Re: Video: Star Fox Zero - What We Know So Far

@element187

Hideki Kamiya has nothing to do with this game. He is not working on it.

Hashimoto also addressed a commonly asked question: Is Platinum Games' Hideki Kamiya, a vocal Star Fox fan, involved in development of Star Fox Zero? No, he said, "not in any way shape or form." Kamiya's only input, Hashimoto said, is "Do your best."

From what we have seen so far, this game definitely lacks the artistic flair and frenetic action seen in other Platinum-made games. I think Platinum's contributions to the making of this game aren't very much.

Watching some of the Treehouse demo of this game and seeing how the guy playing spent most of the time looking down at the gamepad screen in his lap made me realize I don't want to play this.

I have a giant HD TV. That's what I want to concentrate on. Not a tiny SD screen.

I don't even think a pro controller would be an option because it appears the gamepad will be required for certain levels/ship forms.

@DESS-M-8

No one would pay $150 for that Rare game!

If it was released on Nintendo, even they wouldn't have been dumb enough to charge $59.99 for it! Would probably be the same price as Captain Toad or something.

Please, point me to a non-special edition of a video game that has EVER sold for $150 a copy, let alone one that is a compilation that features 30 year old games!

Third parties are gone from Nintendo. They aren't coming back.

Why would they waste their time developing for NX, a console with 0 owners, when by the time it comes out the PS4 will likely have 40+ million owners and the Xbox 20-25million or so?

Enjoy living in fantasy land!

Re: Rare Replay on Xbox One Will Include 30 Games, Including Classics from Nintendo Systems

HollywoodHogan

@DESS-M-8

Ok then.

E-mail Microsoft and then tell them that they should be charging $300 for this game and that they are making a horrible mistake! They should sell a boat load of copies at that price!

P.S., remember when you said this??

"I think the NX has been in development a lot longer than we think and companies like EA, ubisoft and square Enix have had development kits for the last two years. Development has been minimal on wii u as development budgets have been directed toward this console. Why would EA invest in fifa 16 on a console nintebdo have openly invested little in and been investing literally 100's of millions of £'s on a new developing console? If they've a budget to spend it will be on the emerging platform, not the place holder format."

Still LOL @ thinking EA, Ubisoft and SE are wasting any time developing titles for whatever the NX turns out to be!

According to you, EA hasn't released a single game on Wii U because they have been working on secret titles the last 3 years for the hardware coming AFTER the Wii U...yet they still manage to find the time to put out 10+ titles a year on the PS4 and Xbox One?!!

Hahaha pure gold!!

Re: Reaction: Nintendo's E3 Digital Event Brought Franchises We Wanted, But Not The Blockbusters

HollywoodHogan

The general online consensus is that this is one of the worst Nintendo E3's ever, and I would have to agree.

On another site I read a quote from Miyamoto saying that Nintendo prefers to use E3 to promote games that are close to release, which is why Zelda wasn't shown.

If that's true, how come the WiiU FE game and XC have been shown/promoted since pretty much the E3 where the Wii u debuted?

