Re: Bayonetta Origins Director Empathises With Paper Mario Dev, Suggests Reasons For 30FPS

HalloHerrNoob

While I feel like the game isn't that technically impressive that it shouldn't be able to hit 60 fps I have to be honest: I find the debate around the topic a bit silly.

Not too long ago 30 fps was the normal way of console gaming, now you got tons of people in boards complaining how 30 fps is unplayable and looks horrible.

But maybe my eyes are just getting old...I also can't tell the difference between 4k and 8k to be honest.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Hopes To Return To The Video Game Industry In 2024

HalloHerrNoob

@Lightsiyd
In all fairness to Team Ninja...MOM was 95% Sakamotos fault. He wrote the story and characters, directed the dub to be as monotone as possible, made the decision to ignore the nunchuck and stuffed the game full with SM nostalgia-bait. If anything TN did an impressive job to make the game still kinda fun if you don't abuse the heal and skip all the cutscenes, pretending you play just a random action game and don't try to explore

Sorry...that game just always triggers me.

Re: UK Charts: Mario Wonder Takes Bronze As Call Of Duty Makes Its Mark

HalloHerrNoob

Well, probably not a popular opinion but I hope everyone who bought COD is happy with their purchase.
I haven't bought a Call of Duty game since the original MW1 (which was amazing to be fair) but I have a few friends who love the franchise. And honestly...I am happy for them.
Also: Seeing Minecraft in the Top 10 is really making me feel old...

Re: Digital Foundry Digs Into The Nvidia Chip Rumoured To Power 'Switch 2'

HalloHerrNoob

Gonna be pretty interesting.
I never really pulled my switch out of the dock so I don't really care much for the portability aspect but the system was such a massive success that it seems unlikely that Nintento is going to switch gears.

I think 1440p after DLSS is a reasonable target output with 4K upscaling costing too much performance.
Nintendo found a pretty comfortable spot lagging roughly one generation behind MS and Sony in processing power which seems kinda smart looking at the exploding development costs of UHD-blockbusters right now.

Apart from the raw power though I am curious about the type of hardware innovation Nintendo is going to bring to the table. Pretty hard to believe that they'll be going with a straigh Switch 2 after going GC -> Wii -> WiiU -> Switch, pretty much always shaking up their entire design.

Honestly though...I think more than the hardware the launch titles are going to matter. If I take one thing from the WiiU-failure and Switch-success it's that launch titles are incredibly important to gain initial traction.
And I hope that Nintento worked together with Epic because you can already see that UE5 is going to be go-to engine for this generation these next years.
Would be cool if porting would be easy even if at obviously much reduced fidelity.

Oh...and please: Quick resume! If there is one thing I never want to miss from my Xbox its to instantly jump into my last gaming session.

Re: It's Official, SEGA Is Buying Angry Birds Maker, Rovio

HalloHerrNoob

@Duncanballs
I find that very unlikely.
Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo all have a much bigger arm in terms of active franchises at this point and a huge lead in hardware and software design.
Sega has Sonic, Yakuza...and then a pretty major gap until...Megami Tensei? Virtua Fighter?

I don't really see where Sega would fit into the market or how they could become a relevant hardware manufacturer.

Re: Feature: Samus' Suits, Ranked - Every Metroid Box Art Suit Design, From Worst To Best

HalloHerrNoob

I'd probably go with the Prime games. It really felt like the suit someone exploring hostile worlds would wear, weighty and almost tanklike at times. But also slick and recognizable.
Gave it a lot of personality.

Other M probably the least. That game was just so stuck in the past trying to recapture the feeling of Super Metroid that it just came off as weird and non-cohesive to me.

Fusion is cool but I think they didn't went far enough with the theme. It looks more like Samus tried squeezing into a baby-blue, stretchy jumpsuit that ripped.

I also really like both of the Return suits. Maybe I just dig the shoulder pads...

Not the biggest fan of the Dread look to be honest. I think getting completely rid of the yellow and orange lost some recognizability for me and made it look a bit...bland.
It also kinda has the Square-Enix-Batman problem of too much stuff going on making it look somewhat all over the place with no real standout recognizable feature.

Re: Poll: Do You Want Weapon Degradation To Return In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

HalloHerrNoob

Same system but with lots of tweaking. I can see what they were going for and on one hand I did switch out weapons more often and didn't stick to a single powerful weapon, ignoring all the loot.
On the other hand though none of the weapons (with one exception) felt special in any way.
In Witcher 3 I remember using one specific sword even after finding a better one because the story behind it and the way I got it was so cool (plus it looked cool).
In BotW every Sword felt more like a round of amunition: Useful but not really meaningful in any way.
Also...going through multiple weapons in a single fight was kind of ridiculous.

Re: Ubisoft Share Price Tumbles After Dire Sales Report

HalloHerrNoob

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika

I literally disagree with pretty much everything...people have different tastes.
Far Cry can still be a lot of fun, Shadow of War completely lost me and Immortals: Fenyx Rising was one of my favorite games last gen.
I also don't really see how MGS5 fits as a competitor...

Re: Meet Iono, The Electric-Type Gym Leader From Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

HalloHerrNoob

@SakuraHaruka
No worries, maybe I misunderstood you. I certainly don't mind people having different opinions on this matter.
It's just a topic that bothers me with every new game in the series so I might get a bit worked up about it. Certainly meant no personal offense though.
Maybe one day they will add a difficulty option and we can all be happy at the same time.

Re: Meet Iono, The Electric-Type Gym Leader From Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

HalloHerrNoob

@SakuraHaruka
What kind of response is that?
Why am I disrespectful and intolerant because I said I don't like a certain feature?
It's just my personal opinion and I am not attacking anyone for liking it.
I just don't get who this is for and, in all honesty, "They have always dont it this way" isn't really a good reason in my opinion.
And I really don't believe that children need this kind of auto-win.

Why not make it more themed?
Have gym leaders with big or small pokémon. Or cute, scary, manly, dangerous ones that doesn't lock them into a certain type.

Re: Meet Iono, The Electric-Type Gym Leader From Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

HalloHerrNoob

@Nua
I get that...but it's such a dumb part.
There are much better ways to teach people type advantages.
And it's just really unfun to walk through the gym leaders.
Especially when they are hyped up throughout their city and region as this top-trainer...and then you beat them with one Pokemon/Attack.

Are there really any fans around who prefer them like this? I am genuinly curious, I just don't get the appeal at all.

Re: Soapbox: Endless Zelda Remakes Are A Poor Substitute For Backwards Compatibility

HalloHerrNoob

Jeez...reading this comment section is depressing.
Lots of whining about an article that dared to criticize Nintendo in any way.
I love Wind Waker, one of my favorite games of all time...but I see absolutely no need to rebuy it (also, I did not mind the Triforce quest to be honest and kinda prefer the original art style).

If you want to buy the remake, that's great...but don't start hating on someone who has another opinion just because you think Nintendo is your buddy and you have to defend him.
That just makes you look like a cringy fanboy.
