Re: Reggie Fils-Aimé Promises "A Big E3" For Nintendo This Year

Hotfusion

Nintendo needs a big E3 and I was sure they would deliver.

Now Reggie had to open his mouth and spoil it.

The same mouth that swore "there will be no game droughts on the 3DS" and after that "we have learnt from the 3DS so there will be no game droughts on the Wii U".

Reggie will make a great European politician.

Re: Nintendo of America Says to Check Retailers as More Switch Stock is On the Way

Hotfusion

@SLIGEACH_EIRE

Once again they attack you when you speak the truth. They are Switches in ROI. There are online in stock.

There are Switches in some Argos stores in the UK. You can click and collect.

I believe it is in the US (maybe Japan) where shortages will be around for a long time.

@Crono1973

Business is about being able to react to demand. Sometimes the demand is too great or production materials too low.

In this case I think Nintendo can do better. Sony and MS sold a lot more consoles to a greater market and the demand was global.

However, it always makes sense to roll out with a reasonable number in case of any unforeseen problems. Take the Joy Cons.

Re: New Electronics Ban on Certain UK and US Flights Includes the Nintendo Switch

Hotfusion

@MadAdam81
You are seriously deluded. "Most terrorist attacks are by white.. citizens". What utter garbage.

Let's keep it this century ( since 9/11).

Facts are facts. Non-white Islamic terrorist has killed more people in the west than crazy white right wing fanatics using terrorist tactics. If you throw in the attacks in the Middle East, Africa and Asia this figure rockets. FACT.

Significantly more terrorist attacks on civilians in public places were carried by non-whites in the west this century. FACT. Again throw in countries like Iraq and Afghanistan etc., and that figure soars.
How many white people do you see running around the Middle East blowing themselves up on an almost daily basis?

In the U.K. if you compare ALL terrorist attacks by race THIS CENTURY your statement is senseless.

I have already researched France, Germany, Belgium etc, same thing.

Spain ... um they have ETA so must look into that.

I will agree with you that the media hates referring to white atrocities as terrorism. They now like referring to any attack as "mental illness".

They are crazy loonies on ALL sides but let's keep it real and factual and stop this "white people are the worst" crap.
I am not saying white people are saints... hell no. All races have their angels and demons.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Says Nintendo is 'Fact-Finding' on Joy-Con Connection and Screen Scratching Issues

Hotfusion

@Action51
Nintendo is not singled out as the victim because fanboys from all factions attack each other and the PC "Master Race" attacks everyone.

This is nothing compared to what the PS3 went through when it was launched. The press and Nintendo fanboys slaughtered the PS3 and laughed at Sony's dire economics at the time. The Wii and Nintendo were flying high then, and X360 had PROD.

But you are right. Early adopters always suffer but that is their purpose in life.

I bought a Switch and had a good offer from someone to buy it from me.
I might take a leaf out of your book by selling it and getting another around December when/if Nintendo fix the issues that I experienced with my Switch, like the joy con.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Says Nintendo is 'Fact-Finding' on Joy-Con Connection and Screen Scratching Issues

Hotfusion

It's how Nintendo respond to these issues, whether fake or real.

The stupidest thing I have heard from Nintendo in a while is to tell users to keep smart devices away from the joy con.
The same freaking smart devices that they are implementing to play a major part of their online strategy.

"Yeah, you can chat on your device in play, but to do this put the joy cons down and move away from them during a live game".

Utterly stupid.

Yeah, and I need a long freakin' cable for my headphones playing in TV mode because.... no wireless headphones.

They could at least have had the intelligence to put an earphone jack into the controller, similar to the WiiU.
Then again I can understand why they didn't do that but it is still stupid.

BTW NintendoLife, those portable batteries you listed as great accessories for the Switch DON'T WORK properly, actually I don't think the are any that does work properly due to the 15V/26A charge rates. I am not blaming you or anything... just saying.

Re: Don't Buy Another Switch Dock Just Yet

Hotfusion

@Ballzilla
I respect your attitude. That's exactly how you deal with it. I am negative and positive about the Switch when I need to be.

At the same time those ""YES" people that defends EVERYTHING Nintendo does are equally annoying.

No company or product is perfect, intelligent people accept that.

When you can find no wrong in a company or product what does that make you?

Re: Don't Buy Another Switch Dock Just Yet

Hotfusion

@PlywoodStick
Lol. We are all adults here but let's act like kids and tell on those who disagree with me or dare to say anything derogatory about some silicon in plastic that I adore called a Switch, so they can get banned.

That is EXACTLY what those other sites are like. Childish people begging for bans for those that disagree with them.

Let the moderators at NL do their jobs.

Re: Nintendo Switch Demand Prompts GameStop to Offer Ludicrous Bundle for Delivery by 16th April

Hotfusion

The demand in the US must be truly great. Without region lock just get one from Europe/UK. Still be cheaper.

On UK Ebay a workmate got one BNIB for £350 with Zelda.
If you don't believe that a large amount of scalpers bought Switches you are not being realistic.

Ebay EU is full of Switches at far better deals than ripoff Gamestop. In UK Buy It Now prices range from £325 up the £700 LoL. Many BNIB.

If you throw in postage it may still work out cheaper.

I DO NOT usually support scalpers but what Gamestop is doing is far worst. The are suppose to be a "proper business" but are making the scalpers look like the good guys.

Re: Review: Mario Sports Superstars (3DS)

So true. From all my previous years of Nintendo gaming really starting with the N64, The Nintendo Seal meant (to me) that the game can be bought without a second thought. Quality guaranteed.

Now these days, unfortunately...

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Says Services Like Netflix and Hulu "Will Come In Time" To Nintendo Switch

Hotfusion

It's all about choice and I am please Nintendo sees that.

If you don't want these services then don't download/install them.
If you do want them then get them.

Don't understand why some people go on about this being a bad thing because "I don't want these services because they are on everything else". Then don't download them. Simples. Leave those that do want them alone.

I want them on the Switch because "these services ARE on everything else".

Most of all I want people to have the choice.

Re: Nintendo Switch's Joy-Con Disconnection Woes Could Be Hardware-Related

Hotfusion

Lol. Doesn't this totally void the warranty.

There is always a risk adopting tech early. It's just the way it is.

The article is correct though, if this can be proved as a hardware fault, Nintendo will have some thinking to do. How many people are going to buy faulty hardware if they are aware of it?

Seriously, Google Nintendo Switch. All you get are negatives about the consoles hardware.

Re: Opening Sales for Nintendo Switch in North America Set a New High

Hotfusion

@Agent721
Well said. I rather wait for the sales figures to be confirmed but everything points to a success FOR A NINTENDO CONSOLE.

What is considered success for Nintendo is disaster for Sony or MS.

Selling 80,000 consoles in the U.K. at launch is a resounding success for Nintendo. For Sony that is rubbish.

The PS4 and XBone smash launch records in N.America. I seriously doubt the Switch will get close.

A "wild success" IMO is if the Switch match those numbers but to each their opinion.

I am however very please with the way the early sales are looking.

Re: Opening Sales for Nintendo Switch in North America Set a New High

Hotfusion

That is good to hear but I am very wary of a rapid slowdown in sales once the fanboys sales are out the way and the negativity of the system in the media regarding dead pixels, scratching and syncing joy con bites.

Doubling the WiiU sales in the UK is nothing special considering how pathetic that console sold but I suppose you got to take any positive.

It would be interesting to see how the Switch compares to the competition's launch, for scientific research.

I really don't know if the March launch affected sales, but Nintendo obviously thought it would not or couldn't wait till xmas with a dead WiiU.

Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild Makes UK Debut in Second, Three Top 10 Switch Titles in Total

Hotfusion

In this generation 80k in the U.K is a good launch for Nintendo. It would have been a disaster for Sony and disappointing for MS but that is a solid number for Nintendo.

BTW they were Switches to be had in Tesco and some Argos stores outside of the big cities a couple hours ago if anyone interested.

