While I feel like the game isn't that technically impressive that it shouldn't be able to hit 60 fps I have to be honest: I find the debate around the topic a bit silly.
Not too long ago 30 fps was the normal way of console gaming, now you got tons of people in boards complaining how 30 fps is unplayable and looks horrible.
But maybe my eyes are just getting old...I also can't tell the difference between 4k and 8k to be honest.
No. I was curious but the videos I have seen didn't really impress me. Looked a bit unchallenging and gimmicky. Not much time for games anyhow at the moment so probably for the better.
Wow...those were a lot of mobile titles. Z-A might be interesting even if they pretty much just confirmed it existed. Not really interested in any of the mobile stuff but I guess my wife will catch the Captain Pikachu on Go at some point.
@Lightsiyd
In all fairness to Team Ninja...MOM was 95% Sakamotos fault. He wrote the story and characters, directed the dub to be as monotone as possible, made the decision to ignore the nunchuck and stuffed the game full with SM nostalgia-bait. If anything TN did an impressive job to make the game still kinda fun if you don't abuse the heal and skip all the cutscenes, pretending you play just a random action game and don't try to explore
Well, probably not a popular opinion but I hope everyone who bought COD is happy with their purchase. I haven't bought a Call of Duty game since the original MW1 (which was amazing to be fair) but I have a few friends who love the franchise. And honestly...I am happy for them. Also: Seeing Minecraft in the Top 10 is really making me feel old...
Gonna be pretty interesting.
I never really pulled my switch out of the dock so I don't really care much for the portability aspect but the system was such a massive success that it seems unlikely that Nintento is going to switch gears.
I think 1440p after DLSS is a reasonable target output with 4K upscaling costing too much performance.
Nintendo found a pretty comfortable spot lagging roughly one generation behind MS and Sony in processing power which seems kinda smart looking at the exploding development costs of UHD-blockbusters right now.
Apart from the raw power though I am curious about the type of hardware innovation Nintendo is going to bring to the table. Pretty hard to believe that they'll be going with a straigh Switch 2 after going GC -> Wii -> WiiU -> Switch, pretty much always shaking up their entire design.
Honestly though...I think more than the hardware the launch titles are going to matter. If I take one thing from the WiiU-failure and Switch-success it's that launch titles are incredibly important to gain initial traction.
And I hope that Nintento worked together with Epic because you can already see that UE5 is going to be go-to engine for this generation these next years.
Would be cool if porting would be easy even if at obviously much reduced fidelity.
Oh...and please: Quick resume! If there is one thing I never want to miss from my Xbox its to instantly jump into my last gaming session.
Well...I guess Konami never changes, right? At least it's not a Pachinko machine...
We'll see how it sells though. I have seen lots of fans defending it saying that missing AA adds to the atmosphere and what not. So maybe people will buy it anyway.
Aria of Sorrow (and it's DS- sequel) are still awesome. Circle of the Moon and Harmony of Dissonance feel much worse in comparison though (or it's just because I played them in the wrong order) Not sure if the collection is worth it for a (brilliant) game that I have played multiple times already.
@JustMonika AI was such a pleasant surprise. Picked it up by chance (and because I like detective mysteries) and loved the story, characters and world. Haven't gotten around to the second one but I am sure I'll pick it up eventually.
@Chibi_Manny The Legend of Korra game from Platinum was okay. Nothing groundbreaking (especially considering the developer) but okay action. I was always hoping for some big sandbox Avatar/Korra game. Creating my own bender, learning the different styles and visiting all the awesome locations from the shows. But I guess this is as good as it's gonna get.
@ArcticEcho I really don't know why you are trying to sell it to me. I am happy that you like it...but for me it's just cringy. Tastes are just different.
@ArcticEcho I mean...I got nothing against Vocaloid...but calling it the only unique and interesting music genre is a bit....much. Have fun if you like it but don't oversell it. It's a brand with cute anime characters and some light pop songs.
Sounds like a game that's at it's best if you have played the original and feel the nostalgia. Since I haven't played the original the review sounded more negative than positive to be honest. Gonna skip this one.
@Duncanballs I find that very unlikely. Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo all have a much bigger arm in terms of active franchises at this point and a huge lead in hardware and software design. Sega has Sonic, Yakuza...and then a pretty major gap until...Megami Tensei? Virtua Fighter?
I don't really see where Sega would fit into the market or how they could become a relevant hardware manufacturer.
It's strange...I loved BOTW but I really don't get excited about this. Not even really sure what it is. Maybe I am burned out with open world. Just not really feeling any hype.
I love the series....but not sure I get the idea of a remastered fighting game. Not like I play them for the story anyway. Having said that: SC2 on GameCube has a lot of nostalgic value for me.
Honestly...who buys this? The only reason I could think is if you have to play it on the go. Otherwise there are so many better, chapter alternatives available. Also, I agree that the game hasn't aged that gracefully.
I'd probably go with the Prime games. It really felt like the suit someone exploring hostile worlds would wear, weighty and almost tanklike at times. But also slick and recognizable.
Gave it a lot of personality.
Other M probably the least. That game was just so stuck in the past trying to recapture the feeling of Super Metroid that it just came off as weird and non-cohesive to me.
Fusion is cool but I think they didn't went far enough with the theme. It looks more like Samus tried squeezing into a baby-blue, stretchy jumpsuit that ripped.
I also really like both of the Return suits. Maybe I just dig the shoulder pads...
Not the biggest fan of the Dread look to be honest. I think getting completely rid of the yellow and orange lost some recognizability for me and made it look a bit...bland.
It also kinda has the Square-Enix-Batman problem of too much stuff going on making it look somewhat all over the place with no real standout recognizable feature.
Well, opinions have been pretty split on this entry so I am not surprised that it's at least somewhat struggling saleswise. I hope it sells enough for Nintendo to keep going with the series.
@Kiz3000 Fair points (+ no data about digital sales). I was just a bit confused why the sales numbers were celebrated that much when it's typically a pretty bad sign for a publisher if a game sells less than its predecessor.
@Ellie02 that's a weird take. It's like saying exploding things were always in Zelda so of course all weapons explode. Trying to play through OoT fights with just deku sticks sounds like a horrible experience. And the Giants knife is more like a joke weapon than anything else.
Same system but with lots of tweaking. I can see what they were going for and on one hand I did switch out weapons more often and didn't stick to a single powerful weapon, ignoring all the loot.
On the other hand though none of the weapons (with one exception) felt special in any way.
In Witcher 3 I remember using one specific sword even after finding a better one because the story behind it and the way I got it was so cool (plus it looked cool).
In BotW every Sword felt more like a round of amunition: Useful but not really meaningful in any way.
Also...going through multiple weapons in a single fight was kind of ridiculous.
I literally disagree with pretty much everything...people have different tastes. Far Cry can still be a lot of fun, Shadow of War completely lost me and Immortals: Fenyx Rising was one of my favorite games last gen. I also don't really see how MGS5 fits as a competitor...
I played it on a whim and had a lot of fun with it. Was a bit worried about the furry look at first but the story and characters were well worth the ride.

