The first marriage candidate DLC for Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is just around the corner, and familiar faces from Harvest Moon: A New Beginning will move in just down the road from your farm, ready to be wooed.
The "Windswept Falls" expansion pack adds a new area to the map, where four new/old characters dwell: Neil, Felicity, Dunhill, and Hina. The first two are new marriage candidates, and the latter two are an old man and a child, respectively.
Windswept Falls is a tiny village of traditional Japanese cottages, with a small farming area and a waterfall. Presumably, this also means a new area to fish — although whether or not that means new fish has not been mentioned.
Two more DLC packs will bring new marriage candidates from previous games to Olive Town: "Terracotta Oasis", which will add Iris and Raeger from the first Story of Seasons game on 3DS, comes out some time in June, and the "Twilight Isle" pack, which will add Ludus and Lisette from Trio of Towns, comes out in August.
The Japanese Story of Seasons Twitter account lists April 28th as the date for the Windswept Falls expansion pack's launch, but as the Japanese version of the game came out a month before the North American launch — and websites still list May 2021 as the DLC release in English — it's unclear if that will also be the release date in the West.
What do you think of Neil and Felicity's makeovers for Olive Town? Will you be courting any of those, or are you waiting for the characters in the later DLC packs? Let us know in the comments!

I will be giving Leah salad in Stardew Valley.
Given the cost of DLC, does this make the candidates mail order brides?
That looks like a nice new area. I don't have issues with marriage candidates being added via DLC — though it makes it difficult for the people who are already deep into the game — but I think the DLC areas should have been in the game from the beginning. The locale is probably the smallest for a Bokumono game since A Wonderful Life.
weird how they're locking areas behind a paywall, when there's only one really small area in the finished game.
Not a fan of bachelors from A New Beginning.
Those bachelors looks very decent for me, not my type as Owen from Tree of Tranquility or Bob / Kurt from Save the Homeland or Blue from Magical Melody.
1/10, does not feature Dante from the Devil May Cry series.
I wonder if the Mineral Town remake would ever get DLC?
Would be cool.....😐
#TeamClemens. That is all.
@Northwind A lot pf people do play through the games more than once, either to explore a different romance path or just to do a new farm layout or strategy. As a genre, it's more about the journey than the destination. Only time will tell if Olive Town warrants multiple playthroughs, but after 50 houra of play I think it will. Not immediately, of course, but maybe in a year or two.
Also, to be clear, the expansion pass isn't just new marriage candidates, it also includes costumes and new events which aren't detailed in this article. There is some kind of Earth Sprite festival/competition going on in one pack, and a mystery event in another. I think it's safe to assume there will be a handful of new crops, furniture and products to grow and craft.
It's not like it's going to add a whole new game, but it's not just a couple of new characters you can marry, either.
I'm waiting (impatiently) for Raeger. Love a man who can cook.
That has got me thinking that the other blocked off areas are for DLC. Looking forward to the new locations! Enjoying my time with the game. Patches cleared up my issues with it.
The game world is deceptively large anyway (3 mines, 4 season locked fields, several material farms, several hubs for the alternative currency). And a greenhouse.
Still set on Laura but curious about Iris.
I didn't pay much mind to Niel, but he looks REALLY good here. I'm tempted to divorce.
With that said though, the town looks really odd. It's pretty, but you'd think that its inhabitants would actually fit the aesthetic of the town. It's like if a bunch of western people moved into Japan, and then took their homes. It's.. odd.
DLC like this rubs me the wrong way. Buuut Raeger though...
I married Klaus in the OG story of seasons and things were going great, fell hook line and sinker for him, but I just couldn't keep my eyes of that sexy chef. One of the biggest regrets of my life. I treated Klaus so poorly once we were married, he would always say my cooking was bad and he would stay in bed all day with a 'headache' just wanting to be away from me.
(Remember when these games used to be actually good?)
Still have the game sealed until they patch the issues out anyway, so by the time I get to it all the DLC may be out and my finger might slip on the DLC that adds the one that got away