Once all the fanboys have bought the console early the true test is how appealing it is to the casuals.

The sales I am interested in are the ones two months from now.
Also the negatives now surrounding the console must be overcome.

Re: Nintendo Switch With Dead Pixels? It's Not A Defect, Claims Nintendo

Hotfusion

@KageMaru
Yes, you are 100% correct. Phones and tablets do use higher resolutions these days.

That's why I made it clear that my observations are over a number of years. Actually since my post I remembered that the only device I ever noticed a dead pixel on was a Pocket PC from HP circa 2004.

Obviously I am not including computer screens or TVs.

Re: Nintendo Switch With Dead Pixels? It's Not A Defect, Claims Nintendo

Hotfusion

I am no expert in such matters but I do have eyes.

I have never encountered dead pixels during the years I have owned and used many different phones and tablets at home and work.

Is Nintendo using substandard display tech in comparison to even the cheapest smartphone and tablets?

Nintendo are trying to be like Apple. When one of their iPhones had issues Apple said to "hold it differently" which annoyed many but at least they fixed the issue.

Re: Nintendo Provides Official Advice for Switch Joy-Con Connection Issues

Hotfusion

@gatorboi352

This statement release is making Nintendo look a bit stupid.

They advice you to keep your Switch away from laptops, tablets, etc.,

Yet at the very heart of their online services is using these same smart devices for online game chat among other things.

Also wireless headsets are all a major part of online gaming on normal consoles.

That statement is weird and obviously not thought through.

Re: Nintendo of America's Store Opens Orders on Individual Nintendo Switch Docks

Hotfusion

@Spanjard
Seriously, I was thinking the same thing. Why not just add a few more dollars and get another Switch rather than buy the dock, joy-cons, charger, etc. Heck, the spare Switch can be a charger the extra joy-con when you are using the other pair.

Maybe Nintendo sneakily thought the same thing, double the sales.

I am liking this new, mean, cold blooded Nintendo.

Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Launch Day Shopping List: Micro SD Cards, Controllers And Accessories

Hotfusion

My sister asked me to get a Switch for her son for his birthday. I left the office walked into Game a hundred or so yards away and bought one at during my lunch break. No fuss.

Wifey (works from home on Fridays) told me the one I pre-ordered hasn't arrived yet. Why did I bother?

Anyhow I also ordered the EC Technology 22400mAh battery. I already have one and they are exceptional.
They are about £20.00 at Amazon.

Disclaimer: I am not in any way connected to EC Tech.

I am just pointing out that they offer MORE juice than the iMuto for less money and not that much less power than the Aukey 30000 for less than half the price.

Re: Feature: The Long Journey to Lead the Nintendo Switch Line - CND and TriForce

Hotfusion

To each is own. They're not harming anyone so let them do what they want to do.

From a personal perspective I would hope my offspring at 19 years old put this kind of commitment and effort to a greater human cause but that's just me.

I suppose this is more of an American thing. Can't think of any British people going to this extent for a console. At least none that made it mainstream.

Then to a Nintendo fan this is probably a great human cause. To each his own.

Re: Parent Trap: A Family Gamer's Perspective On The Nintendo Switch

Hotfusion

@yuwarite
You are one of the very few people that paid any attention when Nintendo said over and over again that the Switch is a "console that can also be used as a portable".

Yet there are these types that ignore this and blatantly tell you no, it is a "portable that work as a console" as if they were the ones who invented it.

"A portable that also works as a console" will perform best when it is in it's primary mode, being a portable.

"A console that is also a portable" works best in it's primary role, attached to a TV. Then the CPU/GPU power is at full max, not at 50% or 75% when in handheld mode.

@gatorboi352 annoys a lot of emotional people and I like that. To me there are few things worst than compulsive "YES MEN".
Some call him a troll because he is NEGATIVE to the object they love. He does SOMETIMES however, offer food for thought about the system.

Your argument is the one I always promote when discussing how the Switch will succeed.

