Re: Talking Point: The Legend of Zelda on Wii U May Benefit From a Delay, But It Leaves a Blockbuster-Sized Gap

"Sorry, I'm still bitter Splatoon won't have voice chat. Such a Nintendo move..."

This is probably the one issue that will stop me from buying that game. Even playing MK8 without voice chat is horrible. How do I know I am playing against real people? They may as well all be bots as there is no ability to communicate with each other. It really detracts from the experience.

"Your statement is baseless, like all of your trolling. I love your avatars, which give no hints that you're a troll, either"

Says the guy whose username is a comic book superhero and who uses a photo of Larry David.

I thought a Seinfeld/Curb Your Enthusiasm fan would be more clever than to be the pot calling the kettle (Leon) black.

I wouldn't call their statements "trolls" either. They are just giving an opinion. If you haven't noticed, its probably a 50/50 split in terms of people who are upset about this situation and people who think its a good thing.

I remember some people thinking that Zelda was going to be released LAST Christmas...

@Peach64

Agreed on that quote. People who repeat that phrase ad nauseam have really drank the Nintendo Kool-Aid.

On that note, can we also retire the terms "evergreen", "fan service" and the newly created "pillar" from the Nintendo fan lexicon?

@Kifa

Xenoblade is a niche JRPG title that is a Nintendo exclusive, and only the second game in the series. It's not going to have the mass appeal to the general public as a Zelda game does. Most Zelda titles on Nintendo home consoles are usually some of the biggest and best games of each generation. The name "Zelda" has some pull for consumers, but Xenoblade does not. It's a certainty that game will sell far less than either Smash Bros and MK8, both of which were major reasons for people to pick up a Wii U in 2014 (and even then, they didn't boost the sales that much).

So far, Nintendo doesn't have a Smash Bros/MK8 quality release on the Wii U for 2015.

@vitalemrecords

Of course this hurts Nintendo. I'm sure there were people who planned on picking up a Wii U this Christmas to play this game, and now they won't be. From what we know so far, this game was the only "big" title coming out for the console this year/holiday season, and now it's not. What game can replace this on the release schedule? Nothing.

And before you go there, no, Xenoblade is not a big release for those outside of the hardcore Nintnendo fanbase.

@DESS-M-8

"haven't you wondered why nintendo first party schedule is slow?"

I know exactly why. Because they have limited resources, no third party support, and they single handily have to support both the Wii U and 3DS with somewhat constant releases. It's not easy to crank out games.

LOL @ thinking third party studios (which have abandoned Nintendo the past decade) are quietly busy working on titles for a console that might not even be released in 3 years, while completely ignoring current generation Nintendo hardware!!! Most ridiculous idea I have ever heard of!!!

I guess we will see PS4 releases taper off in the coming months as developers secretly start making games for the PS5!!

"I'm not arguing other games. Just Monster Hunter. And there is no comparable game, because Monster Hunter is so intense in battle you you're playing based on muscle memory. And for a fact I know I've played more than 99% of the people here. You can check the MH thread and see we just pulled a 10 hour hunt yesterday. I know the game like the back of my hand and no, one screen isn't enough for all the information you need to constantly reference"

@Gamer83

I too thought 3D World was overhyped and not nearly as good as people pretend it is. Other than a couple of tricky levels the game is basically a cake walk, and it has no soul. I beat it, made it to maybe the second secret world, then just set it aside. Eventually I sold it after a couple months.

I still play SMW, SMB 1-3, SM64 and Sunshine regularly (in that order), but 3D World was completely forgettable imo.

Re: Review: Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. (3DS)

HollywoodHogan

The number of similar comments here really shows the mentality of Nintendo console owners.

"The game itself doesn't really interest me but I will buy it anyway because it says Nintendo on the box"

Too bad this same thing doesn't happen when a third party title is released.

Re: Meme Run Disappears from the Wii U eShop

HollywoodHogan

@Einherjar

If there is a lot of money on the table from idiots looking to buy eShop games, your time is probably better spent making a game and getting some cash instead of complaining about a guy who did just that and made a decent haul from doing 'nothing'.

Re: Meme Run Disappears from the Wii U eShop

@Einherjar

"I just wished that the "buying it for the lolz rofl yolo" money went into my pockets instead though...
People can be so stupid sometimes...."

Then slap together an eShop game (since it's so easy!) and make some money from it instead of complaining from the sidelines about someone who accomplished something you don't have the guts to attempt.

Re: Study Finds That US Consumers Are Buying Wii U For Its Fun Factor And Kid-Friendly Nature

HollywoodHogan

For the Nintendo fanboys mocking the fact that people buy the Xbox based on brand recognition/reputation.....you realize that is what every single one of you do with Nintendo consoles and games too, right?

Nintendo announces a new game or hardware and instantly you guys want it because 'Nintendo made it and they make good things'. Why do you find it shocking or bad that other people have the exact same feelings as you do for a different system? Embarrassing.
