I'm seeing this on opening day. The first movie I ever saw in a theater was "The Great Mouse Detective" so my life is coming full circle.

I'm not Asian, but I think I understand. This shrine is in Japan. Shinto followers believe that shrines literally provide homes for souls of the dead. Doing this for Japanese soldiers is a way of honoring them. But including Chinese & Korean civilians is like you're trying to trap their spirits in the country that killed them.

Today would have been my father's 64th birthday, but he died 20 years ago due to a hospital's neglect. Now imagine if the hospital, without my family's consent, built a memorial to my father. A memorial that portrayed him as a martyr who served the hospital instead of the victim of their screw-up. Would you all say I had no right to be offended?

Also, the opponent at 0:17 is a female Atlantic Blue Crab. You can tell she's female because of her red claws, like she's wearing nail polish. The more you know!

You're absolutely right. The line should've been "Oh my Arceus!"

I've been looking forward to this movie since I finished the game. I like that Movie Tim has more personality than Game Tim. There needs to be real conflict between him and Detective Pikachu, like a proper buddy comedy.

Also, from my knowledge of the game I suspect Ryan Reynolds will be playing a dual role.

Some days I feel like I'm the only person actively anticipating this movie. The game had a really good story and I have a good feeling about the director & cast. But I'm a frothing-at-the-mouth Pokefan, so I'm biased. Good or bad, I'm seeing it.

@Serebii Do you mean the mini-tournaments they mentioned? That's pretty neat.

I have a question for people who were actually at the tournament about the merchandise rack. A video during the tournament showed that it's called the "Prize Wall" and each item has a sign with a number on it. Could you win these items like arcade prizes? If so, how did you earn the points to get them?

I counted out the Pokemon on the map. All 151 are on there... but for some reason there are 2 Pidgeotto. (Bottom right quadrant, AKA Route 15, east of Fuchsia City. Mewtwo is pointing to them.)

I'm almost done the Detective Pikachu game. I think I can explain Pokemon costumes. Mild spoilers ahead

Parts of the story take place at an amusement park and a carnival parade. The people in the Pokemon costumes may be performers at the park/parade.

Had to see for myself. The black bar fails twice. First, it's slightly transparent so you can see the lines underneath. Second, her left nipple peeks out over the top right corner of the bar.