RC Pro-Am - I own this game, and personally playing it on an NES is the only way to fly. I also own that flying game from RARE as well. We would play that game like crazy. I mean Rareware made some nice hits on the NES. That is about it for there original-ism until Killer Instinct.
Perfect Dark - Again you really need to play this game on the N64. The N64 can only utilize the official controllers with the rumble feature as well as the storage card. Among the many unlockables featured in the game.
Only the N64 can utilize two controllers at one time. Two controllers that are shaped like guns, with indivisual rumble packs. OMGSH. Guess what??? That is not on X-bone.
Banjo-Kazooie in my opinion is really DKC but they dressed up as there own and left us with DK garbage. Rareware made the 3rd game for the X-box 360 and left us with garbage ( again ).
Conker's Bad Fur Day- Again can never get that same feeling on the N64. The X-box game was an dissapointing remake. While the X-box game did have an different setup and some extra parts it was just the same game with bad controls and an lame Call-Of-Duty.
Battletoads all I can say is that BT's had an hot female antagonist that was never utilized at all. Battletoads for the most part gave us the game teck see in DKC 1-3.
Rareware died when the company split after the leave from Nintendo. All of those hits are easy to purchase and find and come by for free as well.
If it is an download this is just pathetic and pointless to even buy this. Rareware under Microsoft control needs to just past away already. Until Rare just drops dead and gets sold to somebody else nothing good can come from them at all. Microsoft sale destroyed Rareware for life. Rareware story is probably even worst then the whole entire President Bush being elected caused 2001 to occur the way it did. They made the wrong choice.
Even so the same team that made perfect dark, along with Banjo all left the party at Rare. If anybody is left is more like an shell of the former company. I imagine the people at Rare right now are running back and forth naked, figuring out what to do.
Look at SEGA. SEGA released so much awesome follow ups to the original series. Why can't Rare be like that. Rare is like the unwanted foster child that never got any love or attention and went through a bad slave trade.
Sad part about Rareware is that they were living the dream we all have or had as game creators. Work with an famous Japanese company and get to make decision on products.
DKC would never exist without Rareware. Miyamoto even bashed Rareware games about the simplistic gameplay values. After that he used pre-rendering to make Yoshi-Story and did all kinds of things with the gameplay. I think that is where Rareware failed with DKC, and why DK64 is garbage. Because Nintendo wanted all kinds of gameplay values that was not featured on the SNES.
Another flame is about to be put out. Rareware has failed, long live Rareware.
Also the original X-box is garbage compared to an gamecube. I remember everybody calling the GCN an poor-mans system. But right now I could hook my GCN into an crappy flatscreen or 4K display and the damn thing still looks good and decent to play from the couch. If every Rareware game was made for the X-box was on the GCN it would have saved the company.
Right now people are playing GCN on the Wii and even Wii-U as I type this. That is how lame Rareware is for the move it made. X-box games have soo many glitches.

'Living life' would be getting out and having new experiences, traveling, meeting new people, socializing, hiking up a beautiful mountain, making art, doing something to improve the lives of others, etc.

The person you are describing, some mysteriously rich individual who stays in their room all day playing games, is the epitome of a colossal loser.

I really hope you aspire to be something better than that.

Re: Rare Replay on Xbox One Will Include 30 Games, Including Classics from Nintendo Systems

@Project_Dolphin

It doesn't have to be a massive hit though. Its a collection of (some) classic older games at a budget price, which in all likelihood didn't cost a whole lot of money to produce. Nowhere once did I say this would be a massive seller for Xbox One. It wouldn't be a massive seller on the Wii U either. All I stated is that there is certainly a market for this title on a Microsoft console.

Why are you comparing this to big budget new releases? I think you are very confused here.

@moomoo

Looking at @XCWarrior 's profile, it seems he owns/owned Sony, Microsoft AND Nintendo hardware...

Maybe people like him who have played a bunch of consoles (yet who also own an Xbox One) would be interested in this game?

But although he obviously has played multiple consoles, he can't wrap his head around the fact that maybe there are Xbox owners who have gasp done the same thing, who would be interested in buying this game collection!

"I watch EA, Ubi, and Microsoft partly to see what other people think is cool in the shooty/stabby genre, and because there's something wonderful at watching how cringeworthy their shows are. There is a certain schadenfreude in watching them talking about next gen tech when the monitors cut out.

E3 isn't just about games. It's about the ridiculousness of the games industry and how entertaining that is."

You obviously are not interested in the games they make, so no reason to ask other people to explain it to you.

Re: Here Are Your Eight Qualifying Nintendo World Championships 2015 Finalists

@Pahvi

I'm basing it on the fact that between at least the years 1987-2002, never once did the topic of "video games" come up in conversation with a female, while it was something that was discussed nearly all the time with every guy I knew.

Sure, there were girls who played games, but it was mainly an activity that appealed to boys. Much like running around and pretending to shoot each other with invisible guns on the schoolyard.

Though @manu0 would like us to believe that an equal (if not greater) number of girls were interested in shooting invisible guns at recess, but were sadly prevented from doing so by society

Re: Here Are Your Eight Qualifying Nintendo World Championships 2015 Finalists

HollywoodHogan

@manu0

"but the problem is that boys and girls are raised according to different standards"

And that is a problem? Are you upset your parents didn't buy you more Barbie dolls, put you in dresses, and let you wear lipstick? I'm sorry they limited you. If your niece feels she "doesn't have to be good at things" it sounds like she is receiving bad parenting. Don't place that blame on "society".

Some things girls like, guys don't like. Some things guys like, girls don't like.

There is no massive conspiracy or some radical societal change that needs to take place because of this however. Guys and girls are just wired differently and have different desires and interests (among other things).

8 dorky guys who play way too many video games won a competition. End of story.
