@ironside1911 I too have done some research and came to the conclusion based on reviews (some from people that I know personally) that I will not risk any amount over £100 with this company... come to think of it not even £50.
I applaud you for letting those willing to listen of the risk of using this company but ultimately you can't argue with people on how or where to spend their own cash.
One can only use the information available before making a decision if to use the company. We choose not too, others will choose to use them. Some will get burn, some will get good service.
BTW I have a list of Amazon sellers I use exclusively for my tech. Never been burned by any of them and ALL of them have excellent credentials and reviews.
@Mellor2000 Yeah, very dodgy. They will take pre-orders at £199 for the red/blue console, taking your money upfront. I expect Looooong delays on those systems.
Meanwhile the grey consoles will be sold at the RRP of £280.
@DarkKirby
Totally agree with your answer. Pure common sense.
No, it doesn't need them. Of course not.
BUT...
Yes, having these features would add value to the console for many potential buyers.
Some fanboys would say "Everything else has these features so why should the Switch?"
Some General consumers will say "Everything else has these features, why doesn't the Switch?"
Personally I couldn't care less if the Switch have these features or not but to appeal to the widest possible market it would make sense to have these features.
We are all have different circumstances all over the world. Just because I don't care about internet or Netflix on the Switch doesn't mean others don't.
Will give this one a miss but hope it does well. Maybe I will pick it up once the price drops, who knows.
I do agree that it does look a better game with the more info revealed. The initial showing was more like a game one would spend £35 for, not the rumoured £60/£65.
I believed them when they said PCars was 100% coming to the Wii U. I agree with those that say E3 is what will make or break the Switch over the coming year.
Whatever games they show at E3 must appeal to more than their diehard fans. This is what so many fans don't understand and only want games that appeal to themselves and a few other people. Recipe for disaster that strategy.
@impurekind

People brainwashed by media news, opinion and advertising I believe can be "unplugged from the matrix" - to use your reference.
@ateijelo
A balanced Nintendo fan. You my friend are a rarity. I agree with you 100% however.
@TreasureFan
You make good points on the online service but until the cost is reveal I will reserve my judgement.
Xbox and PS have a strong online service with a zillion online games, integrated chat and free games.
Nintendo has 1% of the online games these consoles do.
If they ask us to pay close to anything that PS and Xbox charge with so little content most people (not fanboys) will tell them to go to hell.
@BiasedSonyFan
"How many video games just uses the touchscreen?"
I seriously doubt any would just use the touch screen alone like a tablet because the controllers will almost always give you a far better experience, it can even be combined with the touch screen.
I just hope ALL games can be played docked using the TV, without using the touchscreen. I am no fan of handhelds and my Switch will probably NEVER leave its dock.
@Tsurii
Great to see at least someone READ the article.
Nope. After that much time and still only 0.5% funds raise this game doesn't look likely.
What do you do when all else fails?
Turn to a group of people desperate for anything, the Nintendo fans.
Say you MAY put it on their beloved console and see if you can take their money because no one else is interested.
I am not saying it will not happen, anything is possible. If this game does get made then I eat my dog.
Isn't it whatever it's creator says it is? A hybrid.
For me personally it is a home console. That's simply because it will probably never leave its place next to my TV.
I see no reason to take it with me anywhere. I am no fan of handhelds.
My small "man bag" is already full of tech that I already find a pain to carry around. Phones, tablet, ereader, etc. No way I intend to add to the load.
Having photography as a hobby I have tried a few cards.
For my 4K camera I use Sandisk Extreme Plus/Pro.
For reliability I find Lexar cards very good (and durable).
For my Switch I will use a Lexar 128GB from one of my cameras and replace it with another Sandisk EP.
From my experience the read/write speeds are very similar on PC but on cameras the Sandisk perform far better.
I still hope they enable USB HDD support, but considering Nintendos close ties to SanDisk (they both develop the Nintendo GameCards) maybe there is a "scratch my back" scenario going on as Nintendo will recommend SanDisk over other cards.
@Andrzej777 I totally agree with you and facts support much of what you said, at least in theory.
That is the conundrum of Nintendo.
BTW when I was talking about AAA third party games I wasn't referring to ports. I was talking a proper, new, full, big budget same day release title on all consoles including the Switch. That is something I will hope to see in my lifetime again, such a game on a Nintendo console. Maybe that is asking too much.
When will people learn that the successful launching of a console means absolutely nothing. It's no guarantee.
Surely intelligent people learn from history according to some great man whose name I can't remember.
Many flops started well. (Lol, Especially in sports).
I am not saying that the Switch won't sell a trillion (I hope it does) but to base success on preorders is not wise.
I do not mean to be offensive to anyone but I like to keep expectations realistic. Like calming fanbs when they boasted about Tegra X2 and PS4 graphics in the Switch.
