I considered buying this as a present for a relative who enjoys Animal Crossing, back in the Wii U days. But after doing some research, it just seemed like there was no... actual game to be had here? Baffling.

@Expa0 if it bothers you so much, just buy an N64 or emulate? I don't understand this complaint when NSO is such good value. Remember Virtual Console prices? They weren't anywhere near as good value as NSO is.

X and Y were the beginning of the end for Pokémon. The move to (bad) 3D, the gimmicks like mega-evolution, the addition of fairy type, the linearity and lack of exploration...

I didn't own a 3DS at the time so I got one of these for my birthday in order to play Pokémon X. Ten years already!? 😵‍💫

Original art style was vastly superior

I had a period of time about 15 years ago where i got a bit obsessed with the website called the Backloggery. It made me take stock of my collection and sell a few games that i had no intention of ever playing again or completing. In hindsight, i wish I'd not been so neurotic and kept at least some of the games. There was nothing great in there but it was part of my personal gaming history all the same. That and i regret trading my original Platinum GBA for a Micro. Should have just got an SP if anything.

Giving us the Stadium games without any way to transfer Pokemon is almost an insult.

Metroid is better in 2D imo. I'm playing through Prime just now (for the fist time ever) and I still feel like Super Metroid is better. The jump to 3D doesn't really add anything other than... being in 3D

I wanted to buy a 3DS XL a few months ago but the only models I could find new were the newer 2DS XL models. I ended up having to get one second-hand.

@NintendoPete Have you played the first two games in the series? If not, you should - then you'll have an idea of why people are not happy with the more recent games.

Apparently the Gamecube Animal Crossing can't go further into the future than 2030, so it'll be interesting to see what happens in ten years time!

I remember getting the game back in 2004 and quoting this fact to my friends thinking "the year 2030 will never come".

My favourite Wii U games didn't even crack the top 10 (DKC Tropical Freeze and Pikmin 3)

You should add Pokémon Gold and Silver - they were compatible with the original Game Boy

Edit: I notice this has already been discussed! Anyway, I think any game which was playable on the original Game Boy should be counted, but that's just my opinion

I really enjoyed the previous games in the series but the lack of non-Sonic characters and the dodgy team-based gimmick is making me wary this time

Looks to me like the Galar region is based on Britain, just like Unova was based on France.

I bought some PAL-style ones similar to these from Ebay a few months back and they're great!

Sounds like an adaptation of the Ocean View track from Sonic Transformed, just with the Sonic R mash-up removed (and removing Sonic R music from anything is never a good thing!)

The Wii is too high at 8th. I enjoyed mine at the time, but looking back its library didn't have much going for it compared to other Nintendo consoles. The Galaxy games were classics, and it had a few other under-rated gems like Wario Land Shake and DKC Returns, but other than those... The worst Metroid and Zelda games (Other M and Skyward Sword), arguably the worst Mario Kart... In hindsight, the Wii was not great.

If it's true, I hope the controllers will have better analogue sticks! The ones back in the day basically disintegrated after a while due to wear and tear

Call it nostalgia if you want, but the original N64 versions of Ocarina and Majora will always be the best.

I'll definitely be getting an N64 mini as it's my favourite console of all time.
