@B_Lindz You could learn unity alongside another engine and make your career converting games but I know from experience how hard learning one is.

@Sisilly_G Wouldn't be the first time that a game that didn't need a full remake got one. Though I don't think Game Freak has the same remake philosophy as Naughty Dog.

@Carck Not the money from Fifa themselves, the money they get from the branding recognition. I do wonder if it'll hurt things with people who only buy Fifa and Call of Duty missing that EA Football is the same thing.

I remember back in my youth, they were two separate companies, or at least two different brandings. Heck, there was even 3 at one time: EA Games, EA Sports and EA Sports BIG (for their motor sports games)

I see where they're coming from but it doesn't remind me of Bob-Bomb Battlefield so much as it reminds me of the terrible hills that would surround racing games of the same time period to force you back to the track.

I'd be down for it.

Take the characters and storystyle and match it up with modern Adventure Game sensibilities (by which I mean less puzzles that obtuse for obtuse's sake) and I think we'll have a winner.

Only question is what to call it? Do they keep the Famicom name out of legacy?

@CEObrainz It's not easy to completely rework visuals but there's a lot wrong with the statement. The implication that people with something they can't help being unable to play the game is being treated the same way that a minor bug is with a "it'll be done when it's done, shut up" attitude certainly doesn't endear the devs.

Not to mention that it's usually best practice these days to keep color blindness in mind when designing the game in the first place.

And this is why boilerplate responses from PR exist. To avoid people putting their feet in their mouth like this.

Hey! Pikmin's at the bottom which is no surprise to me. Nintendo put too many 2D platformers on the 3DS so I don't know what they were thinking by having an RTS become one. See also, Chibi-Robo Ziplash

It's one of those games that looks like it started as a mobile game and got expanded for consoles.
If it is I hope they change those stupid chunky menus that are great for touch screens but look horrible on the big screen.

@AxeltheBuizel Because Smash style gameplay has broader appeal and, more cynically involves smaller characters so things don't need to be as detailed.

Those extras sound cool but not more-than-double-the-price cool. For that you'd normally get a soundtrack, a metal case and a statuette that always looks better in the promotional shots than in person.

I'd have hoped that someone caught on to that earlier on in development but it's an indie game, they wouldn't have the luxury of extra proof-readers.

Nintendo's blessing and curse is that it has to do things differently. Sometimes that gives us things like the Switch and Splatoon, other times it gives us Zip-Lash and a racing game in selfie orientation.

For the game itself, I see it as a "heart in the right place, brain in a storage cupboard" kind of execution. It gives me the same uncomfortable feelings as when one of the Tomb Raider reboot devs said that their intention was to make you feel like you had to protect Lara.

Either this is a mobile game that's been in development a while or a console release that they've fast tracked upon seeing people will still pay for Monkeys/small rodents in Gachapon capsules.

If a mobile game, then at least let it be a mobile version of Monkey Ball and not a peggle clone.

@Balta666 In this case it means that it was built using the overworld half of an RPG making program of some kind, leaving the combat mechanics out.

Lot of interesting games have been made that way but it seems like a marketing mistake to draw attention to it.

@Sinister IGDA is all about easy gains. Don't exactly know what they mean by "diverse" though. That's one of many words that have lost all meaning lately.

Mortal Kombat did have a child friendly kartoon back in the day and Kano in all but name kameod in Wreck-it-Ralph. It's not like their mere presence would have changed much.

I think there's no problem with adding Lego Mortal Kombat. The problem is how the thing is set up. They'd needed to include a port of the original game.

I'm imagining Sub-Zero Ripping off Scorpion's head in Lego form and then we see the after match where they just plonk it back on.

Had me until it needed Facebook and Twitter. Screws over those of us that have few friends living close by and use other social networks.