It will succeed if Nintendo properly manage the amalgamation of it's handheld and console divisions into the Switch.

Nothing is certain and success not guaranteed. Just because a few fanbs climax over the Switch doesn't mean Joe Public does.
Many of them probably want Nintendo to fail so their games can come to their phones and consoles (I may be joking.. but it is out there).

I think Switch will keep Nintendo in the game but it is not going to blaze any trails.

Re: Gallery: Let's Compare The Nintendo Switch To Other Handhelds

Hotfusion

@KinneKted
At least you listened to (or read) what Nintendo said of the Switch console. Over and over again Nintendo says it is "home console that is portable".

The mode in which it operates best is what it PRIMARILY is. As a handheld it's power is gimped. As a TV console it works at full throttle.

It is not exactly rocket science.

Re: Gallery: Here's How Nintendo Switch Game Cards Compare To Practically Everything Else

Hotfusion

@j-life
I agree with you and find no fault in what you said. Let's face it, disc would be unpractical on the Switch, even mini ones.

As for disc loading times, to me this was a Nintendo issue on the WiiU and Wii. The way the other consoles utilises HDD makes this a non issue. At least for me.

You mentioned Donkey Kong TF loading times but personally I found the loading time on almost all Nintendo disc based games a pain. The truth is everything about the WiiU is slow. It took my WiiU sometimes up to twenty seconds just to get into the settings. I changed my router recently and whereas my other devices find networks and connects in seconds, it took ages on the WiiU.

The good news is that the Switch menu is blinding fast (from the YouTube video) and I expect game loading to be the same so we should both be happy.

Oh, one other thing I like about game cards. Noise.. or rather the lack of it.

My WiiU is so noisy reading disc it is annoying.

Re: Even When Under Pressure The Nintendo Switch Isn't Too Hot To Handle

Hotfusion

The Nvidia shield got seriously hot. I didn't read the fine print but I am pretty sure that like some mobile phones they publish a disclaimer about devices getting hot when used to run games.

No way "kiddie" Nintendo was going to allow that.

I can imagine the lawsuits coming their way from parents claiming their kids fingers caught on fire using the system.

Wasn't there an issue with the 3DS giving kids headaches that was taken to court or something? Don't quote me on that though.

Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Launch Games: The Complete List

Hotfusion

@SLIGEACH_EIRE

I didn't know you weren't getting a Switch at launch and I see your posts on every damn thread

As long as you stay within the rules of the forum you can say what you want as long as you want no matter who it annoys.

In all gaming forums fanboys want anyone that opposes (therefore annoys them) in the gallows because we don't agree with them or think like them.

I am a big Nintendo fan but I don't kneel at their altar. I know you like Nintendo too from what I have read but haven't drunk their robot juice.

Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Launch Games: The Complete List

Hotfusion

@NESlover85
Yes it is a really weak line up but for the Nintendo hardcore fans it's ecstatic. This is who Nintendo is after initially.

I care very little for the launch lineup apart from Zelda. I however understand what Nintendo are doing. Games like MK8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2 should be launch titles but they are deliberately holding them back to avoid a "drought".
Could have been better IMO.

After such a weak launch lineup E3 must be absolutely boss.

Re: Gallery: Here's How Nintendo Switch Game Cards Compare To Practically Everything Else

Hotfusion

@Nintendoforlife
When I said that initially I was not quite sure about gamecards, I was referring to a time looong before the console was revealed.

The rumour of the SWITCH USING "CARTRIDGES" was what was circulating. Now let's face it, a cartridge and a gamecard are two totally different things to most people.. well to me anyway.

BTW carrying games around is NOT an issue for me. It will be indeed a miracle if my Switch EVER left it's dock.

I carry so much tech around that the last thing I want is to add more gadgets to the lot, however I respect your point as it factual and will be ideal for others.

Re: Nintendo France Expects Switch To Beat Wii U's Lifetime Sales In Region By Year End

Hotfusion

@BinaryFragger
I rest my case. Seriously though Nintendo don't have a choice, they have to hype up their system and say it will sell great. They simply have to.

