Re: SEGA Knows Fans Want Sonic Adventure 3

H1B1Esquire

"So I don’t want to do an Adventure 3 and step the franchise back just to give the fans what they want."
Translation: I want to create a game that will waste many resources. I want a game that finally puts a nail in the coffin for that darn Sonic.

"From the developer standpoint, every Sonic game that we’re making is taking new steps and advances, furthering the game in a new direction, and that’s dictated where the Sonic series has been going.
If we can get the gameplay to evolve and get to a place where Adventure 3 makes sense, then you might see an Adventure 3 come out. But we don’t want to take the entire series back to where it was just to make people happy. We want to advance the idea of what a Sonic game is."
Translation: Sonic '06 was amazing; we thought it was the best, better than Adventure. '06 was the direction we needed the series to go and we also decided Unleashed and the "stories" were amazing--an amazing direction to head in. Now, we plan on making Forces in the same category. Downward at the speed of sound is the direction, baby!"

Seriously, there's so much history to work with, it's BEYOND stupid to make these whiny complaints.
A twisted analogy-quote-translation of Iizuka’s "dilemma":
"When I drive to a location and make a wrong turn, I just keep going. I'll drive off a cliff. I'll drive through the ocean. I'll even drive into oncoming traffic just to say, "This is what I wanted to do and I did it." Yes, I know I could go back and get directions to the destination, but that's not as good as wasting a small fortune on gasoline and adding mileage to my vehicle to help destroy it faster. One day, I plan to sell the car to a better driver, but not before I fart all over the seat, drop fries in the crevices, and leave my marks of idiocy all over the automobile. SEGA Forever!"

@thesilverbrick

You'll come back. I've seen a lot of people say, "I'm done with 3DS, Vita master race!", but they come back. I find Nintendo always has that one game at the very end of a life cycle that people adore.

You might even find a new wealth in playing 3DS RPGs while you wait for other titles on Switch.

Either way, maybe I'll see you in Us/Um.

Re: Natsume Has a New Sale Available on the eShop

Odd that Alphadia on Wii U gets a discount and not 3DS. I actually like the Wii U version.

When you think about it, most of this sale is odd--some games should be listed, some games should be discounted further, and how long is this sale, anyway? Would help to know to plan.

With my Eagle eye, I see what you did there ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). The writing was a hole-in-one. You've got balls to keep your puns fair and of course, are on par with a joke Masters club.

I'll go to the bunker with my sandwich.

Re: Here, Have A Generous Helping Of Pokémon Ultra Sun And Ultra Moon News

@KTT

When you look for a trade or battle, there's a list of people and a message informing you of what they're doing, such as, "on GTS", "in a battle", Wonder Trading" and it's silly to even show them on your list, because they most likely won't get your request.

I don't notice too much lag during doubles, but I'm usually playing BR. I wouldn't even mind custom battles, where you could choose your own restrictions, such as, only allowing pre-evo's, no held items, only mono-type, single-Pokemon battles (using one of your six and choosing the best option for countering your opponent), mixing-and-matching rule sets over the limited "set all to 50", "Special Pokemon banned" (which is still in serious need of repair), etc,.

I guess Switch may bring one or some of these things, but I'd like to hope an update patch could bring these things to US/UM.

GF needs to fix their game. Fes Plaza was crap--we need the P.S.S. or a revision of it. If anything, put Fes Plaza on the pelago. Oh, and fix that "special Pokemon banned" filter--UB's, Tapu's, and Mythical's seem a little more special than a Battle Bond Greninja. Maybe they could throw in a way to skip the Z-move "movie" or just have a mode that blocks it all together?

And I guess, more battle modes...or give us triples, rotation, and completely new battle styles.

Re: Review: Monster Hunter Stories (3DS)

H1B1Esquire

MHS is different, no doubts about it. It's like the difference between Pokemon mainline RPGs and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. When you get over that, you realize there's some familiarity, but more "story", as the title suggests.

Try the demo if you're not sure about buying MHS--you might be surprised by how the battles play out, the stereoscopic majesty, how the riding, egg hatching, and channeling (not be available in the demo) systems work, as well as the crafting you'd expect from the MH universe in general.

Re: The Latest Game From The Stamper Brothers Feels Like A Donkey Kong Country Sequel

I can see this failing miserably on Switch. The game play should have just been another tried-and-true platformer and that would have been enough to make a splash.

A few good ideas: taking the "O.C." and adding a few more "O.C.'s" in the same "realm", play-styles that "Switch" with characters, getting a good, underground team to do the music, tight controls, and a mildly-interesting story to keep motivation balanced between "Why?" and "Woo!".

Re: The Mega Man Movie Has Begun the Early Stages of Production

H1B1Esquire

I'm already seeing the new Michael Bay being born. I'm also seeing "Massive crap on Mega Man franchise."

Doing a CG movie will be taking the Pac-Man route. Doing a classic animated movie will be marred with terrible pop culture jokes. Worst of all, there haven't been any new, decent Mega Man games in a few years, so 10 year-old kids should not be the target audience. This movie will definitely have a negative impact on MM.

They should have just put the money into doing a good game or getting the ability to make Mega Man Maker HD on consoles and then, taking the money generated to do the writing for MML3.

Hope for the best; prepare for a stinking turd.
