@sixrings The original Xbox One can't even do 1080p all the time. This is a hybrid console, it's always going to be limited compared to a home console.
@Gerald Its still not bad considering the amount of bikes on screen and the physics involved. Even on Xbox One X it's not mind blowing, although compared to 17 it's a big improvement as they moved go unreal engine.
Unless you're a Moto GP fan it's probably not worth it, but I'm a huge fan and go to watch it at Silverstone each year, so for me it's essential. I got it for free on Xbox so I also bought the Switch version, as a portable version I think it's good, much better than it was on PS Vita.
Still don't see why World isn't possible on Switch, mind you it's not visually amazing on Xbox One X which leads me to believe they are a lousy developer. So when they say it's impossible, what they mean is they aren't talented enough to make it happen.
@jockmahon With the amount of hacking going on why would people want to play? On PC there is the same issue, but you aren't paying. Hacking on XBL and PS+ isn't a issue as its pretty secure, if you have to pay to play online then you expect a premium service.
@EvrgrnCmln There's a one word reason for that now, money. The amount of money pros get not just from winning but from sponsors. Sponsors expect results, so that's where it comes from, it's sad, but it is what it is.
I was lucky to go to Butlins, no way would my parents fly me out to play videogames, his childhood sounds like every kids dream. Great story though, really enjoyable read.
I haven't bought a pre owned game in about 15 years, so this won't affect me. They do need to resort to extreme measures, especially with paid online play, as I refuse to pay to play online if hacking is a big thing, PS+ and Live are pretty secure although not totally.
PC online gaming often gets totally ruined, but at least you don't pay. Having said that I've had my Sea Of Thieves ruined many times, as there's cross play with PC, wish I could select to only play with people on the same platform
@G-Boy That's only because you haven't tried high end audio equipment, or even mid tier which cost less than Turtle Beach but have better quality. It's like Beats headphones, they are overpriced compared to the audio quality they offer.
If they were half the price they currently are they wouldn't be so bad, but with "Gamer" applied they are too much for what they offer.
There are some good headsets from lower end to high end, Corsair Void, astro A40s and A50s, Steelseries Arctis Pro+ gaming dac to name a few.
I've tried 6 different Turtle Beach headsets and they all had terrible audio quality vs the price they cost.
Turtle Beach headsets are trash, people get drawn in because of the "gamer" tag, but not only does the audio quality suck, so does the build quality, overpriced trash.
They want us to pay to play online yet it's so easy to hack online games on Switch. It's one thing on PC, at least you don't have to pay, but when you have to pay or will have to that's just not acceptable...
It's such a load of rubbish, just pencil pushers looking for something else to blame. Why isn't reading books an addiction then, I read a lot of books and play a lot of games, I don't get withdrawal when I can't read a book or play a game for a while.
@gortsi You may as well have cross play with Fifa and rocket league playing together, because like FIFA on Switch and the main consoles it's a totally different game. It doesn't take a genius to work it out. EA are talking about PC, Xbox but probably not PS4 as they don't allow cross play, they aren't talking about the Switch version.
I'm going to assume you are quite young and don't understand how online gaming works.
As someone who's job it is to keep servers running I can tell you that in order for cross play to work it needs to be the same game code on each device, Fifa on Switch is on a custom engine and is totally separate to the main version.
@gortsi Not sure how many times I have to repeat it, but this will be the last. It's impossible, because it would play differently on the main consoles and the Switch. It would be like FIFA and PES cross-play, it just wouldn't work. They are two separate games but with the same name, I have it on Switch and PS4 and they are TOTALLY different games.
The ai controlled players including the keepers are nowhere near as advanced in the Switch version.
On Switch it is totally stripped down, there's no real weight transfer, thus the Switch players would have a huge advantage. Then there's the ball physics, you can score from miles out on Switch because again it's simplified on Switch. Then there's the tricks and how you can shield the ball, it works differently on PS4 compared to Switch. The reason games like Fortnite have cross play is because it's the same game just with worse/better graphics.
Every game that has had cross play is the same game but with different graphics, that's why it works. The way FIFA is coded is completely different, so there would be massive conflicts, thus each game wouldn't know how to communicate with each other. It has nothing to do with how demanding a game is, when they are two different games they wouldn't work together. If you've ever done any coding in your life you'd know it wouldn't work.
@gortsi The physics between the two versions of Fifa are totally different though, it has nothing to do with graphics. There's so much you can do in the main version which is simply impossible to do in the Switch version, so yes it's impossible, you can't have two physics engines running in the same game.
Not sure why this is posted here, because until the Switch version is using the same game engine it won't be included, because the game plays totally different to the PC, Xbox and PS version.