Why not make it more themed? Have gym leaders with big or small pokémon. Or cute, scary, manly, dangerous ones that doesn't lock them into a certain type.
@Nua I get that...but it's such a dumb part. There are much better ways to teach people type advantages. And it's just really unfun to walk through the gym leaders. Especially when they are hyped up throughout their city and region as this top-trainer...and then you beat them with one Pokemon/Attack.
Are there really any fans around who prefer them like this? I am genuinly curious, I just don't get the appeal at all.
I don't mind her design...but I hate that they are still doing the type-gym-leaders. It's so easy and unchallenging to roll over them with a single type advantage. Why not make (more) themed gym leaders? Or just...gym leaders with a balanced team?

Re: Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time Remake Dev Update Shared In New "Exclusive"
A bit worried about the rewrite...
The original had such a great script...I am very afraid that this is getting the new Ubisoft Whedon-Writing.
Re: UK Charts: Princess Peach Continues To Slip As EA Sports FC 24 Scores Yet Another Win
Prince of Persia seems pretty stable.
Which is good cause I loved the game!
Great plattforming, fun boss fights, nice exploration...strange story.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Princess Peach: Showtime! For Switch?
No. I was curious but the videos I have seen didn't really impress me. Looked a bit unchallenging and gimmicky.

Reviews are kinda mid so I think I'll pass.
Tons of party games already on the Switch...we'll probably stick with Mario Kart and Smash.

Yeah..drawing those seals was really gimmicky.

Mario Kart, Minecraft and GTA. At that point it feels like everyone and their grandmothers pet would have a copy of these games.
