Re: Talking Point: Wii U Gamers Have Been Treated Poorly By The Third-Party Retail Scene, But The System Still Brings Joy

@readyletsgo

"We WiiU owners wanted the NEW games that were coming to the ps360 in 2012/13 not ports of old games with less content."

Why on earth would developers waste time or money developing titles for the Wii U, with its 5 million or so owners at that time, when they could make games for the 360 and PS3 who had a combined 160 million owners?

There's is no logical reason.

Especially when, as you said, many people already owned a PS3/360 anyway.

Ya I don't understand this guy either. I'd rather have a system with an over abundance of games, some of which I may not always want to play, rather than a console that only has one installment of a series and then leaves me hanging for 5-6 years before I can play another.

He also seems to consider each Nintendo 2D platformer which features a different main character (Kirby, yoshi, DK, Mario, Luigi, Rayman, etc) as a completely new and unique experience, while lumping together games like Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Batman and Gears of War as 'third person shooters' and dismissing them all as being the same kind of game..

People like this are unwilling to change their beliefs and don't even want to try playing different games, so there is no reason in engaging in a debate with them.

@Malakai

"Whats up with blaming the customers for the lack of sales. All that mean is the software isn't compelling in the first place..."

No, it just means that people who generally buy Nintendo consoles do not like the types of games that other developers produce. For example, see the post from the dude above my previous one. He only enjoys rainbow-colored games featuring children's cartoon characters and doesn't like anything else.

"As long as the big "AAA" publishers keep relying upon endless franchise entries and similarly-themed games I'm not buying their stuff"

I hope the irony doesn't escape you when you are playing the latest Star Fox game or the dozens of other retreads on Nintendo. Good lord...

There are great games available on all the consoles. I don't understand how someone's tastes can be so narrow as to only believe that Nintendo games are of any worth.

Re: First Impressions: Trying to Believe in Devil's Third

@VeeFlamesNL

The video I posted shows the framerate was running at 20fps during sea battles/sailing, which make up a large portion of the game. Sure it's still playable, but it is jarring and annoying (especially when many people on here mock PS4/Xbox games for sometimes being locked to 30fps).

Devils Third has slowdown as well apparently, but people seem unwilling to overlook this fact when it comes to this game though. The game still looks playable (frame rate wise at least) during those firefights which slow the action on screen though.

@kensredemption

That's not being very festive.

@TheRealThanos

Not true at all.

Many people have either fragments or entire bullets left in their bodies after getting shot. Sometimes removing them is more risky and can cause more damage than just leaving them in there. Ideally it's something that you would rather not have left in your body if you had the choice, but leaving them in, depending on the situation, isn't always a bad choice.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Won't Be As Powerful As PlayStation 4

HollywoodHogan

@Moshugan

"If Nintendo made a console that is as powerful as the other two, and gave it a regular gamepad, they would not succeed. People would have no reason to buy a Nintendo console over the more established competitors, save for a few Ninty exclusives."

Sorry, but the only reason 10 million people bought a Wii U is to PLAY NINTENDO GAMES. The games are selling people on the system, not the gimmicky and poorly implemented gamepad.

Other than the Wii, which was a flash in the pan global phenomenon (which has since passed), the only reason people buy a Nintendo-made console is for the first party offerings.

A powerful console that could potentially play the big third party titles (assuming they decided to return to Nintendo) AND first party exclusives could be very popular.

Re: The Man Who Found The SNES PlayStation Thinks It Will Probably Be Sold

HollywoodHogan

Why do people keep saying this belongs in a museum?? Who would care about it outside of video game fans?

"Honey, let's go see the dinosaurs, the Egyptian mummies, meteor fragments and the prototype Play Station at the Smithsonian this weekend"

Never mind the fact that everyone saying this, even if it was in a museum, would in all likelihood never get a chance to see it there anyway.

"most of which seem to have been a result of famed Belgian console modder Vadu Amka jokingly tweeting that she was responsible for creating the system"

She's nowhere near as famous as Aguilar Sanchez, the renowned Mexican console modder. I would even put her skills below those of Suliman Abdul Mohammed, the fantastic console modder from Sudan.

Re: Nintendo Reportedly Pitched NX To Third Parties During E3 2015

HollywoodHogan

@IceClimbers

How many dedicated home consoles are there?

Three.

Of those, which is the most powerful?

PS4.

When people say the PS4 (or Xbox) are the most powerful, they are only comparing those three consoles. No one believes any of those systems is more powerful than a PC, so you constantly bringing up that point is meaningless.

The PS4 IS the most powerful current home console. Deal with it. It is a fact.

Re: Nintendo Reportedly Pitched NX To Third Parties During E3 2015

HollywoodHogan

@Mona-Reggie

But when a new home console launches, they usually come at the end of another systems lifespan, with all the companies putting out new hardware within a year or so of each other.

Nintendo seemingly releasing a new console while their competitors machines haven't even peaked yet is a new scenario for them.

Re: Nintendo Reportedly Pitched NX To Third Parties During E3 2015

HollywoodHogan

This is how the conversation went...

Reggie - "So we realize that your games sell like crap on our consoles, we are coming off the massive flop known as the Wii U which has destroyed consumer confidence in our home console brand, and that when the NX comes out both the PS4/Xbox will have a combined 60-80 million owners and still be going strong.

However...we would like you to invest money and resources into producing games for our newest console which has no owners. What do you say?"

Third Parties - "I think we will take a pass"

Ya, lets not pretend that every time a new Nintendo game comes out that is being designed/produced by Miyamoto that this point isn't hammered into our brains in every article about it.
