Classic platformers KLONOA: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil are both heading to Switch on 8th July in the form of Klonoa Phantasie Reverie Series.
Namco's colourful Klonoa series originally released first on PlayStation back in 1997 (and got a Wii remake in 2008), with the sequel hitting PS2 in 2001. The GBA got some entries, too.
Check out the trailer for the new remake(s) above and some of the official blurb below:
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil are coming to Nintendo Switch! Run, jump and hover while firing Wind Bullets to grab and throw enemies across dreamy side-scrolling levels, using each level’s surroundings to your advantage. Take on great adventures when KLONOA Phantasy Reverie Series launches on Nintendo Switch on July 8.
Klonoa is a fan favourite franchise and with this remake containing both of the PlayStation games, they'll be in good company with the healthy roster of platformers already available on Switch.
Let us know below if you're excited for this collection and if you'll be picking it up come July 8th.

So what you are saying is I will have no money this year...wooo good times to be a retro (or a new to this series) gamer.
Seriously, if you want the franchise to continue, here is your chance.
This came out of left field, but I am definitely on board.
Nice. Hopefully there will be a new game. At least there is something with Klonoa and it includes Klonoa 2. Nice for Klonoa fans. Thanks Bandai Namco for doing it.
Another series I have been wanting to play for a long time, and is finally hitting the switch for me to play! (:
This is amazing value considering what these two games cost on the second hand market now. Wouldve been amazing if it also included the wii remake but I guess that's one wii game I can't cross off my purchase list.
Nice. I skipped the Wii-make of the first game, but I'm keen on picking this up.
WAHOO!
Looks a bit budget but I’m probably in
Awesome I have heard great things about these games, looking forward to giving them a shot myself!
Klonoa fans and people who has never played Klonoa (me) is very happy.
time to cash out on my copy of lunateas veil before it's too late >_>
I remember being so obsessed with Klonoa as a kid but never got to play the games until I got a PSP/Wii. Definitely playing these games day 1
I own the remake on the Wii, and it's a great game, I'll probably get this too.
Nice to have both games on one bundle, hopefully this sells better enough so that we get a third game soon. Really glad Namco hadn't forgotten about the loveable Klonoa.
When I saw Klonoa I literally screamed I was so hyped...I have NEVER been so hyped before ever since that Pokémon rumble game finally getting a ya release EVERYONE GET THIS GAME SO THE DREAM TRAVELER WILL STAY!!!!!!! (Also to those who say that it’s a Kirby/sonic ripoff and or say it’s a game for people with a inflation fetish GTFO!!!!)
Yeah, I think I might get these thank you. After all, it's 2 . 5 D!!!!!!
Was not expecting it but I will 100000000% buy
Fine games ! I recall playing them on ….erm…..the gba SP? Would that be right?
This was the highlight for me
Love Klonoa! Will get this day 1 for sure!
Definitely picking this up.
I've always wanted to try this one!
Yay Klonoa's back! Hopefully it paves the way for a new Klonoa game, like the Crash Trilogy did.
It's curious they're remastering the original games again instead of using the Wii game. I'm not saying these graphics are bad since they're faithful to the original games, what they aren't is ambitious in remaking them.
THIS is the game of the Direct for me. I emplore anyone who reads this. Give these wonderful little platformers a chance. The lack of support for the Klonoa series has always been downright CRIMINAL, and getting both of the franchise's best games is an absolute STEAL. Since the PS1, we've only gotten Klonoa 1 and 2 in terms of main games. This bundle NEEDS to succeed if Klonoa 3 is ever expected to see the light of day. These games are beyond charming, and this series deserves so much more. If any platform can give this series a push, it's the Switch.
My absolute highlight of the direct... and thats saying something, as it was great! But these games are awesome and the more people that can play them the better. Praying for physical realease pleeeeeease!
Klonoa 2 is one of my favorite PS2 games! Slightly disappointed how the remake looks, they took out the cel-shaded character models, and the overall atmosphere seems too bright and cheerful compared to the slightly grungy atmosphere of the PS2 version. Still a day one buy.
Wahoo! FINALLY!!! An obvious must buy for me, but it's also coming out on other consoles, I must have those versions as well! I'm not sure why, gotta catch 'em all mentality, but if it boosts sales numbers and convinces them to make a Klonoa 3.... I'm also going to buy a copy for my niece, she is almost 10. I think I first played these games when I was like 13.
Also hoping they'll get around to the GBA games (right now, they're on Wii U virtual console, but I, and most people, don't have a Wii U)
Looking forward to playing these, most likely going to get on PC though
Sure didn't have Klonoa on my Nintendo Direct Bingo card, but I'll take it!
Klonoa hype! I've never played the series before but always heard good things from my friends.
However I shall wait longer for the PS5 version, I need my trophies.
I'm here for it!!!
Yes! This is something I'm definitely looking forward to! Always wanted to try out the Klonoa games!
Hopefully it won't cost too much, since I played the first one on the Wii. I am interested in the second one.
I rarely say that a platformer is worthy of Mario, but the Klonoa games are just that!
So are these remakes or remasters? Because that trailer looks pretty god (visually) for a PS2 game.
Klonoa was definitely a favorite game for me when I was a kid and I never got around to playing Klonoa 2 for whatever reason so this is a definite buy!
Definitely a must buy. I've loved every Klonoa game I've played, which is the PS1 one and the GBA ones and the Wonderswan one. Honestly though out of those, the GBA one is probably my favourite. It'd be awesome if they released that too, as is, for the switch. No need to even remake it, the 2D graphics look great. But I'm glad I'll get another chance to play the original again, and also play the 2nd of the mainline games too, which I've never played before.
Must buy. Physical confirmed yet?
Do Brits really say 8th July? Without an “of.”
@Ryu_Niiyama won’t even crack a million…
…And I don’t say that with any shred of satisfaction. 😞
"Classic platformers KLONOA: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil are both heading to Switch on 8th July in the form of Klonoa Phantasie Reverie Series."
Suggestion: Separate releases for the "KLONOA: Door to Phantomile" and "Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil" mentioned in this article (especially for any being who might have had only a certain other "Door to Phantomile" game, a certain other "Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil" game, or a certain "Klonoa" game for certain other systems (specifically certain PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo Wii systems respectively)).
Definitely a must buy. Played the hell out of theses games, especially Luntatea's Veil.
That snowboard stage!
