Re: Review: Bayonetta 2 (Wii U)

GreatPlayer

I played the demo and I like it more than W101.The control of B2 is tighter, and the drawing mechanism is gone.

By the way, why is Sega involved in this game?

I never really notice framerate drop. How can people notice it with a bare eye?

Re: Sonic Boom: Rise Of Lyric Speeds To Earlier Release Date On Wii U

@FilmerNgameR Generations are good but it does not really glow on me (probably because I dislike those mission stages). Sonic Colors is mostly a 2D game with occasional 3D stages. But, wow, its 2D stages are the most extensive and varied throughout the entire sonic series! Sonic Lost World did perfectly on the control of a 3D sonic. Combination of Generations and Lost World will be interesting, although I thought there are stages like those in Lost World (those segment of stages were you keep running forward?).

Regardless of what people say, I feel recent sonic has been better than ever! Nostalgia affects you if you really think that old Sonic titles are better than Sonic Colors and Sonic Lost World. I grew up with Sonic but I felt Sonic Colors have much varied gameplay than the old Sonic titles. Lost World has resolved the camera angle issue. I will buy Sonic Boom for Wii U Day 1!

Re: Review: Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)

I remembered Dynasty Warrior in PS2. It was a game that LOOKED pretty but all you need to do was to keep pressing the same button to do the combos. After a while I felt bored.

Looks like Bayonetta 2 will be much less repetitive.

Re: SEGA Announces Sand-Based Arcade Game, Probably Not Coming to Wii U

GreatPlayer

It is probably not coming to Wii U: it is unlikely to be released in any console anyway. How to emulate those sand-playing mechanics on any platform?

There are many hits from SEGA that is not released outside Japan. About 10 years ago Sega released a blockbuster based on the Chinese story - the Romance of the Three Kingdom (the same story background of Dynasty Warrior). In this Sega game, you played on a table where you can put cards on. The table emulates a battlefield. While a TV screen shows the moves of a CPU-controlled army, you placed and moved your cards on the table (battlefield) in response. Each card represents an army and you have to move your cards (in real time) so as to counter the CPU enemy (that is constantly in motion).

Sega did released a version of this game for DS, where you can move cards on the touch screen. That game was a hit not only in Japan but also in Asia, but it was not found anywhere in the West.

Re: Review: Teslagrad (Wii U eShop)

@luke88 I understand what you are saying, but do you notice that Wii U games are increasingly unlikely to have demo? I often purchased a game that I do not play because the game did not have demo (e.g., Scream Kitty and Toki Tori 2). These games are by no means bad and someone would love these games. Just I would not play them. I just do not want to pay a full price for a game that I would regret after playing it for a few minutes.

Re: Review: Teslagrad (Wii U eShop)

How long is this game?

I have just spent $15 on Shovel Knight, $10 on SteamWorld Dig, $5 on Scream Cat, $12 on Wii Sport Club, $4 for Mario 3... another $15 is hard for me to swallow.

Re: Watch Dogs Wii U Release Dates Confirmed

GreatPlayer

Competing with Sonic Boom - are you out of your mind, Ubisoft?

@tovare Please, sonic lost world is much better than sonic adventure...

Speaking about mature games, where is Yazuka for release in US? Why didn't Sega localize Yazuka and release it?

Re: Video: Watch These Teenagers As They're Exposed To The NES

GreatPlayer

I remembered playing Mario Bros when I was like 9, and then I felt lots of games were better than Mario Bros (e.g., Wonderboy, Bio Miracle Bokutta Upa). But after playing Mario 3 I felt like it is one of the best games ever made - definitely better than the Boner games nowadays.

Honestly, you can still play Mario 3 nowadays and experienced how amazing it still is (as compared to recent video games)? The problem of recent video games was that they are too easy (i.e., no challenge) and probably for kids only.

Re: September's Club Nintendo Reward Details Are Confirmed

GreatPlayer

They just cancelled Kirby Super Star. I have suggested before - they should give discounts for eshop instead of giving out games that no one wants. Think about it: $5 off for each 200 coins or something, and maybe allow these $5 to be used for games over $10. Good for their business as I would pay more to buy a more expansive game. I would also be much more keen about Club Nintendo than having Mario Bros (?)

Mario Bros was one of the first games I played on NES and I remember disliking it.

Re: You Can Dress Up As Fox McCloud Thanks To Bayonetta 2's Star Fox Costume

GreatPlayer

2 games in one. What a steal! I like a lot of things about W101, jest except the drawin recognition. Bayonetta is nit going tohave this element. In addition, i somehow like the torturing combo. Call me sadistic!

I agree that the Nintendo custome thing is somewhat unnecessary: do not really fit with the game. Bayontta with peach costume does not look like Peach anyway. I won't bother with this element.

I won't buy other games until Bayonetta come out. Somehow i qm not really interested in Hyrule Warrior. Then, in Nov, Sonic Boom. Christmas, Captain Toad.

@andrea987 There are two lies in this world:
"We never fire people." (Fact: "Every company fires")
"We never fire people." (Fact: They secretly stage a layoff.)

It is unknown which company Nintendo belongs to, as the company was renowned for developing a monopoly and forced developers to sign contracts that prohibited them to develop games for Sega (Mega Drive) and NEC (PC Engine).