It's those that take everything Nintendo say as gospel that needs to wake up.

The rest of the world was saying only fanboys will care about the WiiU and Nintendo and its fanboys were saying "everyone" will buy one. Yes, I remember the blind deluded fans of 2012.

History sometimes repeats itself.
I think in the end the Switch should be OK but that depends on Nintendo, not the consumer.

Re: Nintendo France Expects Switch To Beat Wii U's Lifetime Sales In Region By Year End

Hotfusion

Nothing spectacular about outselling a pathetic WiiU in a European country.

The spin is to automatically assume that every one who bought a WiiU will buy a Switch straight away, the same way the "experts" assumed "everyone" that bought a Wii will buy a WiiU a few years back.

My personal prediction for the Switch is that it will follow a 3DS pattern. Once the fanboys have bought it sales will slow down as cautious potential buyers wait and see.

After a year or so it will perform OK if the games come. I mean real games that sell consoles, and a constant supply of them, not indie shovel ware that only extreme fanboys get excited about.

Re: Video: Nintendo Switch User Interface Shown Off In Leaked Footage

Hotfusion

@rjejr
I think I remember that.
Anyhow There is an Unboxing of the SWITCH now on YouTube and it looks pretty authentic. It was put up not long ago.

It is done by the same "hiphop robot" guy responsible for this UI.
It will be reported on this site in a few hours I guess.

Obviously some people rather wait and experience the first unboxing themselves but if like me you don't really care about such "insignificances" check it out.

Apparently his preorder shipment was sent early.

Re: Video: FIFA 18 Gets Shown Off In Japanese Nintendo Switch Commercial

Hotfusion

@roboshort
No, I am not parroting, I LISTEN. You must LEARN to READ what others write.

I clearly wrote that if you LISTEN to their ads and STATEMENTS (obviously you MUST read some of their statements) Nintendo promotes it as primarily a home console.

What do you come back with? A VISUAL interpretation found all over the internet and you accuse me of parroting. Haha.

Re: Video: FIFA 18 Gets Shown Off In Japanese Nintendo Switch Commercial

Hotfusion

When a game looks terrible (graphics) we are quickly reminded by the fanbs the Switch is a portable console although Nintendo promotes it primarily as a home console. Listen to their ads and statements.
However based on that advert the graphics look like crap for the worlds most powerful portable.
Hell, I have seen football on the iPad better looking than that. Everytime a game looks like crap fanbs say it is too early to judge yet I find that many months later the final results usually look the same. Let time tell.

I like that the Switch for what it is and what it isn't is a powerful powerful console compared to the opposition.

Games like FIFA will fail or succeed based on how successfully the portable element is embraced by the public.

EA+Nintendo+Sport = poor. That was the formula from the last two decades. Will it change now? We can hope.

Re: Interview: Greg Wohlwend on TumbleSeed and What Makes Nintendo Switch Special

Hotfusion

@peeks
Well that's the thing. While it is great to have these developers onboard the games that really matter to those who are not diehard fanboy are the AAAs.
Triple A games sell systems. Games like the one in this article don't sell systems, they just sell to some of those already with the system

The games that sells systems are the one's always on TV saying "available now on the PS4 and XboxOne"

By next year it will be great to hear "available now on the Nintendo Switch" on our TV screens. After blowing a few million on the Super Bowl ad it would be great to keep the system on the TV, like the other consoles.

However I insist on telling those who are willing to listen, please wait for E3.

E3 will give a far clearer perspective on the Switch's AAA 3rd party potential, one way or the other.

Re: Amazon UK Offers Nintendo Switch Downloads, Cost More Than Boxed Equivalents

Hotfusion

Downloads are for Virtual Console games, indie and shovelware.
IMO it would be silly to download a AAA title.

Any game I spend over £35 MUST be physical. It then belongs to me and I can do whatever I want with it.
I can lend it to relatives, sell it, etc.

This policy extends to music, films and ebooks where I set various maximum prices. Give me something tangible.
