Re: Video: The Problem With The Super Mario 3D All-Stars Release

InnerSpirit

I guess short term it wouldn't matter keeping 3D All Stars as a permanent release but if Nintendo adds N64 support to the online subscription then they might feel a bit cheeky charging for SM64 when if it's included for 'free' with online. If this isn't the reason and these games aren't available seperately in the future... then yes it's a poor showing for fans unable to get it during the limited release window.

Re: Mario Memories: How Super Mario Land Made Me A Nintendo Fan

My first Gameboy game (with Tetris) on my first Nintendo console and I've been hooked every since. Actually gave this a play through on my Super Gameboy a few weeks ago... love the music and the level designs are still great fun. I remember my older brother had one he told me pressing a,b, start and select would open extra levels... of course it just reset my game... good times.

Re: Soapbox: It's A Tragedy That Rare Replay Isn't On A Nintendo Console

As much as I'm looking forward to this... It's essentially a reminder of all the games that Rare don't make anymore. The N64 was my first home console and Banjo K/T were a big part of my childhood. That fact that a true Banjo adventure has yet to see the light of day is truly sad... one of the greatest games companies with some truly memorable IP's has just been left to rot for 13 years despite being own by one of the leading names in gaming. During Rare's long Microsoft years, I've never understood why they bought the company if they had no intention of use them to make Rare games??? It's just sad.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Won't Be As Powerful As PlayStation 4

InnerSpirit

Given the time lapse between the PS4 release and NX (whenever it comes) it if doesn't match the PS4 for power... then why bother. The Wii U struggled heavily for third party support. I buy Nintendo for Nintendo games but if they had a better mix of big release I'd happily just buy Nintendo. Nintendo got lucky with the Wii in terms of not competing on power but as the price of making games gets higher Nintendo needs to have a console on par with Xbox and PlayStation so developers can make games without changing/downgrading and cost them more money, especially when they aren't going to sell as much as the other version. The NX would have to be something truly special or the Wii U might be my last punt on a Nintendo home console.

Re: Exclusive: We Almost Got A Wii U F-Zero Created By Burnout Studio Criterion

InnerSpirit

What's to revive... just a Wii U version is all anyone wants. Funny that they never bother to revive Mario Kart, Mario, Zelda, Smash or any other franchise. As long as it's good quality and fun to play... more of the same is fine. Pretty sure fans only get pissed off when they don't get anything... the amount of time between Star Fox games was insane... how long are we going to wait to see F Zero, A true Metroid game and a Mario game that's in the same league as Galaxy???

Re: Poll: We Need to Talk About amiibo - Where Do You Stand?

InnerSpirit

If I could find them in the shops... I'd probably buy them all. I've only seen a few amiibo come back in stock on Nintendo UK... 6 months of wave releases and no restocks. It's a joke... stop making new ones until you can meet the demand for the stupid amount that are already out. It's a shame that they don't seem to be learning or care about the fanbase. Nintendo's entire business rests on a loyal fanbase and games aside Nintendo seems to be lagging behind the competition right across the board.

Re: Editorial: Nintendo's Approach is Often Peculiar, Yet That's An Enduring Strength

InnerSpirit

Odd is the right word... as much as I love Nintendo... I just don't understand why is struggles to give fans what they want... Amiibo stock, DS/GBA on 3DS VC, Gamecube games on Wii U VC, User ID's that make it possible to access purchases should the worst happen. Nintendo may be the most unique and creative Video game company out there but it is failing to keep up with the competition where it matters.

Re: Reaction: LEGO Dimensions Could be a Sales Phenomenon, and Nintendo Must Push It For Wii U

InnerSpirit

I'd be tempted but this is too expensive for what it is... the starter pack is double what it should be... and the lego figures are just that... lego figures. I know it's meant to be Lego but it just feels keep and nasty to pay so much for so little. At least Amiibo feel like a solid collectable you can display... even the Lego Portal looks tacky. £50 starter pack and £5 a figure is all it's worth.

Re: Head Teachers in the UK Issue Warning to Parents on 18-Rated Games Being Played by Children

InnerSpirit

I had... and still have very little interest in Adult themed games... as a kid I was happy to smash around on Mario Kart and Ocarina of Time... I did however get several games that were rating 15 and 18 such as Perfect Dark and the Turok games... essentially because my parents judge that I knew the difference between really live and gaming ... and despite shooting monsters and people neither game felt inappropriate... I actual found the games themselves were too difficult to play at that age. It should be the parents' call but they should perhaps do a little research it the type of games they let their kids play and if possible play it themselves first.

Re: Game Jam Tasks Developers With Creating A Zelda Title Starring A Female Link

InnerSpirit

I'm a traditionalist, for me Link is and always should be a guy character, because that's who he is. If Nintendo want to create a Zelda game with a new female lead or have Zelda as a playable character that would be awesome gender swapping seams a bit disrespectful to the character. Would you ask for Sonic, Mario, Samus, Lara Croft etc to mix it up... no because they're icons of gaming as is the Hero Of Time himself.

Re: Hundreds of Limited Edition Majora's Mask New Nintendo 3DS Systems Continue to Flood Onto eBay

InnerSpirit

How can Nintendo not understand the demand for its products. Surely they must realise that it's the dedicated fan base keeping them going because take Nintendo IP's out of the equation a Nintendo would have died out years ago. I get that they don't want to flood the market, but a Zelda Limited edition of a console upgrade was always going to sell well. I guess if Nintendo don't want my money... nobody's having. Will not fund this kind of gamer exploitation.
