It still doesn't tell you how long you've played each game if you are playing multiple games, only an overall time. That's what I want to see. The 3DS Activity Log is awesome. I don't understand why Switch can't have the same thing. As is, I track the times myself because I'm always curious how much time I've played a game.
Doesn't matter. If someone wants it they will get it. If they didn't want it it will always bee too expensive. If it was $10, then they would say it should have been $5.
That time of year again. Time for the Liam's, Laura's, and Emily's of the world to try to make a splash and get more followers before E3. Even if it is real, I'd rather hear about it at E3 rather than now, or 6 months ago.
If you expect everyone that has a complaint to attach their name to it, then there will be no complaints and issues like this will never be known by the general public. No indie in their right mind would attach their name. What is to be gained? So Joe Public knows the true story? To dismiss the concerns presented in this article because no names were used is absurd.
@Gold_Ranger If I'm going to take a chance on a game, it's normally going to be on the eshop where the games are cheaper. There is so much information out there on every game (YouTube, reviews, etc.), it's hard to get completely burned unless you go in totally blind. Even if most of the games are mediocre, the gems are worth searching out.
Great article, one of the most thought out and researched I've read in awhile. Curation will never be perfect but when a game like Vroom in the Night Sky is already released on it and a game like Axiom Verge is having problems even starting the process, something is broken. Also interesting that some indies are being told Nintendo isn't looking for ports while other indies have already released ports, or will soon. I hope Nintendo sees this article.
@EOTW I have no problem with someone quitting a game after an hour because they don't like it. But if you are writing a review, the review should mention that you only played an hour, for whatever the reason.
"It also sounds like the reviewer here didn't play the game long? Please correct if I'm wrong here. Everything in the text sounds like it comes from the first 10-20% of the game."
This is exactly why sites should make it mandatory that their reviews reference the number of hours played or the number of levels played through. As the reader, I want to know if you played 10% of the game in an hour, or 80% of the game in 5 hours. It makes a big difference. Not mentioning the time and failing to mention key features later in the game raises red flags.
I'm glad Nintendo Life still produces written impressions that can be read in a few minutes. Too many other sites only want to post 15 minute videos of themselves yapping expecting us to sit through it. No thanks.
It goes both ways. About 2 years ago my Wii U died and I had to send it in. I didn't get my Wii U back, but a replacement, with none of the content transferred. I lost tons of save data, even Wii save data because I had transferred it. The only thing saved was what was on my hard drive. Yes, cloud storage please.
All I want to know is if a guide is required like it was in Sticker Star. Not only knowing which stickers you had to have in your inventory, but also know when to use them during a boss fight sucked the fun out for me. Use it at the wrong time during a fight? Well, your out of luck because it was a one time use. Hoping Color Splash isn't the same.
Sorry, but if the discount isn't at least 50% they might as well not bother with them. I'm not a fan of the discounts to begin with. I'd be much more willing to even pay a ridiculous fee, like 1,000 platinum coins for a $5 discount on the eshop if they aren't going to offer free games to trade for. Now sitting on over 5,000 coins and am going to have to start buying Miitomo items I don't want or watch them begin to expire. Disappointing.
Just saw the thread on Reddit about people reporting the Pokemon are harder to catch after the update. Yeah, it's real. I noticed pretty quick when I had 2 Pokemon break out and escape after 5 minutes of playing the first time after the update. That rarely happened before. That's awful sneaky of Niantic, trying to get people to deplete their Pokeball stash.
Has anyone noticed after the update the Pokemon seem to break out of the Pokeballs and/or escape much more frequently than before? Or maybe my level finally got high enough to trigger something. I normally walk in a park where PokeStops are numerous so running out of Pokeballs is never an issue. But it's very annoying.

Re: Nintendo Promises 'Significantly More Units of Super NES Classic Edition', But Only in 2017
Should have just retailed it at $180 to weed a lot of people out, lol.

Re: Rumour: SNES Classic Mini Coming Later This Year
Rumor: SNES Classic is coming. Rumor: Nintendo has already ceased production. (I can't take credit for that.)
Re: Nintendo Confirms LAN Play, 'Renegade Roundup' and More for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
I will consider buying only if new tracks are added at some point. Otherwise, I've already played this extensively.

Is there an Activity Log that tracks time played for each game?
Re: Nintendo of America Promises 'Steady Flow' of NES Classic Edition Units Through Holiday Period
I don't think anyone got it at Amazon. Page kept crashing and wouldn't let you add it to your cart.