Thanks NintendoLife for taking the view that some of us simply can't use motion controls. With my disability I simply can't, yet my 3 year old nephew wants it for his birthday and will want me to play it with him, yet I can't because the developers don't care. Nintendo making it harder for disabled people to play games, yet Microsoft are going the extra mile so EVERYONE can enjoy gaming.
Not surprised. I just hope they have announcements held back, although that wouldn't make sense when so many watch E3. The Switch has done amazingly well, but they can't afford to have lulls like Wii U.
@Taffy Most people already have Fortnite on other platforms, they aren't going to buy a Switch because Fortnite is on it. I now have it on 4 platforms but it's cool to have it on Switch for when I'm away from home.
I think out of the three Nintendo had the worst E3, you need to come out swinging whilst the iron is hot and they didn't. I'm not really bothered though as I Love my Switch, but E3 is a chance to sell more units with hype.
Between my Switch, PC, PS4 Pro and Xbox One X I have a lot to look forward to.
So 11pm BST. Not a problem for me as I have a week off, but why does USA get it now and not the rest of the world. Haven't really looked much as I've played it to death, but is it only 30fps or 60fps like the other consoles?
@GuruOfGreatness No catch, the BR mode has always been free. Skins cost money, but in my 150 hours ish play I've never bought one, there's no pay to win stuff in the game.
@JaxonH Some people flat out can't or don't want to use any form of motion controls, there's literally no reason to force it on people as its not hard hard to add options. Myself I can't use motion controls because I suffer from multiple sclerosis and can't aim using motion, maybe some here should think before posting because not everyone is moaning just because....
They said the same during the last gen era. It's just not going to happen, not only do people like owning games, but the input lag and servers create a poor experience no matter how fast your broadband is. Just look at how terrible PS Now games look and feel compared to physically owning and playing the same game.
They make pure trash these days, so I can't say I'm excited. They care more about Pachinko machines rather than investing in AAA games. What they did with the MGS brand is disgusting, it had the same quality as a Steam asset flip.
@DarthNocturnal You'd think that, but you can't do that between PS4 and Xbox, the platform you first played it with is th one you have to use. So I'm stuck playing it on PS4 Pro rather than Xbox One X.
I'm looking forward to dominating Switch only players, by that I mean those that haven't played it. Pro tip though, build rather than shoot. Because if you can out fox somebody whilst building you will get easy kills, if you just stand there and shoot you will get killed.
It's a start. Now I wish there was a way to filter out mobile phone trash. It seems to be going the same way as Steam, so great indie games will soon get buried.
Still that's enough negativity, I'm glad Nintendo are adding some functionality to the store.
@EasyDaRon Why would that be a let down? Fallout 3 or New Vegas are the best games in the series. Whatever this new game is trying to be I don't care, it's only using the Fallout name to sell the game rather than creating a new ip.
Alas I have no idea why this is being posted on a dedicated Nintendo site, when it's not coming to the Switch.
@electrolite77 Because EA have form for doing this. Every time a game isn't seen as an equal they just re-release it with minamal effort. Also I have Fifa 17 on both Switch and PS4 and the ai are a lot different, more variety, smarter and don't use the same tactics. PES has awful so imo, I don't mind that game but I wouldn't say ai is it's strong point.
@kobashi100 No because they actually change the way the game plays, not always for the better, but they at least try. Fifa on vita was literally the same game being resold over and over again.
Fifa on Switch already plays like the last gen era, so it's already lagging behind in the physics and ai department. The AI are too easy to predict for me on the hardest difficulty, as there's no variety in how they play, that's not what the PC and other current consoles are like.
I've still played it to death, as like I said it's the best mobile Fifa game.
In other words just like they did with PS Vita, different skins, same game. It's still the best portable football game, but this is what I feared would happen.
@Anti-Matter Hey man I have no issue with that, but until about 5 mins ago I thought this was the main Switch Pokemon game, which it isn't. That being said Pokemon doesn't need to be made easy for people to enjoy it, I was only a kid when Red came out and played it to death.
I can't see this attracting a casual gamer who only plays Go into buying a Switch, they will just keep playing the mobile game. Somebody who is a casual gamer isn't going to pay over £200 to play a game, but we will see.
@skrax I won't be. Never bought Pokemon Ultra Sun. The series had already changed too much, but not in a good way. I've never had a interest in Pokemon Go, so the Switch version which is like Go mobile I really have no interest.
They had a chance to do something great, it's the first time they've actually had modern hardware, and they decide to get rid of everything that made the series great.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but my hype just died. Using Pokemon Go asserts, really? And you don't fight the wild Pokemon either by the looks of it.....
Well as someone who has World and not a big fan of the direction it's taken, I'll be picking this up as I loved the 3DS version. This will probably be the last Monster Hunter game on Switch now that Capcom don't care about the Nintendo fan base

God Of War on PS4 Pro, and Football Manager on Switch.
