Re: DS to Have Life After 3DS, says Nintendo

Incognito_D

I'll believe it when I see it. They always say things along these lines whenever a new console is about to come out, and then it never turns out to be true. Remember the claim that the DS was going to be the "third pillar" along side the GBA and GC - then in reality it went on to completely replace the GBA? yeah...

Re: Nintendo Download: 15th October (Europe)

Incognito_D

I know it's not a downloadable game, but I just realised A Shadow's Tale is out today in Europe. They kept that quiet! It doesn't even have a box art image on Amazon. I'll have to hold off buying it for now. Too many new games recently, including Sonic 4

Re: Nintendo Download: 15th October (Europe)

I downloaded Sonic just after midnight last night
Couldn't play it for long since I had to get up in the morning but looking forward to playing it again this evening.
It's completely overshadowed the other games this week!

Re: Super Mario Collection Heading to Europe in December

Incognito_D

This is effectively Super Mario All-Stars re-released, right? I already own all these games in that case, although the fact that it's a snazzy collectors pack with CD and booklet makes it appealing anyway. This and Donkey Kong Country Returns means that my Christmas list is sorted already!

Guys, you know 6/10 is still a decent score, right? I mean, if you liked the look of it before, it might still be worth checking out. Check out the scoring policy: "6/10...Whilst you should approach with a degree of caution you might still really enjoy this game."

@Dragoon
As soon as a 2D game is made, everyone says that! Then when Sonic 4 appears everyone says "I wish it was a retail game". Developers can't win!
Anyway, I like the look of this and I liked A Boy and His Blob which was also by WayForward. I might wait til it becomes around a tenner though since it's so short.

Re: Rival Turf!

Incognito_D

my friend had this as a kid. I thought it was awesome at the time because it was the only Beat em Up I'd ever played up to that point in time. Now it doesn't look so good I love how the map screen shows levels like Los Angeles as being located in Alaska!

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Races to WiiWare on October 11th

Incognito_D

I've kinda been put off slightly by the price and the fact that it's episodic. I'll wait for the review. I was really looking forward to it, but I'd rather pay £30-40 and have it all one the one disc, than pay £10 for each download.
In the meantime, I still haven't managed to ever beat Sonic 1

Re: First Impressions: Lost in Shadow

Incognito_D

I'm really quite interested in this game. Seems strange that there seems to be so little info about it and yet it's out at the end of next week. Anyway, I hope it turns out to be a quality title and I'll definitely pick it up if this is the case.

Re: First Impressions: Lost in Shadow

I have to agree with most of the replies here - just because something's a 2D platformer, why does that automatically mean it has to be a Wii Ware release? Some of my favourite games this generation have been 2D platformers (Wario Land, A Boy and His Blob, New Super Mario Bros, and Donkey Kong Country still to come)

Re: Metroid 64 Was This Close to Existing

Rare weren't technically a third party though, more like an affiliate of Nintendo so it might not have been them after all. Plus, why would Rare think that they couldn't do it justice - they were amazing back then!

Re: Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary Means Euro Club Nintendo Gets Updated

Incognito_D

@Drake - I logged into my Club Nintendo account out of curiosity. Apparently, I've accumulated a total of 13,345 Stars over the years (since about 2002) In that time, aside from 500 points, I've spent it all on Wii Points. I did just discover however, that each Wii Ware and VC game nets you 50 Stars. Never knew that! I have so many unclaimed Stars waiting for me right now - Get in!!

Re: Review: Let's Tap (Wii)

Incognito_D

It's undoubtedly a very cool idea and novel concept for a game. However, the actual substance of Let's Tap is non-existant. The only game worth bothering with is Tap Runner, and even that gets boring after a couple of goes. I get the feeling that if it had been developed by a no-name shovelware developer rather than Yuji Naka/ Sega it would be getting much less favourable reviews. I guess you could say I'm not a fan!

Re: Review: No More Heroes (Wii)

Incognito_D

Probably deserves a 9, when you take compare it with other games that have received 9s and 10s, but 8 is still a good score so I shouldn't nitpick.
Superior to the sequel in my opinion, but they're both essential Wii games.
