@RyanSilberman ... and I am saying that 3DS is incapable of handling good graphics and high speed simultaneously. Sonic Generations in 3DS does not look that good either.
The only major thing he does not like is how generic the graphic looks. Well, no one would expect it to look as good as Mario 3D Land because of the hardware limitation of handheld 3DS in handling fast graphics (just look at how Sonic Transformed chocked in its graphics).
IGN gave the game much better review. In addition, metacritic gave the game close to 7:
'While Fire and Ice’s art direction and music are woefully generic, the well-constructed level layouts create a solid arcade-style experience that accomplishes a sense of extraordinary speed while accommodating a reasonable degree of control.'
@GoatWrench Region lock is what Nintendo likes to do. Given the low exchange rate of yen, I think Nintendo will enforce region lock so that they can charge more for games in America.
It is embarrassing that indie games are keeping Wii U alive. Star fox flops so badly, and I cannot think of an upcoming Wii U game that I am looking forward to this year.
Now I think about it, the only fun factor of Final Fight is the big characters. Other than that any of the games in the series is more boring than any of the games in the Street of Rage series.
@Petey4Smash Well, I found those top Mario Maker levels are better than Mario U. Those were more creative. Mario U suffer from two problems: (1) too easy, and (2) very bland and too similar to previous entries.
@Jamotello I actually do not like Galaxy as much as some people do. Not a bad game, but not a mind-blowing platformer either. Perhaps Mario 3 is actually better.
Metriod Other M is actually a better platformer to me.
I reckon that this game is better than New Super Mario Bros U (which is crap). If Nintendo does not have novel ideas they should not even bother to make a new Mario game. (Not to mention Ultra Smash and the uninspired. Mario Party)
I am going to waste all my Nintendo silver coins - there is nothing to buy for Wii U, while there are more to buy for 3DS. Unfortunately, I ONLY HAVE A WII U.
Actually, I like another Sega puzzle game, Baku Baku, even more. Baku Baku is easier than Puyo Puyo - it is much easier to make combos in Baku Baku. Puyo Puyo is often mind-teasing.
When is the Tetris vs. Puyo Puyo coming to the West?
Wii U is one of the worst Nintendo consoles... I don't want to bash Nintendo but Nintendo has almost given up Wii U. I did not have a Wii and so I probably have more fun than most gamers as I could played some Wii games. However, I am actually bored by it now. I played more games on my PC than on my Wii U.
Wii U has been on life support by indie games and virtual console. I hope that NX does fare better, but I do feel that Nintendo has been unfair to early adoptors of Wii U - they have paid a lot but get relatively little for their money.
@samuelvictor Agreed. Mario Kart 8 plays like a lucky draw - whether you win depends a lot on what items you draw. I want a game with more skills involved.
The atmostphere in the first game was excellent. The puzzles are at times genius and the ending is shocking. It is a bit short, but I rather play a good short game than a bad tedious game.
At least, the game is better than Game and Wario and Mario Party 10.
@Yosher I hear what you say, but Nintendo is not giving development kit to the indie developers. Honestly, without indie games on Wii U, the console is pretty much dead. I am very surprised by the quality of indie games on Wii U. Hopefully, Nintendo can providing enough support to NX before indie games come in. Else, NX will get drought such as Wii U does.
The Fall was such a good game. It features some insanely surprising puzzle solutions and most importantly, shocking ending. Definitely going to pick up the sequel.
Sonic Lost World is one of the most divisive games in sonic history, just like the new Star Fox. Famitsu loves the game, and so does some regions in IGN (e.g., Italy). In contrast, others do not like it (e.g., Nintendolife). It is mainly due to its deep learning curve and difficulty. Gamers who like it loves it and others hate it.
I actually think that the game is much better than Sonic Adventure, because the former has much tighter control of sonic. In fact, I agree that the control violates common sense a bit (after running fast, the momentum suddenly losts while jumping). But, I don't think that Sega can make the next sonic game using the template of Sonic Lost World, although it may borrow some elements from it.
The only real reason of delaying the game, I believe, was to accommodate Nintendo NX. He can say a lot of reasons to explain why the game was delayed for Wii U gamers. But commercially, delaying the game until the inception of a new console cycle for Nintendo is a profitable strategic move.
On the other hand, stop talking about the game but actually delivering it. The new Zelda has been talked for years but no one has ever seen the actual delivery of the product. I hate it when Nintendo does this. It is almost as if they are deciding to abandon Wii U - just look at the games in 3DS vis-a-vis Wii U.
My first ever video console system was actually Famicom with Disk System. I remembered that it suffered from no good games. Contra and Dragon Ball Z, for example, was never in disk form. Nintendo cartridge, imported from Japan, cost like 50 to 80 US at that time. Shortly afterwards, I purchased a system with cheaper cartridge, Mega Drive. Each game cost like 30 to 40. I remembered getting phantasm star 4 for 30 bucks.
@Krisi Since you like Earthbound series very much, have you tried Undertale? It was a RPG that based heavily on Earthbound, but also add in an element of acting on an enemies during battles. You can talk, carass, imitate or act in a variety of ways to an enemy, in addition to fighting it. Some gamers like to fight an enemy, while others may prefer end a battle peacefully using those non-violent actions. Different enemies require different actions. Depending on your decision on how to deal with battles, the story will be different. The game plays very much like Earthbound with quirky dialog, but it also has those twists in the story. The music is excellent also.
@Krisi The problem with Earthbound Beginning was that in an interview, Nintendo admitted that they rushed the game and so they did not even have the time to check the balance at the end of the game. To this end the game was actually not fully finished. There are a LOT of one-hit death at the end of the game, and this has nothing to do with being a game in 80s.
I hope that Nintendo stops talking about the new Zelda for years without actually delivering it. Anyone tired of hearing it but never actually getting to play it?
I found Darksider 2 a very confusing game, with a story that I cannot easily understand (those characters riddles all the time) and dungeons so large that it takes forever to finish (probably needs a walkthrough).
I just purchased earthbound beginning, without discount.
I finished it, and found the game very repetitive that requires exorbitant amount of grinding. Dialog in the english version is not very funny either. It does, however, has some quirkiness, but not as good as Earthbound. Not recommended.
Xbox and PS just have much better rewards - an annual membership fee of $30-$40 (equivalent to less than the price of one Nintendo game) give you free games every month.

Re: Review: Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice (3DS)
Jared Petty is a very experienced game reviewer in IGN and he gives the game a rating of 7.5. What he said is very trustworthy:

Look better than New Super Mario Brothers U.
Re: Preview: Taking the Temperature of Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice
@PanzerNomad I also like Sonic Boom character design.
Re: A Samus Costume Was Almost in the Wii U Axiom Verge Port
@FluttershyGuy The current state of Wii U (i.e., having no support from Nintendo) also makes me cry as well.

@Petey4Smash Yes, a crappy platformer with no inspired ideas. Worse than NSMB Wii.

@HappyMaskedGuy Perhaps I am a very experienced gamer and thus I usually finish a game very quick.
Re: Nvidia Formally Ditches SHIELD Tablet Successor, Reinforcing NX Reports
@c1pher_c0mplet My point is that Nintendo actually made LESS games for Wii U now than before - they are making LESS effort to support the console.

@BlueKnight07 Perhaps Wii U and NX both do not have blast processing to run the game.
Re: Sonic Mania Announced for Spring 2017, But No Nintendo Platforms Are Included
Nintendo fans do not need sonic games. Even if Sega has gone far enough to put it on NX, Nintendo fans won't like it anyway.
