Re: Super Mario Odyssey Is The Best Rated Game Of All Time

@Joker13z I actually like the guy, I met him once and he was a nice guy. I don’t always agree with him, but he does touch on valid points that reviewers who work for a website don’t touch on.

Back to the game, I love it, which is an understatement. Nintendo are on a role at the moment.

Re: Anniversary: It's One Year Since Nintendo Showed Us The Switch

@Ralizah I dismissed it as I wasn’t sure how good it would be in terms of power and also battery life. Both it turns out are great, and as it uses USB-c it’s easy to charge. If they kept the clocks the same in handled then battery life would have been the same as a gaming laptop, which wouldn’t really make it mobile, so I’m glad it’s downclocked 🙂

Nintendo did great though. My PC CPU alone cost more than a Switch, so it’s amazing what this little device can do. I’m one of the few that loved the Wii U, but after poor support that was probably my biggest fear.

Re: Exclusive: Game Freak Explains Why We Should All Play Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon

Hughesy

This could be the first Pokemon game I don’t buy. Pokemon Sun didn’t excite me that much, I still haven’t completed it. The art style is great, especially for a 3DS game, but the sense of adventure just wasn’t there. Some of the stuff they did made the game easier and more streamlined, so that was partly why I didn’t enjoy it. Pokemon Gold is what I’m currently playing.

When the Switch game comes along I’ll definitely be buying that. My 3DS no longer comes to work with me, unlike my Switch.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - The Triumphant(?) Return

As a PC gamer I’m still loving my Switch, it’s honestly amazing what this little hybrid can do. When I bought it I never thought I’d choose a 3rd party game on Switch over PC, but that’s what has happened. Currently playing Fifa and Stardew Valley.

My brothers birthday is next month, he really wants a Switch, but can’t afford one due to bills, married and having a kid. So I’m buying him a Switch for his birthday, he’s going to be so shocked. I’ve been saving a bit each month so I could buy him one. I always feel I owe him, as when I was 10 I was stabbed in the head by some psycho, and if it wasn’t for my Bro putting pressure on the wound I would have bled to death. So yea he’s a very special brother and deserves this gift 😊

It also causes scratches even when you go careful with it. I have a tiny scratch on the screen and some at the back, because there’s no padding inside. To put that into perspective, my phone is 3 years old and looks new, same with my Wii U pad, so I take care of my stuff. It doesn’t take long to find similar posts, it would have cost them next to nothing to add rubber risers like laptops often have which stops that sort of thing. But if you haven’t had an issue you’ve been extremely lucky😬

Knocking it off is nowhere near as likely as causing scratches by simply docking it. I shudder to think what Switches owned by kids look like now. But maybe the docks differ slightly, so some of us get scratches and some don’t, as Im certainly not reckless when docking mine.

@NinNin I will anyway, as I have nothing better to do. Just look at the picture at the top of the article, it’s only a few inches tall. The standard dock is pretty much the same height as the Switch, with the controller attached you can’t slide it through, you have to go above the dock to then slot it in. I’m not actually sure why that’s hard for you to grasp. With the type of dock above you’d have plenty of room to slot it in under a tv stand shelf. 😜

Re: Sega Confirms Sonic Forces Is 720p, 30fps On Nintendo Switch

Hughesy

@Fuz It won’t make a difference, you will still see it at 30fps, so the input will always feel slightly delayed. So it will still be 33.33 milliseconds rather than 16.67 milliseconds response time. If it were actually possible, then every single game that runs at 30fps would do the same trick.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry on the 'Custom' Merits of FIFA 18 on Nintendo Switch

With how scaleable the Frostbite engine is I still think it can be done, but either needed more time or wanted to test the waters. With that being said I’m more than happy with the Switch version, I’m not missing the extra bells and whistles I could get on PC. My GPU alone was almost twice as expensive as a Switch, so what I’m getting with this tiny hybrid is very impressive.

Re: Poll: The Switch eShop is Hot, But Is It Time for an Overhaul of Its User Interface?

Hughesy

As it stands there’s literally no design gone into the Switch E shop, so it doesn’t need redesigning, it’s needs to be designed. There’s nothing, you have to scroll through every game to find something, unless you search for a specific game. The Wii U shop was actually rather nice, so it was a shock to see what the Switch shop was like, it’s like the console was rushed out before finishing everything.
