Re: UK Charts: Kirby Is Nowhere To Be Seen In A Quiet Week

KaiserGX

Game takes a while to click. Like people have been saying, although there is racing, it doesn't really feel like a racer all the time. Idk if no ones really said this before, or I haven't personally seen it but I guess you can say Air Riders is like a racing game as Smash is a fighting game but in general are known more for being party games. You can just play some of the stadium Target games if you want some Monkey Ball level shinanigans or mess with the rules in City Trail to only have those maps.

Like yeah I got Mario Kart but... Mario Kart feels different in the way it plays and does. This game doesn't even have a Grand Prix.

Re: Switch Port Specialist Panic Button Reveals It Helped Upgrade Multiple First-Party Games For Switch 2

KaiserGX

@Lizuka How good is your TV? Odyssey looked amazing on it after the patch. The way you talk about it now is how my TV and Switch 2 made it look before the patch. Super Mario RPG and TTYD already look really good on the TV and Switch 2 but I wouldn't mind them getting an update. More for TTYD if it puts 60fps mode. The only issue I have with 30fps is it's a lot more noticeable on better tv's cause you see more ghosting because you can see the frames more clearly.

Re: Digital Foundry Covers The "Disappointing Tech" In Pokémon Legends: Z-A

KaiserGX

About people who say players "ignore glaring developer issues". When I first played it I noticed the floor texture looked bad and I notice the pop in from time to time but.. then I play and forget about all of it. Sorry for me it wasn't much of an issue... sorry I don't go online and complain about it for hours when I know nothing is going to be done about it anyways. Maybe it's the reason it's optimized as well as it is because I haven't had any frame rate issues or anything relating to performance.

Like unless stuff is real bad, usually stuff looks worse in a bubble when people are looking and screenshots and videos and pointing small things out. I'm not going to be doing that when I'm playing. If the game is fun, I should be able to ignore small little issues like this. Anyhow I think the game can look great, are the buildings boring? Yeah... but they made a product that I enjoy and can get invested in and I think that should matter more.

Inb4 someone says the game should look and play good and blah blah... idk to me it looks good... it's just the pop in and buildings that are an issue and even though it ain't really all that much of an issue to me.

The lack of voice acting though.. that's something that feels a lil empty. Could have at least put in a few lines or grunts or beeps or sounds instead of being 100% silent.

Re: Kirby Air Riders: Global Test Ride Demo Updated To Version 1.0.1, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

KaiserGX

@UpsideDownRowlet
Same. Didn't care for the game much at the start but the more I played it the more it clicked. Hell I went to go play the original and it just made the original seem more boring and slower with worse controls so I'm just here waiting for the demo again instead of playing the original.

I started having fun and I still realized all 18 track races weren't even in City Trail let alone the bosses.

Re: UFO 50 Has Been Updated On Switch, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

KaiserGX

@sketchturner Sorry you feel that way. I can only say there's a couple of games that I only wanna play for 10mins and a lot of those are very Arcadey. There's a lot that are overwhelming or I need to go back and learn or get how to play because of how in-depth some can be. Like I'm barely getting into the Avion one (the dinosaur strategy one). Even then I still feel I have a lot left to learn. The party one too I'm still bad at it I don't have that good of a strategy but I beat the first mission at least.

@HexagonSun (I originally @'d the wrong person)
Same, this is what I was looking forward to for N64 games and Gamecube. Didn't think (but was hoping) they would update the older ones as well. Just need NES and GENESIS. Idk if they'll do anything to Gameboy and GBA. Gameboy already looks good but need those custom mappings and control option stuff.

Re: Best Donkey Kong Games Of All Time

KaiserGX

Donkey Kong 3 (Arcade) is low as heck. Games basically a Galaga type of game. Also I find DKC2 overated as hell. You don't even play as DK. I also dislike the verticality. So I guess DKC is the only one in the trilogy I sorta kinda care but even then I still prefer the arcade games. Haven't really played DK64. Hope it gets put on NSO so I can at least beat it someday and have some idea of what the game is.

