Re: Poll: Have You Had Issues With The Ethernet Port On Switch 2's Dock?

JasonLee99

I’ve had mine connected by Ethernet since day one and it has always worked. It appears everyone’s issue is with it not working completely. I’ve wondered if mine is working as it should. I’ve compared my WiFi speeds to my hardwired speeds and while there is a difference it’s not as great as I would expect it to be.

Re: Arc System Works Announces Its New Interactive Adventure For Switch

JasonLee99

I feel like Dear Me, I Was is overrated. I typically enjoy games like this and bought it for NS2 based on some positive reviews. It just didn’t do it for me. Takes about 45 mins to play through. I ended up playing through twice (90 minutes) to see if I’d have more appreciation the second time. I really didn’t. I don’t think it’s terrible or anything. But I think it’s average at best. For context I had good times with Hotel Dusk and Another Code Recollection.

Re: Feature: Ghosts 'n Goblins Hit Arcades 40 Years Ago, And Its Recent Resurrection Is The Perfect Way To Celebrate

JasonLee99

Ghosts ‘n Goblins was the second game I got for my NES (after Super Mario Bros). Those were the only two games I had for several months. I played GnG so much I eventually got good and beat it. The first time I got to the end and the game suddenly put me back at the beginning, I thought I encountered a glitch and turned the game off disappointed. A week or two later I played through it twice to see if something different might happen and was elated to actually see an ending screen. I had no idea you had to play through twice until I did it.

Super Ghouls ‘ Ghosts was purposely my second SNES game. I thought it was great. I played Resurrection back in 2021. Looking at my notes I played through it twice and had a good time playing it.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Drag x Drive?

JasonLee99

I gave it a 7. I’ve put 4 hours into it now. Unfortunately it’s a game that 3-4 weeks from now I don’t see too many who bought it continuing to play. Besides the fun of the online games (which they are fun) there’s nothing to keep you coming back. Really needs to be a level system or something to provide incentive to keep playing.

Also, everyone struggles with the controls at first. Some are willing to put in the time to get it down and others are less willing. Even at 4 hours I’m still getting better with the controls. But once the controls are learned the actual games are quite fun, especially when you get teammates who are willing to pass.

Re: NIS America: Trails Beyond The Horizon Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release Is "Most Beneficial Option" For Fans

JasonLee99

I’ve heard it may cost publishers $15 more to use a cartridge versus a keycard. They aren’t going to eat that. Instead, physical would just be $15 more for the consumer. Would physical buyers be happy paying $15 more? Most wouldn’t. And usually companies don’t like to make one medium more expensive than the other. So most likely everyone would be paying more. That’s probably where the “most beneficial option” comes in.

Re: Switch 2 Users Are Reporting Instances Of Their Consoles Overheating

JasonLee99

Out of millions of consoles I’m sure there are a handful of faulty ones. But just because the NS2 gets warm doesn’t mean there are problems Nintendo needs to address. I mean Welcome Tour explains how the system was designed to account for unavoidable heat. Unless my system starts shutting down unexpectedly I’m not the least bit worried.

Re: Opinion: Miiverse Was Fine, But Does Anybody Really Want It Back In 2025?

JasonLee99

I used Miiverse a lot. As a matter of fact, the day it went down a bunch of the guys I interacted with formed a Discord group and moved there, where we still interact to this day.

Miiverse had issues. But I would love for Nintendo to try something new in that space. I don’t think they will but I would support it. The main problem with Twitter, Bluesky etc. is having to wade through the non-gaming posts to find the gaming posts. Would be nice if there was something that was just 100% video games. Even better if it was Nintendo.

Re: US Physical Game Spending Continued To Decline Last Year, Now Sits At Half 2021's Numbers

JasonLee99

I’m not sure I understand the huge concern about companies taking things away if you buy digital. As far as Nintendo, I don’t think that has ever happened. It’s 2025 and games I bought on Wii digitally back in 2007 and 2008 and can still be redownloaded today. Maybe there are a handful of exceptions? I’m not aware if there are any. If Nintendo ever goes out of business I guess they would be unavailable. At this point, I’m not concerned about it.

Re: Nintendo's Miscrediting Practices Are "Ridiculous", Say External Translators

JasonLee99

Not a direct one to one comparison, but as far as being in the credits and recognized, this Nintendo Life article didn’t even credit the individual who is the source of this story (Chris Kerr). They credit his/her company, Game Developer.

“This is according to a new article from Game Developer in which several anonymous freelance translators confessed to having to sign decade-spanning non-disclosure agreements by Nintendo, preventing them from being able to discuss their work.”

Re: Nintendo's Miscrediting Practices Are "Ridiculous", Say External Translators

JasonLee99

Couldn’t the person who said they had large gaps in their employment history due to NDAs simply list the external agency they were working for during that time that got them the gig with Nintendo? That shows you were working without breaking any NDAs. Having gaps doesn’t make sense to me. At the very least just state NDA during that time.

Most credits simply list outside agencies/companies who contributed without listing every single person in that company who touched it. IMO, if your paycheck is coming directly from Nintendo, you should be in the credits. If it’s coming from an agency doing work for Nintendo the agency should be listed.

Re: Video: For 365 Days, We Took Our 2DS Everywhere Just For StreetPass

JasonLee99

Wow! I don’t normally watch game related videos, let alone those that are over an hour. But I’ve now watched about half of this one and am very much looking forward to the second half. The amount of production and documentation to put this together must have been enormous. On top of that it’s just entertaining to watch and makes me yearn for the glow of that little green light. Anyway, I just had to comment to say fantastic job!

Re: GameStop Hit By Layoffs As Analyst Predicts 'Unsustainable' Sales Decline

JasonLee99

Surprised nobody has mentioned the reason that caused me to quit shopping there way back during N64 era (unless I overlooked it). If you are selling “new” games, they should be new, not opened. There should still be shrink wrap on the case. It’s as simple as that. In the 90s I bought a “new” N64 game that already had a save file on it the first time I played. Haven’t trusted them since.

Re: Review: Princess Peach: Showtime! (Switch) - Peach Breaks A Leg In A High-Class Production

JasonLee99

Yeah, IGN said 8 hours, but that was missing collectibles in half the stages. There are also gold rehearsal challenges which he attempted multiple times but never got a gold in any of them. I’m guessing a good 15 hours if you go for it all, maybe even more. I know I played that baker demo portion demo 5 times and still never got 2 of the sparkles. I just couldn’t get a high enough score on one section.

Re: Soapbox: If Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Isn’t Switch’s Swan Song, It Really Should Be

JasonLee99

Don’t understand why anyone would want TotK to be Switch’s last great game. We should be hoping for several more great games. The Switch lifecycle has been tremendous for Nintendo fans. There is no guarantee the next system will enjoy the same success. Three years from now Nintendo could be in a much different place and the opinion pieces on Nintendo Life will be yearning for the days of the Switch. My view is to ride this success wave as long as possible. Nobody knows what the next system may bring.
