As you might have already seen, today marks 20 years of Capcom's Ace Attorney series. It all began when the first Phoenix Wright title was released on the Game Boy Advance in Japan on 12th October 2001. And although we didn't get to experience the series here in the west until 2005, we've been huge fans of the court-based visual novel series ever since.
To celebrate this special occasion, Capcom has launched a Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series 20th anniversary website including a message from the developers thanking fans for their support and promising to continue its support for the series in the future. As part of this, it's also detailed some anniversary initiatives - including some event details and commemorative goods for Japan.
Back in July, Capcom shared a survey - allowing fans to share their thoughts about the latest release The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and the series in general. One question, in particular, asked if fans would buy a new Great Ace Attorney game if it was released in the future.
What would you like to see next from this series? Tell us below, and be sure to also tell us what the best game in the series is, in our Nintendo Life poll.

A new Great Ace Attorney would be cool or a new Ace Attorney game.
I have been really holding out on this series for a while and I REALLY want to try it but I also want Danganronpa too at the same time!!!
I honestly can't remember what I put in the survey, but I would seriously buy another Great Ace Attorney game if they made one. I love the characters, and Sherlock Holmes is probably one of the best characters in the entire game. The story was a bit rushed, but I honestly just want more.
@VoidofLight you mean... HERLOCK SHOLMES?????????????????
I’ll take a new Ace Attorney game. Great Ace or the regular series.
@anoyonmus Eh, I could go either way. I prefer Sherlock Holmes, since then I can pretend that the Sherlock Holmes novels are somewhat canon.
@VoidofLight I see
No objections your honor
Head over heels for that artwork of the cast all dressed up! The more of this series the merrier, I still have yet to get around to Great Ace Attorney but the franchise holds such a special place in my heart overall.
Give us Edgey 2!!
Let's see what Capcom decides to announce first, Ace Attorney 7 or 4-6 Trilogy
Give me Ace Attorney 7, Ace Attorney Trilogy 2, Great Ace Attorney 3, Investigations Duology, Investigations 3, and a new game where you play as Franziska von Karma with a dedicated whip button.
@Ryu_Niiyama Doubt it's dying any time soon, given that the big Capcom leak that had the monster hunter and resident evil stuff also had Ace Attorney 7 and Great Ace Attorney listed.
Asking the real important question: how do I get a high resolution file of that image in the tweet??!!
Ace Attorney 7 is a given at this point, but I also hope we see the second sequel trilogy hit modern consoles and the Investigations games made available in a remastered dual-pack.
I'd like AA7 but something completely new would be cool too; maybe in the vein of the Layton X AA spinoff
I would like a 4-6 trilogy and then a new game eventually, maybe a Great Ace attorney x Phoenix Wright crazy time travel story could be fun!
Keeping an eye on the Great Ace Attorney price for a discount....
I'd love some more AA games on the Switch. I'm currently debating wether to jump on the current discount for the Trilogy, even though the only game I want to play is T&T. I've played the other two and don't think I'd ever replay them. What is putting me off is knowing I'd have to go back to a 3DS for Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice anyway.
The Great Ace Attorneys: Justice through Time.
Make it happen, I can already see the snide remarks at disbelief that one of Phoenix' ancestors had been a lawyer...
Somebody, please put @AnnoyingFrenzy in charge over at Capcom ASAP.
I love any and all of their promotional arts
I would like to see a port/collection of the second trilogy.
not only would i love to see a new Ace Attorney game, but i would really appreciate if they made another trilogy with the last 3 games.
@Peach64 it's like ten to twenty bucks on a discount? (And it's on discount about 3 times a year or more.)
I think it's worth it to play T&T alone.
But I've also played the games a second time last year, and it's really fun to go through it all again after a few years!
How did I get so old...
I don't even need a 7, just 4-6 in HD would be enough for me
@Ralizah yeah. I do think an AA7 would happen.
Question is… are these going to be Switch only or multiplatform for all platforms or multiplatform for all platforms but Switch (even though it is imo dumb to exclude Switch because the series started with Nintendo after all)
Also will it use the RE engine?
@anoyonmus The Trilogy and Chronicles are both multiplatform releases, so they'll definitely go multiplat with a sequel.
With that said, they're clearly prioritizing the Switch audience with this series (as evidenced by the Switch version being the only one to get a physical release in the U.S.), so there's basically no chance it won't be targeted at the Switch hardware.
Also, it's not like the games have uber-realistic visuals or open world level design or anything, so there's no reason they wouldn't run anyhow.
@Ralizah ik it will be on Switch but for multiplatform it will be Switch, PC, and PlayStation consoles (no Xbox) but Switch is numero uno priority.
But I am just asking if the new AA game would use the RE engine considering Capcom is moving all of their games to RE engine instead.
Imagine a visual novel using the RE engine!!!
I finally bought Ace Attorney trilogy on Switch!!!
@Peach64 get the trilogy on sale. I got it on sale and I am having a blast with it so far!!!
