I’m guessing I have to just show up at GameStop on launch day and hope they have the Sunbreak amiibo and controller. There hasn’t been any preorders available since announcement. Maybe thats a good thing though…
@VR32X Same, hope they're not too hard to get. Really wanting that Pro Controller at least.
Hard pass on the game + expansion unless they offer a true physical release (offering a steelbook without a cartridge to put in it would be almost hilarious if it weren’t so insulting), but I’ll pick up the amiibo to maintain my collection.
I also quite like the controller though I wish they had at least changed the colour of the grips. Variety is the spice of life, after all, and I like this more than the previous MH one (which I missed out on anyway).
@Silly_G You can't even get the full game of base Rise on cartridge. Did you pass on that too?
For people wondering, it is game on cartridge and sunbreak as a code in all regions.
I am not getting it on the Switch, played Rise on Switch but 90% of people I know that are going to play it do it on PC, so went that route instead for Sunbreak.
Dit order the controller though, wanted a extra Pro Controller so this is a fine buy.
As for the Amiibo, just like with Rise most places sell it at inflated prices here.
@Rayquaza2510 Same. It's pretty hard going back to Switch after playing it on PC.
@Rayquaza2510 really?
I read on Reddit that the majority of users are on the Switch. 🤷♂️
Oh well… the real shame is that the Amiibos are already sold out!
Pre-orders are STILL not up anywhere in the US, so I had to order the controller from Amazon UK. It should come in about a week after launch, but that's fine, I'll be playing Sunbreak on PC. I mainly got the controller to complete the set, since I have the MHR special edition console and pro controller, and needed another anyway.
@Waka_the_Prophet It sold out. I had a brutal time getting the first one. This one was available for quite awhile.
Anything on the Pro Controller yet? I am in the USA and have been checking Gamestop, Best Buy and the Nintendo Store. The only one with a listing is Gamestop and it has been saying currently unavailable for days now, unless it went up and sold out. I called a couple of local stores and they think it is only going to be sold online and not in Gamestop stores.
Did game stop charge tax for anyone? It seems weird that they only took 99.99 from me.
Where the heck are the amiibo in the US?
@Jasonmd I was at gamestop just now at opening, and they had absolutely nothing in their system about new amiibo. They couldn't even find the product codes for anything sunbreak related. I also don't see anything about either of these three amiibo in any of the other stores in the US, like Best Buy or Target.
Nothing.
@WildHero Neither of the GameStops in my area had anything. Not even in their system. I just ordered the new bootleg NFC cards off Amazon. I’m not stressing out over this stuff, this time around. Its a shame. I would have bought it all Day One.
@VR32X Try Best Buy online if you haven’t, it’s showing as orderable for me there. I was able to get one through Target this morning, very early around 3am EST.
Is anyone else not getting the Striped Cat or Loyal Dog DLC that came with the preorder?
@Scrubicius it mostly depends who you know, I know a lot of Switch users, but most of them only buy Nintendo games or Pokémon, and indie games on their Switch.
I mean same people that play Sunbreak on PC, if they have a Switch did play Generations Ultimate, and even if that one had a PC port most of them would still get it in the Switch, because that game has less reasons to be played on PC.
The amiibo can be purchased from Amazon Japan.
I got all 3 for around $82 USD shipped.

@VR32X I’m guessing I have to just show up at GameStop on launch day and hope they have the Sunbreak amiibo
That's the most likely case that I will have to do as well. Stinks can't preorder them. From what Amazon JPN indicating for latest MH Sunbreak release is August 31, 2022. I'll have to take day work off or come in late so I can get them when they open the store.
