Got vouchers to buy the ZA and Prime 4 Switch 1 games and upgraded to Switch 2. Will likely clear out the first party games I missed before the vouchers are taken away.

I’m really enjoying the game. Clearly I’m part of the problem.

Only a few hours so - so really unsure how I can rate it. It’s my first Pokémon since Sword & Shield.

So far it’s been fun. I wasn’t aware of the Paris setting heading into the game. Love the fact that you get mugged immediately after getting off the train at the start of the game.

Will be waiting to see how this reviews. I was Day 1 with 2k18 on Switch... Never again!

Rainbow Road is truly great. I loved Boo Cinema. Also, what they did with Mario Circuit (the SNES one) was awesome.

Looking forward to replacing my Switch with Switch 2.

In my mind, the Switch generation has been the greatest in console history. I doubt it will be topped by Switch 2 - but it doesn’t need to.

I got the Switch at Smyth’s midnight launch and hope to do the same again with the Switch 2.

I live in the UK. I managed to pre-order 4 of them (one from the My Nintendo store, three from Smyths). Everything was super smooth.

(To be clear: one for me, one for the wife, one for my daughter at uni and the other for the kids still at home).

@SillyG I agree. I’ll keep the OLED for non-updated games. With these file sizes I shouldn’t need an SD card for the Switch 2 until Christmas.

@Spider-Kev this is a good idea. The clearer the difference between proper physical releases and 'licence-on-card' releases, the better.

@Spider-Kev yes, that would need to be a post sales tax number. It feels like people have been quoting $90 as the base price.

I don't think the prices will affect the first few years. However, going forward it might be harder to justify multiple Switch units in the household until the Lite 2 launches.

I suspect this is just a mistake.

The art doesn’t need to be “new”, simply “new to the public”. Who knows whether an alternate tile was prepared a decade ago.

I received my invitation from Nintendo to pre-order. I love that they are doing this. Respect for the customer.

Given the weakness of the Yen, charging $450 locally would be a mistake.

@Runex2121 This is exactly the same position that I am in. I usually end up buying multiple copies of the game when the kids bug me enough.

I think this is great. It allows a better separation between my Switch Lite (for my commute) and the home-bound console.

Also, the kids can 'borrow' my games (I'm sure we'll still end up buying copies of Pokemon)

I remember paying £350+ for a 1TB card way back. It’s been the home of all my Switch games ever since.

I think I will upgrade when the Switch 2 launches.

Hopefully mine will be delivered on Friday so I can play Dread over the weekend. My Day 1 Switch is falling apart so this is an easy upgrade for me.

There's no possibility that people won't be disappointed.

@Delycache arghhh!!! I noticed this on the 3DS but was not aware of the situation with Wii U.

The last time I booted up the Wii U was for a dash-and-grab on the Wii eShop a few years back.

I will raid the Wii U store like crazy as soon as this is announced in Europe.

Everything Nintendo does is quirky. The Switch itself is quirky. We've just got used to some of these ideas: Mario in a go-kart: sells 35 million, game where you wonder around speaking to animals and planting trees: yes please. Platform fighting game? Online water gun battles? Interactive board games? All of this stuff is mad. And long may it continue!

@invictus4000 I'm more or less in the same position. I couldn't justify an update to the 'red box' but the OLED seems a perfect moment to upgrade.

I'm getting one. Mainly because my Day 1 Switch has a crack in the back and I would like the extra battery life. Also, the white joy-cons look cool.

@F_T_Wolf also, the Switch can/is used as a physical (game card) machine. No installations are needed. In these circumstances the 64GB of memory goes a lot further.

Surely there won't be any difficulty getting a Switch OLED. It's not as if it's a limited quantity product.

But I think there's a huge disconnect between Nintendo's intentions and how some of us westerners view their actions. Take Super Mario Bros. 35 - they are inviting us to celebrate Mario's 35th with a unique, time-limited game. Ichi-go, Ichi-e.

Meanwhile in the West: "Why is this time-limited? Why can't we carry to the Switch 2? Are you seriously saying it will stop working? What about video-games preservation? etc..."

I'm really surprised why people are confused on this one. Nintendo is a very Japanese company and this is an example of:
