Re: Random: English Voice Actor Of Goku Assures Fan He Hasn't Recorded Lines For Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

I absolutely love DBZ. I'm looking forward to DBFighterZ on switch. But cartoon characters in smash?

I've played a few Dragon Ball games, and I certainly do not think of DragonBall as defining a genre or shaping any kind of video game history, like Cloud, Ryu or Pac-Man. There are dbz games I love, but I don't see them as anything more than capitalizing on the popularity or nostalgia of the source animated series, much like video games based on Disney movies or the Looney Tunes game on nes, or hell even those nickelodeon or cartoon network crossover party games.

Goku is not worth representation in a game that is a celebration of gaming icons. If it were a celebration of anime/cartoons, then sure, go for it.

Re: Video: Remember Nintendo Labo? Check Out This Amazing Zelda Piano Rendition

I have been building a new toycon with my kids about every other weekend.

We used the RC cars and built a race track on the floor in the next room. I place new obstacles each round and turn the light off. They have to reach the finish line using only the camera on screen while sitting in the next room. They get a kick out of being able to see what the car sees even in the dark.

We're working our way up to the robot suit after we build everything else.

Re: Nintendo Labo Drops To Fourth (And 17th) In The Japanese Charts

I'm astonished by the negativity toward Labo. I've been spending a good hour or so everyday after work with Labo with my kids. This whole thing is a faucet of pure creative engineering. I have every gaming system and played many of the recent AAA games from sony and Microsoft, but Labo has actually given me an experience that will stick for a very long time.

I thought for sure this would blow up with popularity but it seems the "money for cardboard" mentality is too thick.

God of War is $60 and all you get is a little disc... and even then it's only if you buy it physical.

(I even feel stupid being sarcastic about this, it's ridiculous.)

Hmm I guess you're right. I've never seen that pengu show but the penguin on the far left with the cone head immediately reminded me of the two penguins that did the intro/outros to the Beakman's World episodes.

Looks like they put a lot attention to mixing many different references in this game. Makes me want to play it just to see what else they threw in there.

@DeathUriel @BubbleMatrix82
Omg those penguins and the guy in green with crazy hair (even the girl) are from an old science show for kids called Beakman's World. It was kind of like Bill Nye the Science Guy, with lots of gags and comedy but very educational. I loved that show. This is great.

Re: While Other Toys-To-Life Products Struggle, Sales Of amiibo Continue To Grow

LastLife

I see almost no amiibo represtentation at local stores now. Walmart is an amiibo wasteland, Target has the same mountain of animal crossing amiibos they can't sell, GameStop doesn't even display amiibos anymore, and Toys R Us is out of business.

In any case, there needs to be an actual amiibo game. Something like Skylanders or Disney Infinity. Something to let your characters pop in and share a game world that you can control. This would give an actual solid reason to own them besides table decorations with unlockable costumes...

Re: Rumour: Ultra Shinies Could Be Set To Glitter And Twinkle In A Pokémon Game Near You

One of the things that robbed the fun and meaning from rare colored pokemon is rampant hacking. It's actually rare to battle online against a team that isn't a full roster of shiny, maxxed IV'd pokemon.

One way to make your own pokemon feel special again is to have several variations of each shiny. Or even different patterns. The original Pokemon Stadium on N64 did this by having the color scheme and tint of your special little guys be unique depending on how you nicknamed them in your gameboy game. I loved it. I would name my new catches then eagerly tranfer them to my N64 to see what color they were in 3D.

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 5.0.0 Is Now Available

New icons are cool. Social media features are convenient. Parental Control options are thoughtful...

But what I desire above all else... FOLDERS! Please? I love the folders on my 3DS. It encourages a vast library of software. There are some games that I actually forget that I have just because they're buried in a mess of shuffled software. It really is an essential feature that we're missing out on here...

Re: Random: Join Us As We Do Our Best To Guess The Super Smash Bros. For Switch Roster

LastLife

I have to disagree with people wanting some of the third party guest characters cut from the roster.

I understand that the super smash experience is a celebration of Nintendo icons first and foremost, but I believe the smash experience has evolved into something bigger than that.

Super Smash Bros. is now a celebration of gaming in general. It's focus is not just on nintendo, but on the most influential icons across gaming history. I for one find it quite fitting that this amazing franchise sits on Nintendo's stage, where the joy of gaming has always seemed most pure to me.

Re: Injustice 2 Director on the Possibility of Bringing the Game to Switch

LastLife

The first Injustice is one of my favorite games. I played it online everyday and bought all of the dlc... that is, until the wii u stopped getting the balance patches that the other systems got. My version of Injustice was left for dead without even releasing the last two dlc characters for purchase... The dissapointment was strong, and I would only consider buying this installment if I felt it would be supported as an equal to the other versions.

And what's up with that Atari 2600 comment? You can only downgrade so much before it's not the same game anymore, as if he's implying the Switch can't run the same game... Only reasonable differences I would expect are small visual changes and online infrastructures. As far as gameplay and content I would imagine it could be identical.

Re: Review: Namco Museum (Switch eShop)

I was really hoping this would have a virtual musuem that you could walk around in first person and view paraphernalia of each game's history like previous installments. Is there a gallery of artwork or other " musuem" like features in this? That was my favorite part about the old namco museum collections. It was cool and somewhat therapeutic to walk around and learn about each game's history.

Re: Namco Museum Is Coming To Nintendo Switch This Summer

LastLife

I had the original Namco Museum vol. 1 on the PSone. My favorite part about it wasn't the games themselves (although I loved them all and played them to death), but actually how the games were presented. You actually walked around 3D exhibits in first-person, designed around each game with displays showing off each game's history, artwork, and media, finally leading up to the exhibits game room where you actually walked up to the games cabinet to play it. I loved the ambience. If anything like that is in this, I will definitely buy it.
