Super Smash Bros. for Wii U hit stores in the UK last week, and to mark the occasion Nintendo UK has released a video which features protips from Charles "Fuzzyness" Kimmelman, who happens to be the UK Super Smash Bros. Melee champion.
While Kimmelman states at the start of the video guide — which focuses on the 3DS version but is just as applicable to its Wii U counterpart — that the tips are for "beginners", the advice is actually pretty deep and will stand you in good stead if you lack confidence on the battlefield. It's even worth a watch if you consider yourself to be something of a pro, as there are handy hints within which are sure to improve any player's game. Give it a watch and let us know if there's anything you found personally quite interesting.

Finally! I've been saying that they should have done this from the start. I was lucky to pick it up so quick but others out there have struggled. I bet the Wii U version will be next. Good guide for beginners.
Covers the basics really well. Good work!
No DPad for movement support on the Pro controllers 8/10. The Wii U Pro and gamepad left sticks are just to soft and unresponsive to me so I often dash even I don't intend to. I just bought a CCPro and the left stick seems tighter and I do better with it but I still prefer the DPad by a long shot.
@BensonUii
What are you getting at? Does this have to do anything with this news about a fan-made SSB beginner's guide?
@KeeperBvK
I'm hoping that they'd make a tip on how to use the left stick properly. I'm kidding. I'm just frustrated. Sorry.
Mostly those were basics I know, but I admit I had no clue about the "Rage" system >.>;
And I'll take the advice about the dodging, I use it probably too often, making my actions predictable.
@KeeperBvK I don't think it's "fanmade" since it was posted by Nintendo UK, but they had a great idea by letting a smash pro doing the tips, it was definitly more useful than the typical beginner's guide.
Been looking for something like this for ages, I just got into the top 8 of 32 in Glasgow, but I'm not quite pro enough to get into the top 4, I need some tips alongside my practice. Will watch when I get home.
@BensonUii I agree I wish they could've supported the dpad for movement. Haven't got to try the Wii U version yet but I suppose i'll have to get used to the Wii U controller pro.
Thanks
i already knew about all of this, even the rage attack but since this is a melee player, i was expecting something more "pro"
Suprizingly basic except going over short jumping and dodging.
Heh, I'm gonna have to to practice attacking dodgers. Let's see if my little nephew is up to the task.
Kudos winner of smash from the UK.
I'm surprised how much of this I had instinctively picked up over the years, so even though it's nothing new to me, i'm sure it will be great help to some newcomers to the series, and that is always a good thing
@LordOfGamez Well, I'm sure he would have wanted to let you figure out most of the skills in the game. This video was probably just to get people started.
@noctowl I'm fully aware of that. I just think its completely STUPID.
