Finally picked up streets of rage 4 and I bloody love it! Also got spiritfarer after enjoying the demo, got both with a vocuher I received for Christmas
This is my first Pokémon since Emerald and gotta say I love it! I tried a friends version of Shield and hated that - the animation and graphics were LAUGHABLE even by Switch standards, it's PS2 era levels for sure - at least BD and SP look modern and crisp albeit very cartoon-y.
@BloodNinja oh I fully agree, sorry if my comment seemed like I was moaning about DLC - totally fine with DLC when done right, what I was getting at was I hope they don't release a roster 60% of the size of ultimates and then sell us the remaining 40% and have it "full" again for example. Personally I'd take a Smash with fewer characters if like Mortal Kombat 11 I could customise outfits, switch some moves round etc
A smaller roster is acceptable to me IF they aren't going to keep selling us the rest of the roster as piecemeal DLC so it becomes a 'full' roster again eventually.
Only Nintendo could put out a 30+ million selling game and only add one paid DLC and one major free update..... I play indie games from 4 or 5 years ago that are still supported with free content, seems like such an odd choice for Nintendo not to support the game for longer
@garfreek I'm not creative either haha! But I would absolutely love sltonsee what people dream up! Used to love playing people's little big planet levels back in the day
I think it's safe to say the next Mario Kart console release will lean heavily into the character/kart customisation side of things, maybe even a track editor? No way they add this much content to a mobile game and don't bother in the next full release
I would love to replay Pikmin 1 again but alas I have no Gamecube and Nintendo refuse to re-release it on Switch. Same applies for Luigis Mansion, I love the sequels to both but the originals are my fave
IF it's 60fps elsewhere and 30fps on Switch there's not a chance I'll choose the Switch version but at least the Switch is getting it at all and I hope it sells well and prompts Rockstar to release some more older games on the system
Brilliant game and well deserved win! I have put over 30 hours in and I'm not even close to being bored, hope they add free updates or full fat DLC. Out of all the nominations for game of the year Animal Crossing easily is the least deserving (in my eyes, just an opinion)
Newgrounds used to be my homepage as a teenager, I'd check it every single day and play games for hours on end. Good times and honestly he deserves the award and recognition! It was such a great place for indie animations too pre-youtube
Shameful of them tbh, literally no valid reason in this day and age to do this, fair enough if physical sales were pulled, but digital? Scummy business move
I feel for the employees, losing a job for anyone is terrible news - but at the end of the day Peter Molyneux lied through his teeth about Godus, I was one of the chumps who backed it on Kickstarter and got a game that wasn't even slightly finished and they abandoned development in the blink of an eye. You can't run a business on over-promising and not even half delivering, so f**k hhis business and I hope the employees find good roles elsewhere.
I loved it BUT my god I was not expecting it to be so short! I completed it in 15 in-game days, clocked 10 hours total. I remember the first game being 30 in-game days? I've yet to do the extra challenge and Olimar missions, but can't say I was impressed at the campaign length, it felt like I only got blue pikmin right before the last mission too which sucked as they were my fave in the first game
Like a few others have said I'm shocked it's Nintendo's big holiday release with it feeling so unpolished and unoptimized, I loved the gameplay when it wasn't stuttering and dropping frames but it happened all too often
I haven't played a Pikmin since my Gamecube so damn straight I've bought it! Eagerly awaiting the postman as I type this, worked extra hard all week so I can chill with Pikmin 3 today
Look I'm not a 30fps snob, that's fine - but not running at 1080 docked when the game is 7 years old? That's pathetic and a sign of lazy development. The visuals have barely been upgraded, there's no excuse for such poor performance
I had the OG Pikmin on Gamecube and adored it, didn't have a Nintendo console until the Switch after that so I for one am STOKED for more Pikmin and have pre-ordered it
I hope this is the case, I have my Sony console and gaming PC for powerhouse graphics - my love for the Switch lies in the 'switch' aspect of it and I adore being able to play a game on the big screen but also on a plane or train, Microsoft and Sony just can't compete with that aspect.
@msvt for me personally, playing the old games is the draw. I'm a 90s kid who was raised on Playstation and Dreamcast so getting to play SNES and NES games I missed out on is wicked. I rarely play online but do occasionally dabble in Splatoon 2, Paladins and Mario Kart.
I hope not because mine is currently retaining it's resell value! Jokes aside, I do hope they do another production run, it would make a killer Christmas present.
@TheFullAndy Yeah only place I found it that cheap physically for was Shopto (42 quid) and they are sold out, so voucher for me too I think along with the Pikmin 3 pre-order
The first Pikmin holds a special place in my heart and I love it, but I'll wait until this drops down in price or maybe buy a used copy. £50 is a lot of money for an old game, especially when brand new pc titles can be bought for 30/35
Diablo 3 is class, perfect game to play on the go because you don't need to pay attention to story and the game is tailor made for quick 20 minute bursts and it's always a rock solid 60fps
@BabyYoshi12 well I hope it gets announced and that you enjoy it my friend, Mario games are just pure joy and I know I'll get any remasters that are released
@WoomyNNYes haha I might make that pledge to! If we've heard nothing by December I'll dust off the Gamecube and binge on Mario Sunshine and Luigi's Mansion again
I just dug Mario Sunshine out of my attic, I'm so damn tempted to play it again but because of the remaster rumours I've been holding off. I'll do a backflip if the rumour is true
Like many others on this comment thread I also take issue with Switch remaster pricing. I'm sorry, but it isn't justified charging high prices for a port of a 10+ year old game, porting a game is a slither of the cost of developing a new one, pure greed
I don't know if it's just me being thick - but I can't wrap my head around the parry/close quarters battle system. I just don't understand it and I feel like most encounters for me are purely luck based. I love the graphics, but the gameplay isn't hooking me
I want a Sims game on Switch. I spent so, so many hours on The Urbz, The Sims & The Sims Bustin' Out on my Gamecube. Can't even imagine how much time I'd sink into a portable version! Even if they made a spinoff for Switch instead of porting 4 I'd be happy
I got one of these, my first Nintendo console since the Gamecube, couldn't be happier! It's all I've played since I got it and I'm usually a PC or PS4 player
I love the Switch but I hope the next console does online better. I think a good idea would be to do what Sony are doing with the PS5 - add a basic microphone to every controller, that way everyone has voice chat capability by default, no need for a phone app
@Kienda hope you don't mind me butting in - it certainly is, I'm only level 11 and I can always find a march in less than 30 seconds, I only got a Switch recently and was dying to try Splatoon 2 and it doesn't disappoint