Re: Nintendo Alarmo's Latest Update Adds Another Free Theme

KaiserGX

Ok I do remember thinking one of them faded into the music and then at one point thinking with another one... why is this taking longer to start? I remember I kept going back and forth trying to notice any differences. I wonder if that's why I didn't hear the Pauline voices last time.

Re: Nintendo Alarmo's Latest Update Adds Another Free Theme

@neo9eo

Have you tried the other settings? I know at least for the gentle mode the 20min alarm doesn't go on. I don't know what the real difference between normal and moderate are or whatever the second option is. I'm guessing it might quite everything else a bit but not to sure. I think the only thing I noticed is it requires less movement to put into snooze.

Re: Super Mario World Looks To Be The Official Name Of The Next Mario Movie

KaiserGX

Well I was afraid to come back in here and get blasted so that didn't really happen so that's good.. I know I am biased as heck as Mario is my favorite video game series and I watched this movie in Spanish a couple times and once in French...

I'm not saying it's perfect either and as someone said before it does cover some themes, maybe it's not enough for some people and the pace is a bit faster than I would like but it does at least have them. Honestly though for me this pretty much covered everything I would have wanted out of a Mario movie and they even got Kamek how I imagined him in my headcanon (now I'm waiting to see if Birdo shows up in the sequel).

Hopefully now that it doesn't have to introduce the world and characters it can slow down a bit.

Re: Super Mario World Looks To Be The Official Name Of The Next Mario Movie

KaiserGX

@Zaruboggan
No offense but... I've seen the Lego Movie, Frozen and Spiderverse... and didn't really care for either of them all too much (though the Lego movie I think was the most fun from there). I don't really recall there being any "depth" or anything that stayed with me after it was done.

The last movie I can say had depth and I really enjoyed would be "A Man Named Otto" but I don't expect Mario, or even the list of movies you listed to have anything near what I watched with a Man Named Otto. They're just different kinds of movies...

I don't get what it is about the Mario movie that makes people dismiss so much stuff or somehow expect more than what the games were offering. Mario World having depth? What escapism or themes does Mario World tackle? I've seen the Mario movie so much at this point there's little things I keep noticing every time I watch it that makes me appreciate it more each time... (Like Bowser blaming Mario for everything and having so much hated for someone he hasn't even met that says a lot more about Bowser's character).

Idk... I just roll my eyes now when they mention the Mario movie not having anything to it and just being references and easter eggs.. like hard for me to take anyone seriously with that take at this point... like move on from it already.

Edit: I know I quoted what's their name but this post is more just in general than directed at anyone. Just giving my two cents just because I'm so tired of hearing the same thing over and over I feel like it's an echo chamber at this point and no one's really been saying anything new or thought provoking (the irony of it as well).

Re: Switch 2 GameChat Choppy Frame Rate Explained By Nintendo

KaiserGX

Also idk what people expect.. sometimes they're internet can barely run an online game as is. This is running the game online and not only have like 4 other broadcasts streaming but the ones in the promotional footage have them streaming the camera as well. All of that is extensive on the bandwidth.

I watched my friend stream Plate Up on Steam a couple months ago and we live in the same area and that thing was laggin'.

Re: Nintendo Alarmo Update Adds Multiple Highly-Requested Features

KaiserGX

This has helped me get up a lot easier. Haven't snoozed yet. Somehow I hit snooze on the phone without realizing. Woke up at 2pm once and I saw the timer on my phone counting down from 3min for another snooze... I was like how is this happening and why don't I remember?

So putting alarms daily is big, as I can now set the alarm for my days off... but I think the biggest thing is the sleepy times.... 5min is way too short. I'm not going to fall asleep in 5min or even 10min.

Ok so now that we got the big things out of the way, personally what I would like to see in another update is able to set hourly chime, alarm and sleepy sounds individually. Like what if I want sleepy sounds from Super Mario Bros, Hourly Chime of Odyssey and the actual alarm to be from Pikmin. Or maybe even have the theme be different.

It's not needed but at least got the big concerns out now and I am very happy.
