@Vyacheslav333 With the two-character juggling of Eastward and the pig mount of Blossom Tales II (assuming that you choose the pig over the horse, by why wouldn't you?).
@NinChocolate My mother was the Battery Police. She made sure to buy AC Adapters for each of my family's Game Boys. If we were playing inside our house then we had better be plugged in or there would be hell to pay. "BATTERIES ARE EXPENSIVE!"
Fun Fact! If you want to complete the National Pokedex in Gen 3 then you MUST trade with LeafGreen. That's because it is the only Gen 3 game with the Slowpoke family.
Ignoring Mythical Pokemon, the Slowpoke family are the only Pokemon in Gen 3 that are exclusive to just one game. Every other Pokemon can be found in either at least two GBA games or in a GBA game and a GameCube game.
@RupeeClock I'm calling it now - Legends Z-A does NOT take place in the future. Instead it's after Kalos' Great War. Az's ultimate weapon both killed off most of the population and released the radiation that created Mega Stones. This game will be about the survivors rebuilding the country and discovering Mega Evolution in the process.
For the record, it is possible to get Rowlet in Pokemon Sword & Shield without using Home. You have to pick Grookey as your starter, then find at least 100 Alolan Diglett on the Isle of Armor. (If you picked Scorbunny you'll get Litten instead and Sobble will get you Popplio.)
@Ironcore I know this is an old comment but it speaks the truth. "Cris Tales" SHOULD be on this list. The gameplay is straight out of Paper Mario - Nintendo Life's own review even said so! - but the time travel mechanics give it a unique flair.
However, I suspect Nintendo won't actually do this because their previous lower-priced models (the 2DS and Switch Lite) were designed specifically for children. They'd risk parents buying the cheaper digital-only system and games for it, then getting angry when those games won't go in the console.
Commander Riker: "Any requests tonight?"

One of my proudest gaming memories is beating Harvest Moon 64's New Years drinking game.
During my first year I didn't drink any alcohol and thus had zero tolerance. On New Years I passed out after only three shots and had to be carried home by the villagers. It was EMBARRASSING.
So for the following year I made sure to drink at least one beer every night. When New Years came around again I was able to keep up with everyone shot-for-shot. Gradually they all went home, leaving just me and the town's midwife. We kept drinking until she gave up and left. I stood in the town square alone, drunk, and triumphant.
I'm not surprised. Long ago I created the Lupus Principle, named after the dog from "Jet Force Gemini". It states that if a video game contains a playable (or at least controllable) dog, then that dog will be the best part of the game. The game can be absolute garbage but the player will still love the dog (Example: "Haunting Ground" for Playstation 2). I have yet to see a game that disproves this.
@xmkbest Yes. The link system has a password option for people who didn't have a Link Cable. Just write down your passwords from Game #1 and you're good to go. (If you forget or make a mistake, the green oracle Farore has a special book that keeps track of them.)
My favorite memory involves the New Year's celebration. Every time you speak to someone you have to drink a shot. My character had NO alcohol tolerance and passed out after only three drinks.
Embarrassed, I swore redemption. Every night for the entire year I made sure to have at least one beer.
The following New Year's I matched everyone shot for shot. They all reached their limits and went home, until it was just me versus the local midwife. She and I kept drinking and drinking. Finally she admitted defeat and left. I was left alone in the town square, triumphant and drunk as a skunk.
My siblings and I used to all call him "Link". Then my brother accidentally loaded my OoT file, advanced the Biggoron Sword quest three stages, and then lied about it when I noticed.
From then on I started giving Link my own very feminine name. Which in turn annoyed my brother (but he grew out of it).
Part of me doesn't want to go through this again. I live in a rural area of the USA and getting StreetPasses was a Herculean task. I'm honestly glad that the Switch does not have it.
Part of me knows that I'm the perfect person to do this because I've completed all of the puzzles and have the StreetPass-exclusive Eon Ticket on Pokemon OmegaRuby & AlphaSapphire.