I do not see this news as positive or negative. I see it as a sensible business decision after the Wii+WiiU.
Many developers will play a waiting game with the Switch, regardless of what games and support they promised.
All I can do is HOPE it turns out relatively well in the long term.
I said it before and I say it again (and will keep saying it).
E3 2017 is where the Switch will be made or destroyed. I strongly doubt there will be any coming back if that is a disaster. Too many potential customers may be completely turned off.
If third parties are willing to truly back the Switch with AAA games then we will know at E3.
It is great to get ANY game on your console (maybe even shovel ware) but I want to see a real big budget third party on a Nintendo console again before the world ends.
I like the Nintendo Switch a lot and will get one.
There are however many unknowns and I can understand those who choose to play a waiting game.
For example some friends of mine are very interested in the Switch but being either in the MS or Sony camp they are very sceptical of the online services more than third party support.
Is online any good? What is the cost? Is it worth it? Until this is cleared up I can see many people choosing to sit on the fence and that, like I said, is reasonable thinking.
OK I had time to think it over.
I have so much tech under and plugged into my TV it is becoming a nightmare. I don't have enough HDMI ports.
It takes up far too many seconds in my one and only life fiddling around the back of the TV trying to Switch cables (no pun intended) when necessary.
The Switch being able to stream Netflix will be beneficial to me. It's not THAT important, but it would help. My TV is capable of streaming Netflix but the experience is bad.
Personally this doesn't really bother me but I can totally understand why it is important to some people and is a turn off.
In 2017 it takes more than games to sell consoles to many people - excluding hardcore fans, apparently.
It's NOT just about games for Joe Public. That's why MS and Sony love to show off these other multimedia features on their consoles. Being multifunctional is the current state of things.
No one buys a phone ONLY to make calls only anymore.
It's also psychological and good marketing as people like to think they are getting more features for their money, whether they decide to use these features or not. At least they have control of that option.
For me the WiiU died a while back.
OK, that's not strictly true but all recent games bought have been secondhand and still to be played.
As for the servers I can forgive Nintendo for no long term support because MS and now Sony charge for online and can therefore maintain them longer. Hence the X360 that launched before the Wii is still maintaining online gaming.
I expect far longer online game lifetimes now from Nintendo who are asking for my hard earned rupees.
This should have been packed in like Wii Sports on the Wii.
Personally I have absolutely zero interest in this based on the treehouse demo. Even if the game was free with the Switch.
My wife, relatives and friends probably won't be either or be bored of it in seconds.
Good. Zelda is a "living" entity and must evolve. If not physically then emotionally etc
Really hope this lives up to and surpasses the hype.
It has been waaaaay to long since a new Zelda.
@capitalism
I do understand your enthusiasm but preorders means nothing.
What matters is what happens in April and May when the fanboys have bought the console. Is anyone outside of hardcore fanbs biting is what time will reveal.
The first days and weeks prove nothing. XboxOne match PS4 in sales for a while before being blown away.
My aim is not to cloud you positive sunny outlook. I just rather wait and see and be cautiously optimistic.
@Splatmaster "I think the people on here praising Nintendo saying the memory can be expandable to 2TB are in La La land...and who pays for it!!!!!!!!!! Not Nintendo but you the public, the Switch isn't £280, it's now £330/£350/£370 and the costs keep on growing."
They don't see it the way you do - and very likely the thinking public. They are fanbs of the system. I understand their reasoning. I don't buy into it but I understand it.
Don't forget to throw in the play online cost soon to be added.
@jswhitfield8 What you say is true regarding different storage requirements between the consoles.
But that doesn't change the fact that I used up over 400GB on the WiiU external HDD with game downloads. I am speaking from my own experiences with Nintendo consoles. If I did 400GB on the WiiU why not the Switch?

1TB HDD cost £45.00 for my other console.
The equivalent on microSD cost hundreds. I download a lot of games so 500GB total SD will probably be what I am after and I only get good quality cards. That's over £180 added to £279 cost of the console right there totalling £459 to make it equal to the lower end XboxOne or PS4 regarding storage.
I understand it is what it is but I wish they still allowed for external USB HDD via the dock. I will probably never use it as a handheld anyway. I really hope they consider this in a future update.
@ThanosReXXX
My first point was the weak launch lineup. At least there we agree.
You then carried on ranting to me about stuff I didn't even mention so maybe you have me confused with someone else. Easily done.
My second point was the cost of the accessories.
You just don't get it do you.
The average consumer don't care about the tech in it. They see the price of the accessories and are further turned off from buying the system by it. That's what the publications are saying.
I am a Nintendo fanboy, proudly so and I want the Switch to succeed, but I am not gonna blindly defend and agree with everything they do like a brainless toad.
Edit: I by no means directly refer to you in my last statement.
@ThanosReXXX
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, that doesn't make them all idiots but I get your point.
The major complaints are the games. If you think that is a great launch lineup you need to .. whatever.
