pair of pants that if someone did that to NintendoLife, you wouldn't be holding up that editorial any longer.
So, tell me, NintendoLife staff, who see no problem whatsoever with that Mario64-"Demo", would it be alright, if I took your articles and your screenshots and used them on my own blog to promote my talents as a videogame journalist? If you have no problem with that HD-thingy, surely you would have no objection now, would you?
Yet another example of someone showing off his talents by copying someone else's work. Funnily enough, the Demo wasn't created from scratch, as the last article here told that the Character model was ripped from Mario Galaxy. So where is the originality, the creativity in this demo?
Maybe I should try to write the Lord of the Rings HD to show off my writing skills...
""It's all about the games" - that's why we won't buy an excellent game!"
Yeah, sure, what terrific logic... Same logic as complaining about gaming journalism on a site that's offering.... videogame journalism!
Sarkeesian is problematic, but not because of her person, but because the arguments she uses are more often than not invalid, ignoring conext and so on. But the resposne should be civil, reasonable and argumentative, anything exceeding this is telling a lot about those "caring" for "ethics", as well as confirming her views on "gamers".
Why is Wheaton so much of a problem? Even if he is the world's biggest idiot, buying the game is not like forcing you to sleep with him, you only have to listen to a voice playing a role. If he gets the job done, well, that should be the only thing to care about.
I highly enjoyed the demo and no way am I missing out on a superb game and a new IP because of one voice actor or whatever opinion he has on some random movement, especially when said movement is doxing peolple for disagreeing with them, or worse, sending death and rape threats.
I was crazy enough to get the Xenoblade Chronicles OST for 40 or 50 € if i remeber correctly, together with the Okami one. Never regretted it, it's so great to listen to! And I got the Bravely Default one too, it's got some very impressive tracks! Now, I'm waiting for the Smash Bros. one, and the Link between Worlds one to enlarge my little collection.
W101 was a great game, though in hindsight, I should've gone for easy difficulty, some fights were quite tough. Nonetheless, I like it and couldn't get enough of it. The Bayo demo was good, too, I'll be getting the game and enjoying a lot. That's 3 great games, on Wii U, but the article cited another gem: Infinite Space! So addicting, with great twists, good story and gameplay. Still crossing my fingers to get a sequel, maybe on Wii U? Imagine steering your spaceships through the touchscreen! Bit sad though that I won't be playing Scalebound, that trailer...
just finished it with a silver rating, now i want the full game even more. Fantastic visuals, good gameplay and the difficulty was spot on for me. Though i might have to get the pro controller, i don't want to put too much strain on the gamepad.
What a game! Going at way over 1000 Km/h on Silence, always fearing the bump before the regen area. Winning by a slight energy margin knowing that you still have a lap to go and that every touch will be fatal. Between this, Mario Kart 64, F1 Grand Prix and Wave Race, there was some great fun to have. Pity that I can't get this one on the Wii U Virtual console though. But still happy that I cold get my hands on GX for 5 € some years ago, that one is a blast too!
I hold this game very dear, because we played it for some 8 years nearly every Saturday afternoon with my dad, until Mario Kart Wii came out. So many memories, so many great and fun moments, when a cup was decided on the last lap of the last track. Getting the perfect 36 point score against my dad or all those green shells perfectly aimed - never been able to be this good with them in the newer games. And that Ranbow Road!
absolutely gorgeous! The first one already was, considering size limits, but this will be even better. I'm just hoping that Shin'en will greatly increase the number of tracks, up to 20+ individual ones, but please, don't make them as narrow as Storm Creek... And if you're keeping phase switching, totally different routes depending on the phase of your racer would be awesome!

Re: Video: Check Out Some Key Features of Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
This is looking great, another must have for the 3ds! And yet I still need to play VI, let alone VII. ^^
Re: Axiom Verge Heading to the Wii U eShop on 1st September

I'd really like to buy Mercenaries Saga 2, but since it isn't available in Germany...

Still hoping for a fourth installment to finally get to know Alex.

Re: Video: FAST Racing NEO's Hero Mode Melts Further Faces with an F-Zero Twist
Fast/Wii was already impressive and fast, but this gets so fast it's lapping its predecessor! Shin'en outdid themselves.