I want to play this but first-person views tend to make me motion sick. I can probably handle it if you can take the entire game slowly and pause often. Are there any action sequences, or parts where you have to quickly whip your viewpoint around while moving?
I want to play this and The Stanley Parable, but first-person camera with free character movement games make me motion sick.
No joke, the only game like that I've ever finished was Shadowgate 64. I had to quit Perfect Dark, Metroid Prime, and Portal. (I'll never get my cake!)
I can handle rail shooters like Pokemon Snap as long as I don't turn too fast. And first person with limited movement, like Virtue's Last Reward, are usually fine since there's typically long pauses between movement. But the moment you have to control both your viewpoint and your movement separately... BLARGHHH!!!!
I first played Earthbound on a used SNES cartridge bought from the local GameStop in 2000. I'd learned about it from Nintendo Power magazine. Since I liked RPGs and weird humor I figured it would be perfect for me. I was right.
"being able to acknowledge that a lot of the things you love about modern games were straight up ripped out of Earthbound is like finding a puzzle piece you didn't even know you were missing."
I understand this feeling perfectly. This was how I felt when I first watched Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Want to complete the Gen 1 and 2 Pokedexes with the least games possible? The minimum is three - Yellow, Crystal, and either Gold or Silver. You'll also need at least two 3DS systems since games on the same system cannot trade with each other. Crystal and Gold / Silver have to trade so they must be on different systems.
Crystal is necessary because it's the only G2 game with Celebi. It's also the only G2 game where you can get multiple Fire, Leaf, Water, and Thunder Stones. (By registering certain NPCs' phone numbers.) Gold & Silver only get one of each stone per save file. (Unless you're lucky with Mystery Gift.)
Yellow is preferred because it can get all three Kanto starters in one playthrough and all of its missing Pokemon are available in both Crystal and Silver. (Gold is missing the Vulpix and Meowth families.) If you use Red or Blue instead you must be careful which G2 game you get - Red MUST be paired with Silver and Blue MUST be paired with Gold. Swapping them will make you miss one evolution family. (Crystal + Red + Gold cannot get Vulpix & Ninetales, while Crystal + Blue + Silver cannot get Mankey & Primeape.)
One of the G2 games must be played twice to get all of the Johto starters, but it won't take long. Take different starters in each game, play until you unlock trading (deliver the Mystery Egg to Professor Elm and catch at least one Pokemon), trade Game B's starter to Game A, reset Game B's save file, pick the third starter.
Yellow must be played twice to get both the Dome and Helix Fossils. This will take a long time, since in both playthroughs you need to reach Cinnabar Island (7th gym) and resurrect the fossils into Kabuto and Helix. Red or Blue will need a third short playthrough to get the third Kanto Starter.
Any G2 game that is going to trade with a G1 game will need its Time Capsule unlocked. Reach Ecruteak City (4th gym), go in the Pokecenter, talk to Bill, and wait 24 hours. (I don't know if advancing the 3DS's clock will work.) When trading with G1 games all the Pokemon in your G2 party must be G1 species with only G1 moves. You may need access to the Move Deleter in Blackthorn City (8th gym). He's in the house west of the Pokemart.
I love Shovel Knight's aesthetics but am terrible at side-scrollers. A top-down GBC Zelda-like is right up my alley. Plus the coach driver is a horse wearing a derby hat. That's comedic genius.
For anyone who can't see the eyes - The face is lit from below and has thick eyebrows. The bottom of the eyebrows line up with the four center spikes / fangs. There are long horizontal S-curves where the bottom of the eyebrows catch the light.
@WeltraumDreamer In this case, yes. Okami and Okamiden both end with separate sequel hooks. It would take a third game starring both wolves to fully wrap up the story.

I agree with everything except the Chonky Pikachu. I'm may be the only old person (39) who prefers the modern design but I will die on this hill.
The slim design looks and moves like a real animal. The chonky design is just an oval with hands and feet glued on.
