It's a familiar story with this week's UK chart; LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is still sitting comfortably at the top, and given that it's set records to become the biggest LEGO game launch ever, we're not surprised. The Nintendo Switch version is also the best-selling version of the lot, making up 29% of the total sales, with the PS5 release selling 26%.
Right behind the newest LEGO game is FIFA 22, with a few Switch favourites — Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe — creeping up a couple of places.
Despite its surge in sales last week. Gran Turismo 7 has crashed out of the top ten to 11th. But it's not the only one to slip off the tracks as Kirby and the Forgotten Land has fallen down to 12th.
Last Week | This Week | Game |
---|---|---|
1 | 1 | LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga |
4 | 2 | FIFA 22 |
5 | 3 | Pokémon Legends: Arceus |
6 | 4 | Mario Kart 8 Deluxe |

8 | 6 | Elden Ring |
3 | 7 | Horizon Forbidden West |
9 | 8 | Grand Theft Auto V |
11 | 9 | Minecraft |

Not surprising that the Switch is the top selling version of Lego SW considering the install base and the target market of the game.
Weird to see FIFA22 in second place considering how old that game is now (for a FIFA game). Has it gone on a decent sale somewhere?
Seeing Arceus rise back up to third is nice to see.
HOW is GTAV still in the top 10 though? Who doesn't have this game who was already interested? Does it just keep selling to kids or something? Much like Minecraft does.
@Kiz3000
GTAV has always been a massive evergreen title, but it should be noted that the PS5/XBS versions launched about 2 weeks ago at retail.
I'm pretty sure Switch Sports will take the top spot in next week's charts. It's already in 4th on the eshop from only 3 days of preorders (preorder funds are taken a week before launch so those who preordered before 3 days ago won't have contributed to the charts until 3 days ago).
GTA V is never gonna leave the UK's top ten list, lol.
Imagine a game selling like this for... what, almost a decade now?
@Kiz3000 FIFA is likely back due to retailer promotions around the Easter break.
I'm surprised Kirby didn't stay Top 10 last week as I thought it would be a title parents would be picking up for their kids whilst schools are closed.
No need to use the force is like something someone would say under the influence of jedi mind tricks. Not the rappers collective.
@Anti-Matter Star Wars was never my cup of tea either. However, the LEGO Star Games and the Genndy Tartakovsky Star War shorts got me into the franchise a bit. Also, Rogue One was pretty cool.
@AndyC_MK111
Kirby the Forgotten Land is deserved for better sales despite I'm not a fan of Kirby games until the Forgotten Land was quite something for me after tried the DEMO version.
Also, not everyone like bigger franchises such as Star Wars, Marvel, Harry Potter, etc.
@MysteryCupofJoe
I would like to see something like LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER again, without using too famous franchises, just being generic and Normal looking.
@Anti-Matter,
A lot of people love Star Wars as I do, and the new games environments are awesome, the game is pretty sweet too.
With the PlayStation 4 sales as well then playstation is seeing the bigger player base for nintendo switch especially as playstation 5 owners are buying the ps4 version then upgrading for free to save money
Bummer. I’m not a fan of licensed games too much since their biggest appeal is outside the realm of gaming but Oh well. The UK has always been rough for Kirby. I don’t even think folks there got the 20th anniversary collection either.
Good job Kirby. Still did good In UK for that week and Still #1 in Japan.
Not rocket science but Kirby is out of the top 10 as Nintendo have major supply issues with this game. No stock at most shops including amazon and currys. Such a shame as this game could sell if nintendo pulled their finger out.
Looks like the majority of titles in the Top 10 are current and future evergreen titles. I believe the Lego SW game will continue to sell well as it combines two properties with mass market appeal and public awareness.
@Mauzuri Is it though? Lego games are known for being glitchy, but this has been pretty solid (one controller disconnection bug that got fixed in a patch (I think)) and some very minor 'can't move' bugs that fix themselves after 30 seconds. Is this because I'm playing on XSX?
Gran Theft Auto, eh? I would probably buy that.
@Kirby_Girl You're right, the Wii anniversary collection didn't get a PAL release. Such a shame.
@Anti-Matter You’re right, not everyone likes those major franchises, and that’s okay. However, you’re the only one who feels the need to share a negative opinion about Star Wars on every article concerning the latest game. That is the part that’s a bit strange and people have a problem with. It makes you come across as bitter because games that you don’t like are being made.
I for one wish I could play the latest Lego Star Wars, but in recent years I started to get migraines from Lego games.
@alanahagues I would love to see an article of the best selling game in each Nintendo franchise (Mario, Kirby, Zelda, Pokémon, Metroid, etc) - could pad out the list with Smash, Mother, Splatoon, ETC.
Would be interesting and probably generate a lot of engagement due to surprise winners or complaints about poor sales for a beloved franchise.
It's still over, Kirby! I still have the high ground!
@GannonBanned no guarantees but I'll pass the idea along!
The developers put so much attention, care and detail into Lego Skywalker Saga. Over 25 planets and I can’t think of one I disliked playing through.
I never took the UK gamers to be a kirby fanatic anyways, it was what I expected. Those Star Wars fans are so into star wars they probably got multiple copies.
@AndyC_MK111 it's definitely broken and unfinished for me.
it outright ends halfway through episode 7.
it tells me to speak to maz in her castle, but the story trigger is gone.
the reason it's gone?
i saved and exited the game on the maz's castle map.
the map got reloaded when i started the game again, but the story trigger got skipped because i came in from the load game screen instead of the previous story segment.
there is now no way to "go back" or skip ahead, until they fix this i cannot continue beyond this point without deleting my savedata.
Hopefully they patch Lego Star Wars some more. Still pretty glitchy with save locks
@GannonBanned Just following up to say... we ran with it https://www.nintendolife.com/features/the-best-and-worst-selling-games-of-nintendos-biggest-franchises
@AlanaHagues oh nice! So excited !!
@thedicemaster Is there no way to start a new mission (or go into one on freeplay)? Have you reported it to TT?
@TryToBeHopeful i can go back and replay old missions that I've already beaten, but anything beyond episode 7 level 3 is permanently locked.
every remaining level/episode requires that i beat the level before it.
i have reported it, and so have many others.
there's no indication that they're actually working on a fix.
