New Pokemon Snap

To give players an early look at some of the photography-based delights that await in New Pokémon Snap, Nintendo's launched a brand new website complete with an interactive map and treats to uncover.

You can check out the website for yourself right here; from the map screen, you can click on eight different locations to learn all about the Pokémon that can be spotted in that particular region and see short clips of some of the monsters in action. You can also earn My Nintendo Platinum Points as you explore the site, and Nintendo promises that New Pokémon Snap-related items are on the way soon.

On top of this, each of the eight locations offers up a digital photo frame that you can use to share snaps with friends and family. Simply click on 'Take Photo' when you've arrived at any of the locations, then take a quick snap or upload a photo, and you'll end up with something a little like this:

Just a heads up – we've asked, and this isn't a new species of Pokémon.

New Pokémon Snap features islands teeming with untouched nature – from dense jungles to vast deserts, all home to different wild Pokémon. Players will take on the role of a budding Pokémon photographer and work with the Lental region expert, Professor Mirror, and his assistant, Rita, on an ecological survey to photograph Pokémon thriving in their natural habitats. Along the way, players can capture Pokémon behaviors that aren’t normally seen! Professor Mirror will evaluate their photography prowess as they investigate the mysterious Illumina phenomenon and build their very own Pokémon Photodex.

If you missed it, a new trailer for the game dropped earlier today focusing on the natural sounds that can be heard from Pokémon living in the Lental Region. The game launches on Switch next Friday, 30th April.