The major launch game is Zelda and that's on the WiiU. No need to get a Switch until Christmas when I am betting the price will drop drastically like it did with the 3DS after its launch. They can't afford to keep the price high like they did with the WiiU after its poor launch.
As for accessories you gotta be joking. A standard XboxOne controller is £35 and a PS4 £40. The Pro controller is £70.
Yeah there is a lot of tech in it but it is twice the cost of a XboxOne controller. That piece of plastic steering wheel is £30.
Polygon, The Verge and others consider the accessories prices to be a ridiculous joke. They are idiots too I suppose.
One good thing that came out of the presentation and treehouse today is that it totally and finally killed that nonsense about it being a "graphical powerhouse" to compete with the XboxOne never mind the PS4.
If that is Tegra X2 and Pascal like "the intelligent experts" claimed will be in the Switch then Nintendo got robbed.
All those games shown looked exactly like WiiU games.
I have had plenty of arguments about Nintendo milking their fans of their cash but their fans like to milked so I say milk them.
Unlike with PS4 and "Last of Us" I see Nintendo charging the FULL price for this game.
For me that's exploitation so I won't buy it unless massively reduced. But I want the Switch to succeed so I hope they can milk those fanbs that have no issues with it.
I gave it a 7 out of 10 and I am very critical of Nintendo.
I think they are holding information back and much more will be reveal before the launch through a Direct or such.
To confirm ONE launch game (the 1-2 game has got to be packed in) during the whole presentation makes no sense unless there is yet another presentation at a later date.
When you reread a lot of the older posts a lot of people initially thought that US$300, €300 and £275 were fair prices. Then that rumour came about that it was $250 and many fell for it.
I can see the price being $279 and £250 soon after launch and poor sales.

Re: Hands On: Putting the Nintendo Switch Hardware Through Its Paces
@gcunit
The response to the launch games from the media is very underwhelming, as it should be. It is bad.
I have just seen the prices of the accessories. Diabolical.
The internet is now turning against the Switch.
Re: Hands On: Putting the Nintendo Switch Hardware Through Its Paces
Any Aussies here? I heard the Switch is $470 in Australia, way more expensive than the PS4.
If true that is madness.
Re: Hands On: Putting the Nintendo Switch Hardware Through Its Paces
Thank heavens all those "It is as powerful as the PS4" people have gone away. Hopefully never to come back again.
The other reality is that this is going to be an uphill battle for Nintendo when the fanb sunglasses are taken off.
I wish them all the best and by preordering my support.
Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Switch Presentation Summary
One good thing that came out of the presentation and treehouse today is that it totally and finally killed that nonsense about it being a "graphical powerhouse" to compete with the XboxOne never mind the PS4.
If that is Tegra X2 and Pascal like "the intelligent experts" claimed will be in the Switch then Nintendo got robbed.
All those games shown looked exactly like WiiU games.
Re: Nintendo Switch Release Date And Retail Price Confirmed, Region Locking Is Out
@Rei
I did think the Japanese price was correct because of the source.
But the Japanese price means nothing to me. I don't live there so really don't care.
The rumours that I was referring to were obviously Western prices.
Re: Gallery: New Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Screenshots Look Pretty Fresh
@Yasume
Re: Soapbox: The Switch Presentation Was Good, but Not Perfect
I gave it a 7 out of 10 and I am very critical of Nintendo.
I think they are holding information back and much more will be reveal before the launch through a Direct or such.
To confirm ONE launch game (the 1-2 game has got to be packed in) during the whole presentation makes no sense unless there is yet another presentation at a later date.
Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Nintendo Switch Presentation?
The whole point of a console's launch is the games.
Nintendo claimed they have learnt the lessons from the WiiU flop launch but I have my doubts.
Yet tonight the launch line up is very weak. You don't need a Switch for Zelda.
A really great presentation of the hardware let down by the software.
Re: Nintendo Switch Will Cost £279.99 In The UK
When you reread a lot of the older posts a lot of people initially thought that US$300, €300 and £275 were fair prices. Then that rumour came about that it was $250 and many fell for it.
I can see the price being $279 and £250 soon after launch and poor sales.
Re: Nintendo Introduces 1-2-Switch, A Party Game Which Asks You To Ignore The Screen
Personally I found the whole presentation of this game confusing (stuttering video probably didn't help).
I reserve my judgement.
Re: Super Mario Odyssey Will Be Trotting Globes On Switch This Holiday Season
Game of the night IMO.
Can't wait for Andre@GamExplain to sink his teeth into this one.
Re: Guide: Where To Pre-Order The Nintendo Switch, Games And Accessories
Already pre ordered from Game. Yeah, I know.
Re: Nintendo Unveils Tricks and Features of the Joy-Con Controllers
Really was impressed with this part of the presentation, even the translator seemed wide awake and excited.
