I think the problem is parents are too content to just give their kids a phone and call it good. Kids need to be taught the joys of local multiplayer where if that kid called your mother horrible things she'd take him out by the ear and make him repeat what he said with his parents present.

I'm hopeful for the future. (Of games that is, otherwise the Ukraine situation has got me worried for a COD MW live action reenactment)

@AJWolfTill As long as it has less bugs than Lego Marvel WiiU, I'm buying. It's worth the WiiU version just to not have that stupid rotating split screen.

I wonder what the XBONE launch will be like in Japan. Launching it out a catapult on the hopes that someone will take it home? I kid, but it seems that consoles are no longer the day one purchases they were in the past.

Interesting to see many smaller studios work on the WiiU when the bigger studios are jumping ship.

I guess they're at the the point when a million potential customers isn't a loss investment.

Making Wii Sports and Wii Fit their experimental pricing games was a stupid move as it means there's no physical disk in the stores reminding people there's an HD Wii sports. People but the new Fifa game and all it has different is a number has gone up by one.

@cookiex The problem is all the stores in my area sell ones that only have one cable. I'll probably need to buy second hand.

I;m sticking to disk for the most part. Partially because the one time I did the game took up a large chunk of the WiiU's data. I tried buying an external hard drive but for whatever reason it only works with a powered one. Nintendo needs to fix that If I'm ever to download retail games.

No wonder the character is so useless in the Mappy webseries.

I'm still hopeful for a turnaround but at this point I'd take the WiiU surviving until Smash 4 is made as the goal.

I may be wrong but weren't the Donkey Kong Country games more popular in the west?

Oh don't worry, I'm blaming Nintendo plenty for making their WiiU casual games so overly novel to access (I still don't understand how to purchase Wii Fit U) and not making it clear the WiiU was a different console.

Why does almost every sales article on this site have a negative tone to it? I understand the sales actually aren't too great but it gets tired. Even something like "Donkey Kong country Tropical Freeze number 2 in Japanese charts but fails to impact WiiU sales."?

Smartphone games will always have one major problem, you have to put your greasy fingers in front of the action almost constantly. plus the 3DS and Vita doesn't get nearly as hot when handling anything more complex than a webpage.

I wonder what the profit margins are on eShop sales for Nintendo and the Devs. Must be handsome for Nintendo's retail games as they charge full price and don't have to worry about shipping and distribution.

One thing Nintendo can do and it's a bit stupid that they're not is to convert more NES and SNES games to WiiU Virtual Console. And get started on Nintendo 64 ones. I'm sure a lotta current owners would willingly pay for save state enabled old games. I wonder how long the process takes in man- hours...

Seems odd that Namco would pull out of Nintendo entirley when the 3DS is still selling well. I guess investors and stockholders are the same whiny people posting NINTENDO IS DOOMED comments.

For people wondering about the logic, there are a lot of people who like downloadable games but hate storing their credit card info on the console. After the PS3 hack fiasco it's not hard to see why.

Call isn't playable in all stages I'm afraid but she's the player two in the Co-op mode and has her own solo section. I think that's pretty damn good and part of the reason people are reacting so bad. Sort of a "is nothing ever good enough for you"? thing.

I just hope this blows over.

It think it's been taken too far but I don't think people are mad just because she's a feminist.

When you consider that one of the goals that people paid for was to have a female playable character it feels a bit out of place to say that the protagonist should also be female.

I think the community is making an arse of itself but it's not misogyny out of thin air alone.

Looks cool but I can't help but think It would've made a lotta MM fans rage had it come out. Looks a bit too Act Zero for comfort.

Still, when Capcom wants Megaman dead as it seems these days, this would've been welcome.

I think the problem is the sales target are WAY too bloated. EA wanted Dead Space 3 to sell more that Dead space 1 and 2 combined. I think they need to dial back on the "throw money at it and make it the same" strategy. No wonder indie games are increasingly becoming the focus.

Just as well. I played the PC version of the original and the characters had no depth beyond whiny intro narrations and the level system was a pointless war of attrition.

Not to say I didn't have some fun with it but Left 4 Dead was vastly superior.

I started a project on Lego Cuusoo to get Lego F-Zero made but it's not getting many supporters.
