Original Article: Tue Apr 26th, 2022 15:22 BST:
Nintendo has announced that it will be launching a massive 'Spring into Action' sale this coming Thursday, with over 1000 titles discounted on the eShop.
Although Nintendo has not yet specified which games will be included at the time of writing, we're betting that we'll be seeing some big-hitters receive some lovely price drops.
Nintendo's last major eShop sale for Europe ended on February 20th; this, funnily enough, also boasted over 1000 titles including the likes of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Splatoon 2. We wouldn't be surprised if these titles crop up again.
We'll be sure to update you once the sale goes live, along with a list of some of the biggest and best savings available.
Will you be taking advantage of the upcoming sale? Let us know!

Last time I purchased 99 Vidas from Switch eshop for $ 1.99 during Huge Sale time.
The last time this happened there was a Direct announced last minute right before.
I don't see that happening this time. Maybe one was planned but they didn't have enough to show off and just gave us the XB3 and Splatoon news separately.
But also it's Nintendo. Switch Pro to be confirmed this Thursday. Book it.
Cries in North American
Sorry but only own two digital games, well three but got the physical of Hollow Knight later..
So nothing for me here, move along...
3DS sales pretty please? 🤩
Europe again. Poor NA people.
Yay, can't wait to wade through hundreds of shovelware
Y'all really need to open your headlines with the region
No taking much advantage of this now that my account is set to US, although if the sale doesn't get echoed for that side of the pond, I might consider the option of temporarily switching over to something European or even utilizing my spare UK profile (which, to this date, has only had one or two freemiums anyway). But I'm out of gaming budget until next Friday regardless, and I have a suspicion that it'll coincide with the sale's deadline to render all such probabilities moot in the first place.😏 Seriously, will I live to see such sale announcements ever take to announcing end dates in advance rather than just start ones?
And on the other other hand, the recurrent asynchrony between the USA and Europe in eShop sales could mean that my next dose of gaming funds will just see a dollar-signed "Spring Into Action" conveniently later.
I'm sure out of the 1,000 maybe 10 will actually be AAA Nintendo titles and not just indies & shovelware that go on sale regularly anyways, but 10 might be highballing it.
Region-exclusive sales and game trials are the dumbest things ever.
@Kazman2007 Can just change the region in your account - easier for you guys in NA than for us in Europe I think. The US eShop doesn't like many UK-based credit cards
@Kiz3000 : It's so obviously going to be the brand-new Switch CRT Model, complete with a morbidly obese dock.
I never really liked paying my rent and eating anyway.
Ill be spending my Thursday on Deku Deals then.
@Silly_G Sounds glorious. I wonder if we can strap it to our face and get the full Virtual Boy experience.
Let me guess... SOME AAA titles 33% off. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will be REALLY cheap. And the ones with 90% off will be games you've never heard of. Hoping to be proved wrong, but that's been the pattern of every other big sale.
@Yas Pretty much. Gosh, I've seen that Mario + Rabbids game "on sale" like 2,000 times.
Perusing the eShop isn’t my idea of a good time. It’s a bit a shame that I need to resort to other external places to wade through all the junk with reasonable efficiency to find something decent. Ah well, just regurgitating the same ole that serves very little besides the superficial gratification that comes from a minor venting session. Cheers, all. Hope you find something!
I'd take 33% off Famicom Detective Club, thanks.
Hopefully some 3ds sales in Europe, I'm holding off buying the remaining games I want on that system in case of a sale.
Other than that I'm not sure what I'd like. I've been contemplating playing xenoblade chronicles, I have it on 3ds but I imagine it would play batter on switch.
I'd probably go Mario maker 2 if it went on a deep sale not just the usual 30% off. Shin Megami tensai V or 3, mystery dungeon, hyrule warriors (1st one) or Cross code. I'll probably end up getting nothing and wait until Mario strikers and three hopes 😅
@Kiz3000 : Eye insurance sold separately.
The customarily 33% off and its payday Thursday!
Anyone going "how about the US ???" has not been watching the eshop sales carefully : every game that is discounted in one region has a comparable discount the following month in the other region.
I'm hoping for a Kirby Fighters 2 sale...
It's never been on sale, and the 20 euro pricetag is a bit too steep for me.
If it does happen, I don't really see it dropping more than by 5 euros, but I would take it at that price... I mean I do have every single Kirby game there is, so I have to get this one as well.
...It's Kirby's 30th birthday tomorrow, after all.
Take the regional sales and shove em Europe your asses. Makes absolutely no sense to not do them globally.
30% off on 2/5 year old games 😒
When the emoji said July 17th, I got very confused there for a second.
Very excited for this though, a hope of mine (that will absolutely not happen) is that ACNH gets discounted even if only by €10 max. I've been wanting to get it digitally for so long and it would be the perfect opportunity to do so. It's probably just gonna be the usual suspects though: Splatoon 2, Link's Awakening, Sonic Mania, etc.
Honestly I don't see myself picking up anything in the upcoming sale (unless it is a deal too good) as I am eye up a good few 3ds dlc and I know they will never go on sale.
The only exception might be the Famicom Detective Club as I have not seen it go on sale (unless I missed it).
There's always 1000 games on sale.
It's impossible to find quality content or good value on the eShop.
Europeans complain that America gets deals on Capcom games
Americans complain that Europe gets deals on everything else
Good on Nintendo for ensuring eveyone is equally upset
@Screen it's not down to Nintendo. They only control the sales on their own games - Capcom and all the other publishers are who to blame for not having the same games discounted worldwide, not Nintendo.
Hoping for discounts on No More Heroes 3, Triangle Strategy or Shin Megami Tensei V. That would be nice.
@Richnj just use Deku Deals, it's awesome
@dojmin I've not tried that one. I'll have a look. Thanks.
I do currently use PS prices. It's been really useful.
Hopefully Europe gets the Capcom 3DS sale here!
I've noticed Nintendo has dropped the discount from the normal 33% to 20% on some of their newer games like mario golf.
I hope that not too many people buy at this discount otherwise they will reduce discounts to 20% for all future sales.
@dojmin
agreed , since i discovered recently i just added all game i have interest, I don't need to check the e-shop anymore
i already added 50£ into my account my body is ready
